Tucking Angry Angry I hope it gets sorted soon, they sound completely incompetent, not at all what you need. They should be able to get their act together to add it on to the end of mat leave if they run out of time before? Not the point but hopefully you should get what you we entitled too.

Chelly I too have ear ache and crunching clicking ears every time I swallow because of this stupid cold (second night of almost no sleep). Hope yours improves soon.

Legally what a lovely picture. I agree you wouldn't be able to tell it is twins but a lovely bump.

We put the pushchair up yesterday Smile and stuck up the tree wall sticker this one which looks great but bits keep peeling off which is a shame. It is cheaper than the owl stickers we bought already these ones and unfortunately the quality shows. Wondering whether to pritt stick them to the wall or something... Today we are going to buy bedding and a Moses basket in case snuz pod comes too late and pack my hospital pile into a bag.

I have been thinking about my birth plan and particularly forceps. I have read so many horror stories about them, I am thinking of putting ventouse if necessary and if that fails then straight to c section. Anyone got any thoughts/experience?

I am starting to annoy DH with requests to bring me things like drinks because it is such a pain, literally, to get out of a chair. Sympathy is wearing off just as I actually need the help more.

Hope things are progressing nicely nelly!

OrangeBlossom2 · 08/09/2013 06:30

34 weeks today and my calendar has reminded me it is time to start perenial massage Grin Got my oil at the ready, now will I be able to reach...?

legallyblond · 08/09/2013 07:13

Tucking - so so cross for you... This is so stressful. No great advice but I really hope it gets sorted. I'm glad you're not giving in....

Cheryl and Skull.... Argh! I have my first steroid jab today then another tomorrow in my pre op (elcs for twins on Tues at 37+3 - my hospital's policy is to give steroids for any planned CS (not induction) before 39 weeks as the baby's lungs misses out on the stress/squeezing of natural labour which has a maturing effect). What should I go for, bum or thigh??? Dreading it now.....

Orange - I know what you mean about forceps. They were threatened with DD as I had been pushing for ages, over 3 hours I think, but I asked them to give me another half hour, which they said was fine (DD's heartbeat was fine) I I just gave it everything! She came out after 36 mins! But.... I think they tend to go for forceps only when they have to... Ie, only when baby is too low for an emcs and for whatever reason, ventouse hasn't worked of wouldn't work.... But def include it in your birth plan, even if, when it comes to it, you'll no doubt just want to do whatever to get baby out safely!

Clapham - hope you saw my earlier post re twins for your work colleague. So excited for you that you are out if there soon!!!! I have always liked my job, but at my old city firm, def went through phases of crazy stress and hours.... It would get so depressing having breakfast, lunch and dinner at work and being home for literally 6 hours in 24 for days at a time... The difference is I have always enjoyed the job/career, even if not that period in the career, iyswim. Like you, I would have planned far more exciting things if that weren't the case. Although, as the main earner, I agree - scary to give up the salary!!!

legallyblond · 08/09/2013 07:13

Cheryl???! I mean Chelly!

Natalieand · 08/09/2013 07:41

Sorry work r being do difficult tucking I have no experience in this so can't offer any advice just Flowers

Good luck with the steroids today legally I've no experience I'm this either but I would guess thigh as if its achey or sore after u will have to sit on your bum where as your thigh can be avoided. 48 hours till delivery day!!!...

orange the first link didn't work. But the second one did, very cute x

Dh got the Moses basket out the loft yesterday, I also wanted him to get dd's old cot out and assemble it after work today but apparently we don't need it get but we do need the basket incase I have the baby next week... Usually I'd just get up there myself but our loft hatch is on the small side and with me being on the big side.... Well!

Its really happening!!! We're gunna be having babies!!!!

Tarlia · 08/09/2013 07:44

Chick he'll be 38ish weeks by time he arrives. Was it you suggesting that my bp soared before meds? I watched it and this didn't seem to be the case according to the Dr but the def believed that my morning spikes were prob to do with not enough med over night so I now take an extra tab first thing. Hope the rest of the time with inlaws flys!

Clapham I can imagine its very exciting but equally terrifying. Just do not become one of 'those' mummy's ;):P

tucking I'm glad you are still around and DS had a lovely time with Daddy. Can't believe your work, how bloody annoying and stressful! Fx they get their bums into gear and fix it properly!

legally beautiful bump and cute DD. you really have a neat bump. Can I make a guess? Two boys..

Exciting about the pram orange! I couldn't see the first sticker link, but the second one with the BW owls are lovely! Are they sticking? If you decide to get more, I can def recommend the company RoomMates. DS has some woodland ones which have stayed stuck and got some for around baby's area of our room too which I'm going to attempt putting up with DS today.

JellyCurls · 08/09/2013 07:50

Good luck with steroid jags today legally hope its not too painful.

I thought baby was coming last night - had horrendous pelvic pressure & pains in lower back last night & feeling I needed to poo (sorry for TMI). Then at midnight I started having really strong regular tightenings / contractions that lasted till about 2am. Every tightening caused my pelvic & back pain to increase. Fell into a disturbed sleep thanks to DS for waking 5 times and that's it. Body must just be gearing up for delivery but please not at midnight again

legallyblond · 08/09/2013 07:53

How are you feeling Tarlia? I gather that PE can be funny in that some people feel fine, even when PE is escalating, while others feel rotten.....

cuillereasoupe · 08/09/2013 08:20

We're supposed to be painting the nursery today. DP picked up a stencil yesterday while we were at the DIY place without looking at the price - fifty bleeding quid for a bit of cut out plastic!! I think it might be going back to the shop Grin

Racheld33 · 08/09/2013 08:21

Wow everyone, I have a few days off and you're nearing the end of another thread!

legally I can't believe you're on a 48 hour countdown, so excited for you!

jelly we're definately reaching a point now when things start happening, things are getting a bit scary, try to get some good naps today -(if you can with a DS!)

JellyCurls · 08/09/2013 08:35

Naps today sound great just need DH to get his butt out of bed first. If he says he's tired I may thump him.

OrangeBlossom2 · 08/09/2013 08:48

It is good to know you can ask for more time if all is ok with the baby legally, thanks.

Tarlia · 08/09/2013 08:50

legally you are right, it's very strange. Last pregnancy I felt fine and BP crept up but PE hit at 36 weeks - no medication, this time it's been exhausting and felt awful. Still, nearly over and worth it in the end.

cuille what an expensive stencil!! I'd def take it back and look into the stickers - walls need 3 weeks to dry before putting up though.

Welcome back, rach. Have you finished at the surgery now?

jelly hopefully that's your only practice run before d-day as that doesn't sound fun at all. Lazy DH! Kick his butt up since you felt with DS too, I think it's time you get to nap while he sorts DS's lunch etc.

We are having a lazy morning, well DS, I always have to be lazy ha. Anyway, we are watching the very hungry caterpillar on Netflix - def reccomend looking it up as its as beautifully calmly illustrated as the book.

Pinkforboys · 08/09/2013 09:18

Morning Ladies,
jelly it sounds like an awful night- thank god it didn't turn into full blown labour.

tucking your company sounds awful. Fx it gets sorted out soon in a positive way Thanks

legally it's a lovely photo- you must be excited to be meeting your DCs so soon! Good luck with the jab. I can recommend heavy breathing through the injection -like you're holding back from shouting at someoneHmm- might sound weird but it's got me through mine these last 9 months (not all steroids mind!) Do they have to go in fat or muscle? If fat I'd recommend the thigh. Bum's have a surprising amount of muscle in them.

orange we have same prob with our wall stickers- amazingly they're still up 18 months later but I do have to rub them flat again now and then...! these ones Pritt stick sounds like a good remedy...

pseudo hope you're feeling better today. I had a grumpy day yesterday too. Just fed up with everyone and everything. Sometimes a good curse or sob helps to clear the air.

And all these dogs and cats sounds like my (and other's?) DC. We must be oozing loads of 'Life's about to change' pheromones that they can sense.

Bring on the babies!!!!

doobeedee · 08/09/2013 09:20

Cuillere, I've used wall stickers and they're brilliant. They were only 13.99 and are massive. They go on really well and peel of with no mess. They don't lose their stickiness if you need to reposition them loads. I'll see if I can find the link again:

textbook · 08/09/2013 09:21

Tucking that is totally shit and unacceptable. Just when you don't need the stress. Really hope they sort it out for you ASAP Thanks

I got some cheap wall stickers for dd last year Orange and they are incredibly irritating - always peeling off and look really rubbish now. I didn't thing of glueing them though! Can you get clear gloss paint? I don't think pritt stick would cut it with ours...!

I had the most awful/ridiculous dream - I was carrying the baby around in a giant egg instead of my tummy, but accidentally dropped it. It cracked a bit and I peeked to see the baby, but inside were just loads of giant yolks Blush I wonder if I'm feeling anxious?!?

doobeedee · 08/09/2013 09:22

These are the ones that I used. They've gone back up in price but still not to full price. I'd definitely pay more for them as I'm so impressed!

doobeedee · 08/09/2013 09:23

That's a shame about your stickers textbook. Mine are great.

MrsO27 · 08/09/2013 09:41

Hi all, just checking in after nearly 2 weeks off the thread. Last couple of weeks at work were manic, working 12 hour+ days so very glad to now be off! Have I missed any more babies? Hope you're all well. Hoping to catch up with what I've missed this week.

Pannacotta2013 · 08/09/2013 09:54

Hey everyone, I'm an irregular poster - I read most days but never get to the end to post! Apart from this morning. tucking that is just shit the way they are treating you. You have my sympathy - its the last thing you need at this kind of time. Write that letter to the CEO, they need to know how rubbish their HR are.

I'm still more focused on getting our flat finished before the baby arrives - were wallpapering today and getting carpet on 17 sept (I'm 36 weeks today) - talk about cutting it fine. It has distracted me from some pg anxiety though. Really I've been quite lucky of wise - no major pain or problems (well, apart from horrid reflux, insomnia, neededing the loo every five minutes only fit there to be no wee, and blood pressure now creeping up). A few weeks ago I got a bit depressed, which was really frightening, but I arranged to get out and do lots more stuff, that helped a lot and I actually felt less tired for it. So I think I need to keep an eye on that.

Thinking of all you ladies with your early labours and cs booked - very good luck. Shire and cazboldy, am I right in thinking you are planning home births as well? Are you feeling prepared? I'm planning to hire a birth pool too? And hotsoup if I do go to hospital I'll be at the royal London as well - I'm in bethnal green, are you local?

Cooked breakfast waiting for me now, mmm.

PseudoBadger · 08/09/2013 10:12

Tarlia BP is naturally higher in the morning too, so that may be affecting readings.

TheFalconsmistress · 08/09/2013 10:29

had a huge message done and my playbook wiped it Angry

I'm 37 weeks so officially term, away for my second monitoring today hoping i don't have a baby to report this evening!

tucking That work situation sounds horrid Flowers

legally cant believe you are so close to meeting your beautiful babies :)

Jelly sorry your night was horrendous I too am hoping to go into labour in the day hopefully at 9.05 once DS is safely in school!

Any more news from nellys or have i missed that?

diege · 08/09/2013 10:30

Morning Smile orange I had forceps with my last delivery as baby was back to back and needed to be rotated. In this case ventouse wouldn't have been appropriate. As it was, baby flipped back anyway and was delivered facing up, but I was happy with the forceps as it was a vbac and I was anxious to avoid a C-section based on experience with dc4 (emcs under GA with GA problems). In the right hands they can be very effective but does depend which types they are using and how high up baby is.
Also on your stickers-issue I had the same problem with one of the 2 sets I bought for ds1's room. Prit-stick did do the job but be prepared to keep a stick handy as may not stay stuck for too long - v.annoying.

Tucking that is appalling abut your HR dept - you might be surprised how quickly they act though if you do accelerate the process via ACAS. There also used to be an organisation called the Maternity Alliance (online) that are very helpful with issues such as these, but not sure if they still exist.
MON re: comments, not many sympathetic ones here re: number 6, just shocked expressions etc though no one has been nasty as such (at least not to my face Wink). Comments pretty similar for no.5 - I just try and let it wash over me Hmm.
textbook thanks on the heads-up about the internal scan possibility. So technically can it still be 'low' do you think but not so low they would suggest a section?
Am going for a bath and a 'lunge' with the razor now! Piles no better but have not tried the ice yet...

Natalieand · 08/09/2013 10:37

diege I had a 'good' shave last night lol dh done my legs for me and offered to do my.... But I insisted I could do it and to be fair I don't think I've done a bad job (based on that it feels ok as I can see nothing) I think I'm just gunna do it weekly now until baby is born which should keep me in check lol. Good luck!

To those having sticker problems.... When dd was born we brought her a vinyl sticker of her name and butterflies and its never fallen off the wall and I stuck it up the same week as I painted, but we also brought her a flower and cat sticker but it wasn't vinyl even tho it claimed to be a wall sticker and it came off untold times so if u have a look about on eBay and make sure the one u but is vinyl u will have no problems keeping it on the wall xxx

skullbabe · 08/09/2013 10:51

chellyyx - the injection was the worst thing I've ever felt - just unbelievable

legally - I tried two sites for the injections - my thigh and my buttock - I felt the thigh was worse - and breathe through the pain

can you believe it legally - 48 hours or so our little babies are here? Do you have a set time for your cs?

I'm on a cooking blitz - chicken chasseur, ginger peppercorn chicken and cheese and potato pie in the oven - house smells very strange lol

Oooh getting really anxious now
