On a long car journey, literally just said 'I need a wee, don't get much warning when pg from being fine to being desperate' and boom - solid immovable traffic on M4. Awesome.

misskatamari · 24/08/2013 12:17

Make sure to be doing pelvic floor exercises milkandtwo - apparently we'll all just be pissing ourselves willy nilly soon enough!

Champagne if it makes you feel any better (and maybe it's because it's DC2 for me and my pelvic floor is shot) I generally leak a bit when I'm violently sick at the moment. Luckily it often happens when I'm actually sat on the loo (and I grab DS's potty from beside the loo) but it's really not very glamorous is it!

I don't think it has to be at exactly 20 weeks, it's not like the 12 week scan in that way where they have a precise window to get the nuchal measurement. Mine is at 20+4 I think. How much over is yours Champagne?

Interesting about eggs - in what form? I'm exactly the same about being totally off meat, can't bear the thought/smell/look of it and was exactly the same last time. Although discovered that very crispy bacon somehow passes the test! My latest discovery is M&S cauliflower cheese. Oh wow, I could literally eat it all day. In fact, creamy stuff is definitely my friend at the moment - can't imagine eating anything with more of a tomato based sauce, the idea turns my stomach!

misskatamari · 24/08/2013 17:15

Mmmmm bacon! I was loving bacon butties on white baps with ketchup and brown sauce last week!

Glad you had a lovely holiday Champagne. Hope the sickness doesn't return too badly x

Champagne definitely sounds like baby brain - blame it for everything! Funnily enough on the veggie note, we went to Giraffe last weekend with DS and I absolutely wolfed down the veggie version of their huevos rancheros - tortilla covered with scrambled egg, portabello mushrooms, cheese, salsa, guacamole, avocado etc. Food of the gods! My list of foods I can eat and even on some occasions really enjoy is definitely growing, really hope it stays that way. Oh, and so far this week I've only been sick twice!

My sickness has drastically improved, it's only really in the morning now! waves flag however I have gone completely off food. Not sure if it's the transition to different country - food here is much more limited than what you find in England, and I am reaaally bored of it. Can't afford to buy half the things I like to eat, and for some reason, I am totally put off chicken, which is normally one of my staple items for protein. Have lost 4 pounds in the last 6 weeks, despite not actually vomiting much! but not overly worried - I have so much to spare that I don't think it'll matter :P Food just sucks right now. Also really want to get out of my face drunk, which I very rarely do anyway, but I guess it's part of the "always want what you can't have" issue!

Anyone else got due date on 27th Feb?

vix206 · 24/08/2013 18:02

I was told the anomaly scan needs to be between 18 and 21 weeks ideally. Smile

With the pelvic floor thing....,

I realised my muscles were ruined when I joined DS on a trampoline for the first time. Such a weird, horrible sensation!!!!

LovesToBake · 24/08/2013 18:13

Champagne, I'm the same, really don't like being pregnant. In fact this has basically made our decision for us about stopping at 2 DCs. Had always vaguely thought we might aim for 3, but as this pregnancy is proving just as tough as the last one with the sickness and generally feeling rubbish (and this time with an early-rising and demanding toddler in tow!), we've decided we'll be delighted with our little family of 4 and I'm excited about never having to be pregnant again, getting my shape back in due course and being able to enjoy food and wine again. It's weird as I'm not a big drinker at all usually, but I do really enjoy the odd good glass of white with a meal and I'm already counting down to being able to do that again come Feb! Not because I don't agree with the odd drink when pregnant, just because the very idea turns my stomach and I know it will stay that way right through until the day I give birth just like last time!

I'm exactly the same - hopefully it makes you feel better to know that literally the day I gave birth, my enjoyment of all food came back. About an hour before my water's broke (after which it was labour on high-speed as DS arrived 3 hrs later!) I was in Tesco buying the fixings for an Asian steak salad recipe that I suddenly really fancied. This was unheard of as I'd been off meat and interesting flavours through the whole pregnancy. So this time round if I suddenly find myself with urges like that, I might just stay home and not risk my waters breaking in the supermarket!

misskatamari · 24/08/2013 19:16

I know what you mean champagne - we want ours close together hopefully but the thought of feeling like I have done again any time soon is just horrible. Although part of me thinks "just get it all over with quickly!"

misskatamari · 24/08/2013 19:18

Oh my god I bought quality street today and at some (I think I stupidly/greedily decided to "remind myself" what each one tastes like) and I spent the afternoon feeling soooooo sick! When will I learn! DH is under strict instructions (again!) to never let me buy them!!!

jazzcat28 · 24/08/2013 19:19

Really feeling for you ladies who are still off certain food - fingers crossed you are able to get more variety in the next couple of months! Personally I'm sat waiting for my curry to be delivered..

My mother and grandmother are going bonkers with buying stuff. I know I should be grateful but really it's getting ridiculous. Starting to wonder whether I should just not buy anything other than nursery furniture as at this rate it will all be bought!

If anyone's interested, Mamas & Papas online have 30% off their baby clothes over the BH weekend (might have indulged in a few cute items).

Emotions still all over the place. This evening managed to yell at DH for no particular reason so now he's in a grump and I'm sat on here.

I have made a little progress with my dissertation today so that's a bonus.
