tucking I had SPD with sc2 and was on crutches from early on. After delivery I was surprised to still be sore, I remember going to post natal shape up class run by physios and still being in pain. It gradually faded but my pelvis was always sore to touch so I saw a Physio when dc2 was 18 months old. Turns out my pelvis had healed out of alignment so needed manipulated back into place.

Sorry to be voice of doom but need to be aware it doesn't always go away immediately after birth. I would advise insisting on seeing physios before discharge from hospital as you will have no chance if seeing them afterwards

Hello. I was on holiday for 2 weeks and it's taken me another 2 weeks to catch up with the fast moving threads! (I'm blaming work :))
Welcome to all the new pregnant ladies. Sorry that people are having a tough time with SPD, PE and inactive babies. I've been feeling a bit rubbish with heartburn and very tired. I thought it was just the lack of sleep, due to leg cramps and the baby waking me up by kicking me, but turns out I'm a bit anaemic, so hopefully might feel a bit better after some iron tablets.

Everyone sounds so organised! I have a Moses basket and car seat that I need to dig out from the garage and check are ok, but I haven't bought anything new yet. Could do with a new pram, so loving hearing what you're all getting. Must get some basic baby stuff over the next few weeks. Hoping I'll get a chance once the DCs are back at school/nursery.

Roofio I had a rare Saturday off work today, however I'm actually based at the branch in Warrington as the Liverpool store were full, shame as all the girls there are lovely, and I get stuck with my horrible boss who has just lost another member of staff this week, that makes 7 people who have left in 18 months because of her! Roll on maternity leave.

Been at pil today and don't wanna brag but I have lovely in laws, don't get too involved but involved just enough, the right balance. They are the nicest in laws I've had to date, so I can sympathise will all you that have crappy ones.

Natalieand · 10/08/2013 22:32

Atchly just wanted to add this,

support belt

Especially for u MoN as I no your unhappy with the shape of your bump I'm a size 22ish pre pregnancy so definately do not have the best tummy but if I wear this it neatens my belly up really well and gives me a nice shaped bump I find the extra large which is usually for a size 18/20 person fits perfectly fine giving a nice shape without being too tight and for they price I didn't mind paying it.

Flyer747 · 10/08/2013 22:39

Pink on the buggy front, I have a bugaboo cameleon, however it is second hand and came off a friend and in really decent nick, before she offered me this I wanted a Joolz Day Earth buggy in elephant grey, I've seen the buggy and its absolutely lovely and I've only seen one in the street, but looks really stylish...however the bugaboo was offered to me for £300 and is as good as new so I couldn't refuse it.
The Joolz gets great reviews and I'm starting to wish I'd just bought it now.

tuckingfits · 10/08/2013 22:43

Thanks everyone,it's good to get a balanced view on spd & the advice on having it in my birth plan is excellent,I'm meeting the labour suite manager (midwife) in two weeks & she is going to help me write a plan that is realistic & meets my requirements as well as those of the consultant & midwives. All depends on placenta moving as to what kind of birth I can aim for. I also appreciate the advice to see the physios before discharge, pelvis healing misaligned does not sound fun at all.

Turning over in bed at night is deeply uncomfortable - I get the usual spd pains plus feels as though I've pulled the muscles at the bottom either side of my bump. It's not a lot of fun. And I also sleep with a bottle of peptac on my bedside table to glug to ease the heartburn. It's a bloody nightmare!! Am sure if my first pregnancy had been this uncomfortable, annoying & exhausting I wouldn't be doing it again! What makes it worse for me is the anterior placenta preventing me feeling my baby girl moving & kicking most of the time. I'm disappointed not to feel her because I felt so much more bonded to my son who squirmed & kicked all the time. Not that she isn't,I just can't feel her.

tuckingfits · 10/08/2013 22:46

Whinge whinge whinge!

Natalieand · 10/08/2013 22:49

flyer just googled the joolz as you do and don't think I've ever seen one in the street. And this is the first time I've ever heard of it

Flyer747 · 10/08/2013 22:52

Nat one came past me in debenhams one day when I was at work, I jumped off my chair and followed her around the store until I could get a good look at the brand on the side of it....I must have looked like a right weirdo, haha Grin it's really stylish, oh well maybe next time.

MotherOfNations · 10/08/2013 23:08

Just checking in after a stressful day shopping for school shoes. I didn't get home until 7.30. Today is enough to put me off having any more children after this one. I can barely walk now, my hips are in agony.

So happy everything is ok Jelly

MrsO as Tarlia has said underwired bras are only a problem if they don't fit correctly. DO NOT under any circumstances go to M&S or Mothercare for a bra fitting as they along with many others use the outdated measuring system of adding 4 inches to the rib cage measurement meaning that you end up with a bra that is around 4 cup sizes too small. Bravissimo, Debenhams and John Lewis are you're best bets on the high street.

Natalie I've been living in over the bump maternity leggings from asda to help smooth my bump. Only 8 weeks left so it seems pointless buying anything else now though the support bands do look good.

Tarlia Nothing wrong with your pram choice. I've bought a big 3 in 1 too though mine is an unbranded one from an eBay shop. Only £247 including car seat. I loved the look of the silver cross sleepover but couldn't justify the cost for a 5th baby.

Nellysgirl · 11/08/2013 00:34

Hey everyone,
Am I the only one that dreads going to bed through being fed up of waking a short while later?
I am currently struggling to get comfortable, then the restless legs kick in and my 200 toilet trips due to the worlds most persistent water infection. Oh not to mention Braxton hicks too...
Bahhhhh! Sorry to be so negative I'm just offloading - I don't think I can bore my DP with this same speach each night - he's a good man and helps me alot so try not to drag him down! Xx

TheFalconsmistress · 11/08/2013 00:49

Your not alone nellys I was very naughty and had 2 glasses of low alcohol wine in the hope the pains would ease tonight nope. Not long now is my new mantra Grin

Nellysgirl · 11/08/2013 01:01

Ahh yes that sounds nice falcon!
I wish I had some too. And not naughty at all in my opinion especially if low alcohol! Tell me, is it really good?
I'm just choking down a banana smoothie (hate banana) in the hope that my legs will behave in bed tonight Wink
As a first timer, I wonder, does everyone feel like they are going to have an early baby?
My BH combined with alot of pressure 'down there' and babys head down position at all my appointments is kind of making me feel like baby wants out of there!
Sorry for taking over, been holding it all in and smiling through my niggles as to be fair I've had a great pregnancy otherwise xxx

favellio · 11/08/2013 05:06

I'm with you there! My sleep is constantly broken by leg cramps or restless legs, braxton hicks, weeing and the constant need to keep rolling over to change sides, as my hips lock badly, meaning I'm more and more reliant on crutches during the day.
My DH is amazing but I know he feels at a complete loss as to what to do to help me Hmm

HotSoupDumpling · 11/08/2013 06:14

Snap fav, am also having so little sleep nowadays. Luckily I can have a nap during the day. Euggggghhh - Been awake since 4, itchy legs, stuffy nose, toilet trips...

Whoever recommended the baby bjorn bouncer - thank you! Was perving at it on Amazon just the other day and wondering if I can justify the price.

Tarlia, your fall sounds horrendous, hope you are feeling better. I'd love a massive cosy pram, the only thing stopping me is that I would only ever be able to manoeuvre it on a flat polished surface like a gym or airport...not on the numerous obstacles of East London pavements!

Natalieand · 11/08/2013 07:26

Right there with u nelly change position, wee, drink, cramp, dh snore. Even if I just have a drink with my dinner I'm still up for a rediculous amount of wee's then by the time I get comfy and think I'm falling asleep I start debating if I need a wee again? 9 weeks and 1 day to go!! It has to fly by doesn't it? And as for feeling like I'm gunna have the baby early I think its just wishful thinking on our parts lol

Shirehobbit · 11/08/2013 07:33

I think I need to join the collective whinge this morning. Even worse than usual last night; the dog has an upset stomach, so with his pit stops, my pee stops and the baby's prancing, very little sleep was had here.
There will be napping, later.....

ComtesseDeFrouFrou · 11/08/2013 07:33

Morning all. Thankfully a slightly better night's sleep for me last night - good job as I was shattered.

We had our first NCT class yesterday and I was really pleased not to have my worries borne out. The tutor was very balanced and helpful, totally non-judgemental. We'll see if the BF session later this week is as good!

I'm getting to the stage now where I just want to get stuff done in the baby's room but we can't until the radiator goes back on the wall, then the floor can be finished, then we need to enlist someone string to help DH move the furniture back in, then I can finally start sorting clothes etc out. I think we've got most things, I'm jut finding it a bit frustrating not to be able to see it all set up and sorted out.

ComtesseDeFrouFrou · 11/08/2013 07:35

Oh, I forgot, HotSoup we also got a BabyBjorn bouncer - an eBay bargain that someone local was selling. Lets hope te baby likes it!

MrsO27 · 11/08/2013 09:17

Thanks also for the baby bjorn babysitter bouncer recommendation. Started looking last night and it gets fantastic reviews across a number of sites. Felt it was a bit on the pricey side, and is out of stock at John Lewis, so bid on one on eBay instead and low and behold, up this morning to find I have won it, along with the toy bar which is usually £25 extra. Saved myself about £70 and because the whole cover is machine washable the fact that's it's used doesn't bother me either as I'll just wash it myself before baby arrives.
Sympathise with all those not sleeping. The wee stops/leg cramps for me are a pest, but for those with SPD too it must be horrendous. Flowers
I've also ordered the bravado silk nursing bra from John Lewis, will give it a go and if it's no use (or gives me mono boob) I will return it. mon I got fitted pre-pregnancy at M&S for a bra and the fitter was really good, but she didn't use a formula, she could kind of just tell by looking at me what my size was. Reckon women like her are a rarity though!

bluesnowfalcon · 11/08/2013 09:23

Morning all - sleep not too bad apart from the numerous pee stops!

com I'm like you just waiting for dh to get cracking in baby's room so I can sort out what I've got and. What I need.

Off swimming with ds today and then to mums for lunch:)

Hope everyone has a good day x

roofio87 · 11/08/2013 09:26

well I didn't sleep well either. Didn't get to bed until 12 30 as was out at my friend's (which I actually really enjoyed in the end!) awake lots of times in the night for wees and cramp in my leg. then woken up at 8 30 by builders down the road!! I know lots of you with dcs already don't get lie ins but this is my last time for them so im fumimg when they get disturbed haha!!

Natalieand · 11/08/2013 09:37

Dh has a list of jobs today of course ill help as we've no money to go out and very few days off between now and the birth (64 days to go)
He's gunna wish he had a spare £50 for a day out by the end of it lol. He just jokingly said to dd 'if I've got all this to do I think I need sausage and eggs for breakfast' to which dd replied ''no dad u can't eat eggs they have baby chicks' .... Don't u just love their innocence lol

Haylebop12 · 11/08/2013 09:41

Lie in until 9am here, thanks dd. (although it was 10pm before she was down) sorry to those having rough nights. Fortunately last night was better for me and I was up just once for the loo.

Right wwyd....

You live in a compact (rented) 2 bed house. Ling term rental property so no problems there. Second bedroom will not accommodate two children so baby in master room until bigger house. However, location is spot on as its a lovely estate that's just a stones throw from dds school.

Then...

A large, detached, with garage, 4 bed comes up for rent still roughly a stones throw from school, slightly further away, still walkable for just an extra £100 a month rent. Tenancy on previous 2 bed is up in 12th sept so that's when you would be moving (roughly).

I'll be 36 weeks..... We're going to view next week.... Would you move that late?

Obviously there are a couple factors that need to slot in place like the date the property is available from and how long term the rental is. If its just 6 months then no chance.

Natalieand · 11/08/2013 09:46

haylebop I say do it! I moved into my house I'm in now when I was 39 weeks with dd plus think of it like this, u never no when an opportunity like that to move for that price will come up again and u may regret it forever.

In jan we turned down a 3 bed detached bungalow with garage and drive way in a rather posh area next door to dh's grandparents (who we usually get on v well with) for an extra £100 as we didn't no when dh's wages were going to go up and like a week after we said no his wages went up then two weeks after that I found out I was pregnant and now were stuck in a 2 bed house regretting it big time!
