Hi,
Norms, sorry your DS is so frightened at the minute. I've no advice but I hope he's over it soon, poor cookie.
HK, gosh you seem remarkably calm, all things considered. I hope your lo stays put a while longer.
Re bumps to the head. I'm almost certain it's statutory to record it in writing. This should be both in the accident book and in a letter sent home with the child. I used to send bumped head notes home even if there was no mark as it's important for parents to know what's happened in case the child begins acting strange later that evening.
When I was an NQT, there was a child in school who fell in the playground on a Fri pm. She seemed fine but her teacher sent a note home anyway. Turned out she was having a slow bleed into her brain. When she started acting strange on the sat her mum remembered the head knock, took her to A&E and they scanned her to be sure. Luckily, she was absolutely fine and made a full recovery (she was only 5). That experience(although I wasn't her teacher) has probably made me over-cautious but who knows if her mum would have been so quick to get her checked out had she not known about the bumped head.
Pol, it sound like your nephew had quite a nasty bump and in that case, as well as recording it, I would have called his mum. Even if she decided he was fine to stay at school, she should have been given the option.
I'm sure I was advised by the nurse to give calpol before jabs anyway as it stops a fever from developing.
Welcome, Petrified!
BTW, thanks for info on American sizing. I should have remembered to check my gap trousers. I've actually found some lovely chocolate brown bootleg trousers in Formes now so just need to find a top.
DH is cooking me roast chicken and roast spuds at the moment and they smell lovely. Going to have salad instead of veg though. He's also doing apple crumble and custard for afters.
Hmmmmm.... wonder what he's after. I'm going to tease him and say, 'oh I'm so tired I'm off to bed early now' and watch his face drop!
