Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsVDB · 27/08/2013 20:41

percy the one I have is 50% deet but says on the back it's fine after 3 months. It's tropical strength too. My ankles usually swell up anyway even with flight socks so dreading my cankles!! Hoping to upgrade using airmiles as it makes it so much better but not looking hopeful at the moment

Naturegirl82 · 27/08/2013 20:56

Think Dh just felt a tiny little kick Grin

MrsVDB · 27/08/2013 21:03

Ahh nature I'm so jealous!! I think a while off that yet. How far are you?

Naturegirl82 · 27/08/2013 21:46

Only 20 weeks but pretty sure it was a teeny tiny kick. The flutters have been getting stronger this past week.

TobyLerone · 28/08/2013 00:01

It's amazing how fast the kicks get stronger once they start. The midwife felt the baby kicking hard this morning, and DH and the DC are feeling them every day :)

It really is lovely. Makes up a bit for all the shitty bits!

Toothfairy78 · 28/08/2013 04:59

Morning all,

Up early to go to Belgium for the day...

Good luck to those with scans today. And hopefully more kicks and flutters for everyone else too!

Percypiglet · 28/08/2013 08:27

Think the baby has been kicking/moving. have felt a sort of "flick", muscle type twitch on my right side a few times.... Always in the same place. Would that be it?

MrsAVB · 28/08/2013 09:01

Scan day today, finally!
Have a good day all!
X

TobyLerone · 28/08/2013 09:12

Good luck, MrsA!

AnotherStitchInTime · 28/08/2013 09:49

Hope your scan goes well MrsA :)

Enjoy Belgium Tooth, hope transport behaves for you.

I used Avent reusable breast pads with both mine and some had Asda disposables just in case I didn't get them washed and dried in time. I much preferred the reusables as they were softer and didn't slide around as much. I found the disposable ones tended to fold over and the itchy plastic side irritated me, they are also not as big as the reusables.

I have felt lots of kicks, but not yet strong enough for DH to feel, still got 2 weeks until the scan, really, really want to know all is ok and whether the baby is a boy or a girl now.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 28/08/2013 10:07

mrsA Woo hoo! Good luck today, hope it goes brilliantly.

tooth you jet-setter! Have a lovely waffle for me, I am Envy.

I'm off to Cambridge this evening to see MIL for her 60th birthday. Quite looking forward to it - I am very lucky to have an awesome MIL, who is not at all interfering.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 28/08/2013 10:14

Toby OT, but I am shaking pom poms for you on the Rein/Reign thread! Every time you post I am filled with glee...

TobyLerone · 28/08/2013 10:20

I should probably reign it in :o But Chipping has always had a bee in her bonnet about me, so it's nothing new.

Have a lovely time in Cambridge. I've never been, but I'd like to go.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 28/08/2013 10:40

toby here here. You looser.

Cambridge is lovely, but a bit odd and otherworldly!

Penny31 · 28/08/2013 11:02

Good luck mrsa!

I am in two minds about my NCT course. It's in October as that's the one for November and December due dates. My due date is now 20th of December you see. BUT I'm the latest due date and the provisional date for the postnatal meet up is 15th December! I emailed my concerns and they said that the date won't be set until everyone at the session is in agreement. I already feel like the odd one out. Do you think I should see if they will change my dates to a later one? The only thing is I would have to go further afield and the idea was to make new friends in my town.

extracrunchy · 28/08/2013 11:17

(Toby and Humpty - me too Grin but I was just enjoying getting off on the technical points and can't be bothered to argue any more)

extracrunchy · 28/08/2013 11:23

Penny I'd definitely go with the nearer one. No point making friends with nearer due dates who there's no way you'll meet up with after the arrival - cos trust me, even a little trip in the car feels like a big deal with a newborn!

And being at the tail end is better than being the first to pop because there'll be lots of people already in the same boat who'll be sympathetic but just a tiny bit more experienced. In terms of your little one and his/her little friends in the group - being younger (and only very very slightly!) is also better as there's loads to copy and learn!

MrsGSR · 28/08/2013 11:35

Good luck MrsA!

fx those who are traveling have easy journeys :)

Went to the doctors this morning and I have a water infection, so he's prescribed me something.
DH is now working late so I have to take our car to the garage and walk the mile or so home, which I'm really not looking forward to!

BookTart · 28/08/2013 11:46

Hope the infection clears soon mrsgsr.

Got home from Dorset last night to find that one of the cats is poorly, so have spent the morning at the vet with her. She has to keep going back, but sadly I have the midwife tomorrow so DP can take her instead. He is not best pleased :)

Very achy this morning but all the twitching seems to have stopped. Had a listen with the doppler and the hb is still there and strong, so I think she is just knackered after all yesterday's excitement!

Just off to see toby kick ass on another thread Grin

Frizz1986 · 28/08/2013 12:45

Good luck mrsa

Hope all those travelling have good journeys.
Am v jealous of Belgium. Mmmmmm chocolate and waffles. Think I need some chocolate now.

Think I felt a prod last night. Cant wait until DH can feel it as I think he will be uber happy. He seems to get more excited by the day about our little bundle.
When do you think dh should be able to feel.... Have an ap too so am sure that will delay it a bit and it seems so sporadic at the moment so by the time i feel something and dh comes over it has all stopped.

mrsg hope the infection clears up soon

book sorry about the cat. Hope all turns out well. Our dog is at the vets today for an xray as she has been limping lots. I was in uber tears last night as she has to be under anaesthetic and I am terrified of something going wrong. Felt like an idiot when dh came home and saw me blubbering so much as am sure she will be fine (she is a bit of our little princess tho)

Cant remember what else has been happening...... Do you think we will ever get our memory back???

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 28/08/2013 13:30

(extra you're not allowed to argue. It makes some people sad Grin)

penny I agree - best to be last in the queue than first, that way you get to see what everyone else does and learn from it. Hope you manage to get it sorted either way! And as for feeling the odd one out - aww, you won't be! They'll all be jealous that you aren't as big/swollen-footed/knackered as they are!

mrsg ugh, poor you. Hope it buggers off soon.

book poor cat, hope she is okay.

frizz fx for your dog, and yay for prods!

I have massive broody womb-clenches today (IYSWIM, not literally!), there is a seven year old boy in, interviewing our Director for his school project and I think I luffs him a little. He is so wee and confident and adorable. I am doing that smile with downturned edges that is almost weeping every time he says something. He made a model of one of the tombs in the Valley of the Kings... out of Lego howls

enjoyingscience · 28/08/2013 13:32

ooh holidays. Jealous.

DP felt a kick last night, which was hilarious as he jumped about a foot in the air. Don't think he was expecting it! He was the same with DS - I think he thinks it's a bit freaky :)

I'm drowning in house move stress. Our buyer looks shaky at best, and everything takes sooo long. I really want DS to be settled by the time this one arrives, it will just be too much for him otherwise :(

Get well soon to all the pets!

extracrunchy · 28/08/2013 13:44

It gets freaky when you can actually see the baby move and it's obvious which end is which. That used to put me on edge a bit!

TobyLerone · 28/08/2013 15:04

Sorry, I had to give up on the arse-kicking and get my hair cut :o
