And it's always about women, all our fault. Because we have those children through immaculate conception or something? Last I checked, most men in their 20s are not exactly rushing to have children. I might have started a few years earlier, but I only met the man to have children with when I was 29, so are they offering some magical solutions to fix this issue?

MotherOfCleo · 16/09/2013 15:57

Me and my OH met 7 years ago, but at that point I was at uni and we both lived at home with our folks. Plus he is a few years younger than me cradle snatcher Wink so babies only came onto our radar fairly recently.

janey1234 · 16/09/2013 15:57

Indeed hazle. I've known DP for years but we only got together last January. We didn't wait long to have children! I would have happily had babies in my early twenties but I didn't have the money or a man I wanted to be with!!

janey1234 · 16/09/2013 15:58

Cross post mother! I've known DP seven years and am also a cradle snatcher - he's eight and a half years younger than me Shock

MotherOfCleo · 16/09/2013 16:33

Nice work Janey!!!! Wink You little minx you. Mines only 3 years younger but in your early 20s that seems to make a bigger difference.

Cavort · 16/09/2013 18:55

DH is 2.5 years younger than me. We are obviously all ageing well for us to be so desirable to younger men which is what I will continue to tell myself Grin

OP posts:
MotherOfCleo · 16/09/2013 18:59

haha, this is quite amusing. Grin Wonder of a theme is developing, seems we all have a thing for the younger man. It must be our youthful glows Wink

HazleNutt · 16/09/2013 19:44

DH is 1,5 years older, but before him I always dated men at least 10 years older than me, so for me, a man my own age is cradle snatching Grin

Purplemonster · 16/09/2013 21:47

Mine is 18 months older than me...how do
I go about finding one of these younger models hmm?

I would have been happy to have children in my 20s if I hadn't been single, as it is I hardly consider myself creaking at 31!

BelissimaLol · 17/09/2013 08:06

How funny! I've always been a cradle snatcher too but dh is 3 years older than me! Prob the first time in my whole life I've gone out with someone so old GrinGrin
Have my first baby yoga class today and am quite looking forward to it.
Also found out about baby swimming and decided I will take her as soon as she has had 12 week jabs. It costs 18 quid a month so just over 4 quid a lesson which seems reasonable? What do you ladies think?

Alexandra6 · 17/09/2013 08:56

That's really reasonable lol, is that just at a local swimming pool? I know a couple of people like janey doing water babies classes which sound brilliant but quite pricey. I also know a couple of people who did the not as pricey version and loved that too. Either way I'll def do something like that, let me know how baby yoga goes.

I've got myself an older man too, 5 years older though you wouldn't know it, he's a big kid, always making me laugh! He's even got some grey highlights now, silver fox Grin Was very glad he was the older one when my ovaries went on strike so we had more time!

Have my 30 week midwife app today, wow it's all getting closer! Grin

Purplemonster · 17/09/2013 13:25

Good luck with your appt Alex, can't believe you're 30 weeks, when did that happen? Time's flying!

Tried to dress my poor little pickle in proper clothes today instead of babygrow. Gave up on a dress when I saw that the 0-3 months tights when laid out next to her go toes to toes and waistband to nose! So I opted for T-shirt sized up to 1 month and newborn sized trousers...they're both massive, she looks ridiculous. Think I'll stick with babygrows tomorrow Grin

janey1234 · 17/09/2013 13:41

Agreed - 30 weeks!! I haven't see you for ages - have to catch up when I'm back so I can see you and the bump! I remember a friend from uni saying to me when I was 30 weeks that no matter how big I felt the bump would grow ridiculously from that point on - and she was right! You really do begin to understand why people refer to it as being 'heavily' pregnant!

Miles slept for 13 hours last night, including sleeping from 10-5 without waking for a feed. Was lovely Smile

Purplemonster · 17/09/2013 13:43

13 hours?!! Shock I think 4 hours is the most Lucy has ever slept. I'm so jealous!

HazleNutt · 17/09/2013 15:12

Still the opposite problem here, Vic is in 6 month clothes now. But he's been in proper clothes I think twice, they just look so uncomfortable. Nothing wrong with vests and babygrows, they're just babies and have all the time in the world to wear uncomfortable impractical clothes later.

HazleNutt · 17/09/2013 15:12

oh and congrats on 30 weeks alex, almost there!

Purplemonster · 17/09/2013 15:29

I completely agree on babygrows being the best thing to dress them in, although my mother keeps moaning about me taking her everywhere in her pyjamas I don't care, they
Look comfy and that's what she wears until they're all I the wash and I have to get more creative!

I can't believe Vic is in 6 month clothes! What centile is he on? Any better luck with the bottles?

MotherOfCleo · 17/09/2013 15:31

Wow, miles is such a good sleeper!! Nice one Miles!

I had a meeting with clients I saw two weeks ago, they were amazed at how Ive grown, yet I am still measuring a cm smaller than they say. 29cm bump instead of the expected 30cm bump at my 30 week check 2 weeks ago. Although everything may have changed now I guess. Blush

HazleNutt · 17/09/2013 15:46

Purple for height he's 90-95th, so no wonder.
Still not happy with bottles, agrees to chew and gets something down this way, but won't properly suck. And I know he can - when he still agreed to drink from the bottle, he could get the whole thing down in the matter of minutes. Will keep trying..
And how's Lucy doing?

Purplemonster · 17/09/2013 15:58

She's doing fine thanks, she gives me the most beautiful gummy smiles that make me grin back at her like a loon. Now the weather is starting to turn I'm thinking I should start doing some sort of organised activity with her but I can't decide what, swimming, baby gymnastics, music...there is so much to choose from I'm not sure where to start.

Purplemonster · 17/09/2013 16:00

Oh and mother, I wouldn't worry too much about those measurements, they seem to be wildly inaccurate.

CatsCantFlyFast · 17/09/2013 18:46

Hey ladies, hope you're all well and not too tired. So jealous of the 30 weeks when I'm at a measly 13!
Had combined screening tests back today and whilst the overall risk is low, it seems this is because my nuchal measurement was v low, as my bloods were not good really. Did any of you experience this?

MotherOfCleo · 17/09/2013 19:25

Merk you'll be at 30 weeks before you know it. Honestly it flys.

Mine were 1 in 36,000 I think, don't remember much else. If you're worried I would book a docs or midwife appointment and ask them what your options are now.

HazleNutt · 17/09/2013 19:40

I don't remember details, nuchal was good but overall risk was 1:1400 - still low, but nothing like the tens or hundreds of thousands some other people got, so guess the bloods might have been less good.
For next one, I think I would do the Harmony test no matter what the screening shows.

Cavort · 17/09/2013 22:45

I think my nuchal was 1cm exactly, which I was told at the scan, but my combined results letter only stated the overall odds and didn't have the individual blood readings, which I didn't pursue because the odds came back huge. If you're in a position to get the Harmony I think it would be money well spent for the peace of mind it will give you and then you will find something else to worry about. Smile
