The earrings got lost in the sea in Barbados just one actually, I still have the other, I was snorkelling took off my mask and ripped out one earring....

Necklace I was told to remove on a flight as we aren't allowed to wear them due to uniform grooming standards I took it off and put it in my crew bag and have never seen it again Hmm

He won't let me claim on the house hold insurance as I lost my watch about 18 months ago and he let me claim for that. As you can see jewellery and me don't mix too well.

MrsO27 · 13/08/2013 17:59

Oh and I can't remember who mentioned touching baby's foot, I've not been able to distinguish any feet yet but it made me smile when I read that. Can't wait to touch my baby's feet and hands and just everything when it's born. They're so close to us at the moment, but so far, if that makes sense...

cazboldy · 13/08/2013 18:00

other than the first time I have always seen my placentas as they have checked to make sure they are all there, it's quite interesting really! - but I wouldn't want to eat it

cows often do though Grin looks a bit chewy to me!

claphammama · 13/08/2013 18:10

Love it flyer- diamond earring lost in the Barbados sea! Can it get even more glamorous? can it...? were you snorkeling with Daniel Craig perhaps...? And was your reaction anything like ?

Mrs027 welcome to the chin hair club! Grin

Right... I'm going home... I've worked so hard today... time to go

ComtesseDeFrouFrou · 13/08/2013 18:12

MrsO I keep forgetting too, until I am reminded... now sitting here clenching Grin

As for a push present, I suspect I will not be that lucky, but it is our 4th wedding anniversary in mid-October, by which time the baby will definitely be here. Apparently the traditional present for the 4th anniversary is fruit or flowers Hmm

Well, at least if he buys me fruit it will help with the post-birth poo situation Grin

It sounds way more glam than it is Clapham, I was snorkelling with the turtles, one came really close to me scared the living day lights out of me and I ripped off the mask and out came the earring. Oh and I was on a cheapie work ticket...So not that glam really Grin

TheFalconsmistress · 13/08/2013 18:26

Sorry roxvox my heads up my bum most days it is an interesting concept though I never got one last time I think i would like one but wont be sad if i don't get one.

flyer It would be the end of my world if I lost diamonds!! Barbados so glamorous I wish my life was like that there is a distinct lack of glamour here!

MrsO the card sounds lovely not seen many from husband though but it really sounded sweet xxx

Flyer747 · 13/08/2013 18:38

Falcon trust me it sounds way more glam than it is....I only get to travel to these places because of my job, otherwise no chance could I afford to go. And the job can be pretty lousy at times working Xmas, New year, bank holidays. However I'm sat in bed at the moment (I keep going dizzy and feeling sick) in my big pants, with my dog as dp has a meeting, looking and feeling very unglam!! Grin I feel a minger.

Pinkforboys · 13/08/2013 18:44

Flyer love it- you should get together with my DH- his wedding ring is somewhere in the bottom of Sydney Harbour Hmm
I'd love a push present, DCs initials on a pendant would be lovely, but Dh ain't that romantic... perhaps I should get him one and wear it for him...Wink

Pinkforboys · 13/08/2013 18:47

ps- on a practical note, I was clearing out drawers today and came across my mega-pads. Have you got those in your hospital bag? Absolute necessity if far from glam.
Also- i remembered the need for the mattress protector pad. Last time my waters broke at 2 in the morning and the pad saved our bed!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 13/08/2013 18:51

I won't be eating the placenta but I will be expecting a push present!! For ds I got a lovely bracelet from a certain well known jewellery store beginning with T***y and I know they do other items in the same range- am hinting for the matching earrings!! Grin. Unfortunately the bracelet is mainly in my jewellery box as I never actually go anywhere worthy of wearing nice jewellery to! I've removed my engagement ring as the stone catches on stuff ad worried I will scratch ds with it- it's not that huge of course but one doesn't want ones diamonds covered in baby poo no matter how big or small Grin!!

Sanjifair · 13/08/2013 18:56

I will definitely not be eating my placenta. I was 2 weeks over with DS and they described it as 'gritty and starting to fail'. I donated it to a clinical study.

I did get a push present last time, a very simple necklace from Tiffany, which I wear all the time. I won't say no if I get one again!

roxvox · 13/08/2013 19:03

I think it was about 10 threads ago back when we all about 14 weeks along falcon, so I don't expect you to remember!

I would love something as a push present, but am perfectly happy with a healthy baby if nothing else Grin

That's 2 or 3 posts I have read now as "definitely will be eating my placenta", clearly I am not concentrating! I won't be eating mine, but I would like to see it. They showed one on TV a few weeks ago (on 'Don't just stand there, I am having your baby' or something) and I couldn't believe how huge it was!

terrifiednewbie · 13/08/2013 19:04

bowlful- another week and thats it (I hope)
Happy to look at, squidge/play with placenta but definitely not eat it (i'm glad i'm vegetarian already!)
tweezers are a must for me right now too!

roofio87 · 13/08/2013 19:08

Have decided that I will invest in some maternity mattress protectors for the last few weeks just in case my waters break when in bed. I wouldn't be so bothered but dp has just bought us a new expensive bed and mattress and I don't want to ruin it!!

HotSoupDumpling · 13/08/2013 19:12

I thought I wouldn't want a proclaimed 'push present' cause I like to consider myself a non-materialistic and pious lefty, but clearly I've fallen off the wagon because if some initialled charm necklace/locket, massive card, flowers etc came my way I would definitely be very very happy!

terrified - me too, I'd love to have a prod at the placenta, as I'm fascinated by such things. But not sure DH would cope with me slicing it up and frying it...

Re mattress protectors, I heard that medical supply incontinence sheets from Amazon do a great job and are cheaper.

I love hearing about flyer's glam job! (Whatever you say, we still consider it to be glam!)

No chin-hairs but lots of belly hairs here. Have really lapsed with the pelvic floor exercises but I had a bit of a wake-up call today in the form of a little accident after a really sudden violent retch. So embarrassing.

Flyer747 · 13/08/2013 19:14

Is anyone else feeling crap? I have felt off colour all day. Dizzy, feel sick and it feels like my heart is beating really fast and a bit out of breath. I'm sure it's just pregnancy woes but I've taken to my bed as I feel so lousy.

thethreeblondies · 13/08/2013 19:26

Have u had ur iron levels checked flyer I feel like that if I've missed my iron tablet, bloods came back slightly anemic x

claphammama · 13/08/2013 19:32

I've been feeling crap all day flyer - perhaps the air pressure is down today? It's raining now in London.

Also feeling crap because DS went on holidays to Italy with his dad today and I won't see him for almost two weeks. Sad Sad Sad Perhaps this is why I've been feeling a bit down since we came back from Greece...Just to clarify, DP is not his biological dad but stepdad. DS is my ex husband's son. Somehow I didn't have a chance to mention it on the thread before. So now I'm home on my own with DS in Italy and DP in the US... missing my two boys... and cooking pasta with broccoli for one

I actually didn't think about a push present at all, didn't even cross my mind. But now I think I may want one too Grin. No idea what though - I got a beautiful engagement ring at the beginning of the year so might have emptied DP's safe with this onee... so not expecting anything major

Flyer747 · 13/08/2013 19:43

Yes three at my 28 week mw appointment. She said she would call if they were low and haven't heard anything. I did think maybe iron levels though.

Lucky DS with all these holidays clapham, he's a little jet setter at the age of 5.....will you get to speak to dp tonight on Skype? Maybe will help cheer you up. Where in the US is he? I'm sure he is missing you just as much as you are missing him Thanks

Soupqueen · 13/08/2013 19:43

Feeling crap here too. I'm blaming tiredness/work stress. Hope we're all feeling much better tomorrow.

claphammama · 13/08/2013 19:53

thanks flyer x DP is in Seattle... bloody 8 hours time difference. And in meetings all day so doubt will manage to speak to him tonight. He called me earlier today though when he woke up at 4am - welcome jetlag!

And yes, isn't DS one lucky boy?!

kiwee · 13/08/2013 20:00

terrified - We're in Dunedin at the minute but have moved around a lot last few years (Waikato and Wellington) with DH's training. Get to stay here again next year though before moving again the following December!

Over here you choose a midwife to be your Lead Maternity Carer and see them for all your antenatal appointments and birth (you get to choose one who does home or hospital deliveries, though some do offer both). They can refer you to hospital if need consultant input at any point during pregnancy. It was a bit overwhelming having to choose at the start but been really good in terms of continuity - appreciate all the more having read your experiences of seeing someone different each time!

PseudoBadger · 13/08/2013 20:20

Sorry you're all alone Clapham xx

Flyer please give the midwife a ring if you're at all worried x
