Well, here's hoping!

Sweetpea is so cute! I also just nearly spelt it sweatpea too. Willa is lovely too Shropshire.

My god have any of you been reading the "creepiest thing your child has said" thread in chat? I am shitting myself now, it's so freaky!!!

misskatamari · 23/08/2013 18:37

Oh my god I want some quality street!!!

littlestgirlguide · 23/08/2013 20:06

Well. I seem to have purchased a pushchair :-)
I went for the Maxi Cosi Mura 3 I've had my eye on for a while, as I found a local supplier who had one in stock and went this morning to try it out, then took DH back to try it out, then went back with my car seat and carrycot to see if they fitted (car seat does, carrycot doesn't but mum says she will buy me a new one!) so I occupied the poor mans whole day Blush and they even matched on online deal I'd seen so it cost less than £300, which I'm pretty pleased with. It's a mahoosive box though, currently occupying rather too much of my lounge!

Posted in Baby Names but my current favourite names are Nicholas Richard and Imogen Ruth. Traditional here, no Wilberforces or Percys, I will let Shropshire have those! Peony is very pretty too, but I would be worried it wouldn't suit a DD of mine - I am such a tomboy and so is my DD, a pretty girls name like that just wouldn't sit well with her!

It will just be DH and the midwife with me at the birth, like last time. I have no friends I would want there who aren't needed by their own children and who are near enough, and I will need my mum to look after DD. However DH travels daily from one end of the country to the other at very little or no notice with his work, and there's always the worry that he will be 400 miles away when I go into labour unexpectedly, and I end up all alone and he misses the whole thing.... I need to find someone as a back up plan I think!

I would bloody love a box of chocolates right now. Why is it I can get a takeaway delivered but not chocolate? Someone's missing a trick as DH is out and I'm confined to the house as Dd is in bed (not yet asleep though Hmm)

Milkandtwo · 23/08/2013 21:12

misskatamari I just went to check it thy thread. Aaaargh! Freaky! I'm not going to be able to handle it if future DC comes out with weirdness like some of that! I'm far too woo.

CubanoHabana · 23/08/2013 21:25

Aw misskatamari I have some quality street in the cupboard that I just can't stomach. Got given them and box of heros from some kids for running summer school and the smell of the quality street made me feel sick but had no problem with the heros! Weird!

littlest I read that as saying 'I have no friends' Nd was a bit Sad but then re-read and was like phew!

Littleen · 23/08/2013 21:27

So, just told my older sister (33) that she's going to be an aunt. She has no kids of her own, and is a forever singleton. Her response was "oh.. grats. You know, my friends baby died the day before she was due!"

So now I'm sat here being epic worried about some freak accident happening inside my tum. What a great thing to say -.- gah. My sister's got a personality disorder which makes her talk with her foot in her mouth a lot basically, but I can't help being a little bit frustrated!

Somanychanges · 23/08/2013 21:31

What is it about being pregnant and when you see something you just don't feel satisfied until you have it? I have seen an ad with skittles on and all I can think about is skittles. But as I now live in a village, looks like I can't get DH to pop over to the 24hr shop Sad

misskatamari · 23/08/2013 21:34

Awww Cubano I am so jealous! I'm gonna have to buy some tomorrow (gonna try and resist the big tins as I will eat them all in a matter of days!)

Milkandtwo I know I was crapping myself reading it! Hope I don't have a creepy baby. I need to stop reading spooky threads on here - I kept getting scared when I have to go to the loo in the night (a million times!)

Fab news about the pram littlest! Also fingers crossed DH is nearby when labour does start - I guess at least it's usually quite long from when it first starts isn't it? So even if far away he would hopefully be able to race home and be there for the main event Smile

I'm so glad for all the nice reassuring birth stories on this thread - just been reading one about post birth problems and its bloody terrifying (even worse than spooky babies!) definitely need to sign up to my local hypnobirthing class so I'm calm about labour and not worrying about how horrific it could be.

misskatamari · 23/08/2013 21:38

Littleen that's so crap of your sister. Things like that are so tragic but are a one in a million chance.

Somany - it's crazy isn't it. I don't have cravings in terms of wanting one thing all the time but I just see something or think about it and WANT IT NOW!!! Or as I tell DH - the baby wants it! He alas doesn't believe me so is usually reluctant to help me in my quest for delicious foods. Although he did bring me all the chocolate in the house to pick from when we didn't have quality street. I settled for eating Nutella with a spoon!

Somanychanges · 23/08/2013 21:41

Aw littleen that was not a nice thing to hear. We cannot spend all our pregnancies worried though even though things do go wrong what will be will be. But it is hard not to be worried especially when you get near the end and you just want baby out. It's great though in the later stages as you get to feel baby moving all the time and that is very reassuring.

My liver condition means that babies heart could just suddenly stop beating at any minute. The condition starts to come on at about 5 months. The first pregnancy I was freaking out every time I stopped feeling her moving but by the second I had managed to relax a bit more.

marzipanned · 23/08/2013 21:41

Oh littleen I worry about that all the time anyway :( But, yes, not helpful to have someone say it out loud...

missk I saw the title of that post birth problems thread and was like - there is NO way I am going anywhere near that!

Littleen · 23/08/2013 21:46

Thanks guys

Littleen · 23/08/2013 21:55

oh god I am so freaked out but can't stop reading...milk float...and the kiddo buried with his sister Mary... waaat

Thisisfreakingmeout · 23/08/2013 22:04

I have a bump! It happened over night. I'm half freaked out about it, half fond of the paunch. I was putting off buying mat clothes but I need to man up!

Baking a triple chocolate cake and had to pour water and washing up liquid in the bowl right away to avoid licking every scrap from the bowl. I know it would prob be fine but I also no I am a worrypants so I better not.

Littleen · 23/08/2013 22:20

congrats :D how many weeks are you?

Shropshiremummy2bLaFay · 23/08/2013 22:59

Re quality streets, the first time I left my dog with someone whilst I went abroad for a weekend I rang her to see how the first night went, she said he's been great but I left him for a couple of hours and he got up on the side and ate a box of quality streets. I was mortified so brought her back lots of duty free toblerone. When I handed it over and said sorry about the quality streets, she said 'he didn't eat any of the chocolates, he just destroyed the box'!

How is this baby going to be a patch on my little chocolate prince?!?!

Milkandtwo · 24/08/2013 06:13

Ten past six today - its a lie in!

Gah.

sunflowered · 24/08/2013 06:50

I think it was a bit before 6.10 when my body started to tell me to go to the loo but have managed to fight it off until now - bonus lie in!

Have reserved my nct classes for the 'late feb arrivals' group, but also received a reservation for the 'early days' course 'just in case'. Has anyone else done one of these, and if so, are they worth the time and money?

EeyoreIsh · 24/08/2013 06:55

littleen sorry to hear that people haven't been positive, it sucks when people feel the need to add realism, like we're not already very aware of all the risks etc! Try and stay positive, you've got this far and everything is going well.

Going home from holidays today Sad but meeting my new nephew on Monday Grin Grin Grin he's super tiny at just over 6lbs, I'll be scared to hold him!

misskatamari · 24/08/2013 07:58

Lol Shropshire that made me chuckle about your dog. Mmmmm duty free toblerone. Now I want toblerone!

Slept till half 7 today Smile amazing. Hoping to feel well enough to drive over and see my mum today as not been since we found out I was pg as its quite a long motorway drive and DH can't drive yet so I've been worried about getting there and feeling shit and feeling a bit stuck. Plus she lives in a care home so I can't just piss off for a nap if I feel exhausted. Excited about showing the scan pics and might take the Doppler along Smile.

I've joined NCT too and heard good things from friends who've done them - mainly as they met loads of people in the same boat who they could meet up with etc.

Ooh I just had an email about the nearly new sales they run too which are apparently amazing.

That's the link. I think anyone can go but if you're a member you can get in early.

vix206 · 24/08/2013 08:27

18+4 today and my boobs are so unbelievably sore again. Can't bear to have anything touch them or even brush against them, even the shower feels like torture! They've been fine for weeks so not sure why they suddenly feel so sore, hope they're not growing even bigger!!!

EeyoreIsh · 24/08/2013 08:47

Is anyone else struggling to eat a decent sized meal? I get indigestion pain from the smallest meals, it's really frustrating.

My hair has also gone much curlier in the last few weeks, it's gone from loose curls to tight corkscrews!

vix206 · 24/08/2013 08:59

Indigestion hasn't really hit me yet.

My hair was poker straight before DS, since I had him it is really wavy. Quite common apparently!

Shropshiremummy2bLaFay · 24/08/2013 09:11

Ughhhh that's worse news than bleeding for weeks! I'm a slave to GHDs....

EeyoreIsh · 24/08/2013 09:16

I don't mind the hair thing really, as it wasn't consistently curly before. Now it looks properly curly it looks much neater! I may get it cut shorter when I get home so it looks better.

I gave up on the GHDs ages ago, the slightest bit of dampness in the air and my hair frizzes terribly.
