Oh and quod agree about parent facing, I would hate not having that at the moment...

Alexandra6 · 19/09/2013 16:40

Cross post but ah thanks janey I secretly wanted someone to say the play mats are worth it as I think it would be cute putting the baby on it!

Alexandra6 · 19/09/2013 16:44

Is this the sort of thing they like?

Oh and I know this is a waste of money and luckily out of stock so I can't crack and buy it, but how cute is this!

Bet my poor baby ends up in loads of novelty clothes like those hats with animal ears Wink

janey1234 · 19/09/2013 17:37

Yes suspect you wouldn't use that all all no matter how cute

Someone from NCT has this one and said it was cheap on amazon - her boy loves kicking and making music. She recommended it but I'd already bought mine cheaply from eBay!

janey1234 · 19/09/2013 17:38

And this is the one you can probably borrow from me

Purplemonster · 19/09/2013 19:46

we've got this gym: [http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B007C2XF0G/ref=mp_s_a_1_16?qid=1379616212&sr=8-16&pi=AC_SX110_SY165] only a basic one (some of them are about £70! Shock) but she likes it.
She loves her bouncy chair bit we haven't got a swing so I guess you only need one or the other.

janey1234 · 19/09/2013 20:00

I don't know how they can charge so much purple. Mine would have been expensive new, yet in all honestly is some brightly coloured fabric with dangly bits!

Quodlibet · 19/09/2013 20:03

I honestly can not believe the price of baby stuff. So I can get a car seat off my sister to fit a bugaboo to save a bit, and I looked up the adapters and they are £30 for two bits of black plastic. Literally two lumps of plastic. WTF!

janey1234 · 19/09/2013 20:14

I know quod, but those adapters are awesome. Brilliant. When you have a sleeping baby you can move without waking you'll think it's the best £30 you've ever spent!
Everything else is a rip off though Grin

HazleNutt · 19/09/2013 20:38

quod try ebay, there seem to be some cheaper offers.

Cavort · 19/09/2013 20:57

We have this chair. She wasn't fussed about it as a newborn but it's a godsend now as she naps well in it and we hang her favourite toys off the canopy to keep her entertained while she's awake.

I agree you only need a cheap baby gym as you'll end up hanging your baby's own favourite toys off it anyway.

My friend has a blow up ring which looks like that sit me up cosy, she said once bubs can sit up but needs a bit of containing it was invaluable. She paid about a tenner in asda for it though so not too much of an investment. I'm just going to play it by ear as I figure all babies are different. We do have a play mat and a bouncy chair though so just hope bubs likes them. Grin

Cavort · 19/09/2013 21:23

Hmmm, I wonder why it says that chair is suitable from 6+ months on Amazon when it is definitely suitable from birth?

HazleNutt · 19/09/2013 21:32

As bouncy chairs are concerned, I love the Babybjörn. It's small and portable, so we take it with us when visiting friends. Vic is not so crazy about the playgym, but maybe he's just too young.

MotherOfCleo · 19/09/2013 21:54

Did my first pregnancy yoga tonight, really enjoyed it, got another 3 to weeks to go. The girls were all lovely too, I wasnt one of the biggest either, one girl is due next week.

Fingers crossed some of the stretches and poses help during labour, plus the breathing and relaxation techniques were fab.

Alexandra6 · 19/09/2013 22:04

I'm Envy mother that sounds good - how much is the class? I should do something like that.

MotherOfCleo · 19/09/2013 22:22

Its ten pounds per hour and a half class or thirty eight pound for a set of four classes. I'd recommend it alex.

Cavort · 19/09/2013 23:05

Janey are you taking Miles to Water Babies? I have emailed WB and a similar one called Puddle Ducks, which has classes which are more convenient to me. PD is £12 but WB haven't told me their price so I just wondered how much WB classes are?

Quodlibet · 19/09/2013 23:08

Alex I am booking to go to yoga with these people. Where are you based in London?

Alexandra6 · 19/09/2013 23:30

North east London, sounds like these are South? Thanks though Smile

janey1234 · 20/09/2013 08:20

I think it's £15 cavort. Well worth it to me, as he bloody loves it. Plus the pool is a special one without chlorine and the water is heated to 35 degrees...

MotherOfCleo · 20/09/2013 08:57

I just looked back at the date I got the bfp, I knew I tested early but I was only 3+4 days, no wonder I seem to have been preggo for a fair old while. Wink Also by my dates it looks like I could have got upduffed on valentines day, that's kind of cute. Grin No idea why I'm looking at all of that now though Blush

Alexandra6 · 20/09/2013 09:12

How funny mother I was trying to find an old pic earlier and stumbled across my pic of the first positive test, love that pic Grin I tested early too, and remember you're not even preggers for the first two weeks so really I was only about a week and a half! We got knocked up on MIL's birthday, probably won't mention that to her Grin Valentine's is more romantic!

janey I think you have to go to water babies with a baby of the same age/experience don't you - so if none of my NCT people want to fork out, do you reckon it would be just as good to go alone? My neighbour goes but she goes on Saturday with her DP and they take it in turns getting in the pool. I'm really looking forward to that class.
