toby oooh pram! I have pram envy, I want ours now (so I can take it for a trial run).
Also, i am with you on the people movers, but they were pretty much the only easy solution to your situation. You'll learn to love it! I have a set of 'car eyelashes' which I bought for a prank, and never used, if that would help you love your new car? Who says I waste money?

Bunt fx all is well at scan.

sultana cute baby clothes are essential. Ignore all nay-sayers. I've been waiting ten years to be able to buy them!

Sultanajo · 30/08/2013 17:59

Well as I predicted, my mum had her practical head on. No one I go looking at baby stuff with in RL so far has had the same "aw look how cute that is" attitude. Very disappointing! Sad

Didnt buy anything today apart from a cute outfit, which my mum said "hmmmm, it doesnt have feet attached". Well I know socks etc tend to fall off, but its a cute outfit, it was on sale and I liked it, so thats that!

Feeling totally wiped out now! Am hoping DH doesnt come home and moan about anything I havent done around the house today! Have only just got home and my lower back is now killing me! Could so fall asleep! Shock

sarahleanne · 30/08/2013 18:20

toby so jealous of your brand new car and pram!! Cant wait to get my pram now Smile, new car is definitely out of question .I think we are all a little green with envy.

sultanajo your mum sounds like my mum, they are always so practical. Infact it was my mum who persuaded me NOT to buy the pram suit last week which I am now regretting because I keep thinking I really need one,NOW Grin .

bunt if it helps, my baby is really active some days and then the next day barely moves!! I think its hard to tell at the stage we are at. Give it a few weeks and we will all be moaning we have feet stuck in our ribs!!
I hope everything is ok though. Also like blue said, it depends on babies position at this stage and where your placenta is. But you can always give your midwife a ring if your worried, it's understandable.

Im off to look at some pramsuits online because my mum cant put me off anymore Grin

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 30/08/2013 18:40

sultana mine goes 'aw', but then says 'but it's so expensive'. Joykiller.
I'll go shopping with you if my DH leaves his credit card lying around carelessly and we can coo over things together!

bunt, as sarahl said, I get some really fluttery days, some with v little. I worried for AGES that I hadn't felt it, until I found I was part of the anterior placenta club.

TobyLerone · 30/08/2013 18:52

Oh, now I feel even worse for moaning about a new car!

:o Humpty. Stick-on eyelashes might actually be the thing that makes me hate it more!

Boo to practical, Sultana! Who cares if it doesn't have feet if it's cute?

The pram is staying in the box, although DH wanted to get it out. I just know it'll be one of those things where we'll take it out and never get it back in the box again. And I need to get it in the car and over to my mum's to stash in her spare room, as we have no room whatsoever. It's bloody HUGE!

I third/fourth/whatever the 'baby has probably moved into a different position' thing, bunt. I'm sure that's what happened to me the other night.

Penny31 · 30/08/2013 19:32

toby you are showing great restraint! I'd have ripped open the box and played with the pram by now! We have no room for a pram either, I think it's going to have to live in the garage!

Penny31 · 30/08/2013 19:35

Also, re the movement issue, I've had days where I've worried I haven't felt anything too. I'm now 24 weeks and feeling it more often and much stronger. Seems to get better by the day actually. I would probs get checked out if I haven't felt a thing for a whole day, just for peace of mind. I'm sure everything will be fine though.

Yorkiedodah · 30/08/2013 20:25

Hi ladies

Going to have a quick catch up of what's been going on since I've been on last.

Went for my scan yesterday and all was fine. Got an anterior placenta too and we're team... PINK!
Was convinced we were having a boy but hey-ho, still over the moon.
Been out and got a few pink items even though I swore I never would. Smile

sarahleanne · 30/08/2013 20:44

congratulations yorkie

is team pink taking over?

MrsGSR · 30/08/2013 22:07

Congratulations yorkie!

Did anyone else who's found out use the nub theory? It was right for me, but I wasn't completely sure what I was looking for!

I'm knitting a purple and grey blanket whilst DH channels his cravings into cleaning the kitchen!

BuntCadger · 30/08/2013 23:00

Finally home. I had an anterior placenta with dd soay way be that. I felt fluttery movements around 16/17 weeks and not really much since. On car I felt what might of been little one or might of been wind Blush. Me and dh have been 'amorous' on hol and paranoid it started ctx. But then I was poorly and so was he so I reckon dodgy tum there fx

Bluecarrot · 31/08/2013 00:29

bunt I hope you can manage a good rest tonight then head down to see dr tomorrow for a wee check up?

My dd has fractured both arms this evening. Thankfully we were seen uber quick and out again as I had only 4 hours sleep last night and was worried about driving home when tired-er! Stopped in for a McFlurry ( she's never allowed those normally) and had to spoon feed her! It's like practice for new baby with my almost 11 year old.

Better now than next month when it would risk interfering with big exams though!

extracrunchy · 31/08/2013 00:33

Oh my goodness Blue, how did your DD manage that?? Definitely sounds like an occasion for a McFlurry, poor thing! Going to be hard work for you for a couple of weeks as well...

MrsVDB · 31/08/2013 03:41

mrsg mine was wrong. I was convinced it was a girl but sexing scan says boy.

blue how horrible, how did she do that??

TobyLerone · 31/08/2013 07:44

How are you doing this morning, Bunt?

Shock blue! I'm guessing she fell face first and put her arms out to save herself. How is she now? Poor thing!

MrsVDB · 31/08/2013 07:50

Casabu has slings on sale today if anyone's interested

Toothfairy78 · 31/08/2013 08:59

Morning!

Nursery furniture has arrived! It's gone straight in the garage while the floors downstairs are being renovated. I've not seen any of it but DH is excited at seeing the diddy little cot mattress!

So next up the mission list are:
Choose colours for nursery
Paint nursery
Purchase + install blind
Put up a curtain rail
Assemble furniture (yay!)
Curtains

And...
Reconstitute living room and dining room when floors are done
Implement plan B for hallway floor (vinyl floor) having discovered random concrete feature in floor.
Get felt pads on all the downstairs furniture

And a partridge in pear treeeeeee!

Did I mention we got nursery furniture and it's got a diddy little mattress? Grin

Toothfairy78 · 31/08/2013 09:04

Anyway, enough about me, bunt how you doing?

Bluecarrot · 31/08/2013 09:33

Yay for furniture arriving! We have a few bits (ikea bargain corner) but still gotta get walls in and plastered before I can get excited.

My dd just fell over when crossing the road, thankfully falling into pavement rather than road. I thought sprain as she could move fingers ( though painful). She had stopped screaming after 15 mins and I nearly turned car to come home but now feel v bad for doubting her!

Have another thread open for tips, which was comforting and helpful, and I also contacted my aunt who was a physio specialising in hands abroad. Prob won't hear for a few days for her though.

I put her in a swimsuit and DP helped her in and out of a bath last night, and will do another on Sunday night before he goes away for a week- she's too heavy for me to help lift - she's almost my height!

She got really upset at idea of missing school so will just have to figure self sufficiency out a bit.

TobyLerone · 31/08/2013 09:57

Did they put a waterproof cast on them? DD broke her arm a couple of years ago and the waterproof cast made a huge amount of difference.

Bluecarrot · 31/08/2013 10:20

Nope, not waterproof and as one arm is swollen its only the plaster on half her arm, cotton on outer side. When we go for assessment next week ill ask for possibility of waterproof ones.

Spacefrog35 · 31/08/2013 10:24

Awww poor minicarrot hope she feels better soon

bunt hope you're feeling better today.

Nursery furniture, how exciting Smile

I'm feeling slightly disturbed this morning. Woke up and none of my trousers fit! Literally overnight my bump appears to have decided to finally put in an appearance. Not sure whether I'm excited or freaked out. I can't see it past the size of my chest though so it can't freak me out too much Wink

extracrunchy · 31/08/2013 10:24

It's absolutely essential I find some sheepskin snuggly booties today.

BookTart · 31/08/2013 11:07

...and when you do crunchy please let me know where you find them. I too am all about the ridiculous outfits with ears :)

I hope DD isn't too uncomfortable carrot, what a nightmare!

How are things bunt. I'm in a similar situation, but when I use the doppler I can hear her moving about and kicking it away so I'm less worried. I'm not sure when we need to start worrying about movement and counting kicks and stuff. Has anyone's midwife told them?

AnotherStitchInTime · 31/08/2013 11:32

Sorry to hear about your dd blue, that must be incredibly painful and frustrating for her.

Extra try Amazon see here.

How exciting Tooth, it makes it all real doesn't it when the nursery furniture arrives.

Congratulations on your girl Yorkie :)

Enjoy your new car Toby!

I have days and times when I feel the movements less, if I get worried I have a cheeky glass of cold cola and that normally livens baby up a bit.
