No decisions are being made until after the viewing anyway. Dhs wages are pretty good and I think the extra rent is doable, even with my drop in wages. Think we may have to have the joing account weve been avoiding! if dh didnt have a loan that costs him £400pm we would have moved into something similar first time round in march instead of this one. The £1000 deposit may be a little harder to
Find! I had dd at 37+5 so a little concerning but my mum lives literally 2 mins away so we could always stop there if I have baby earlier then expected or during the time we would need to move.

Shirehobbit · 11/08/2013 10:04

I don't think anyone would tell you that it won't be hard/challenging to move at 36weeks pregnant, but it really does seem a case of short term pain for long term gain.
But a positive viewing is essential! Good luck Smile

Flyer747 · 11/08/2013 10:05

Hayle I say the same as Nat if you like after viewing it then go for it. Yes it's a bit of a pain time wise but you'll have loads more space which I'm sure you'll love. We moved beginning of June from our bachelor type pad (2 beds) was dp's before we met into a 4 bed house and I love all the space, at the moment we are literally rattling around inside until the baby comes along.

HotSoupDumpling · 11/08/2013 10:18

Hayle, my friend moved house at roughly the same time. She wasn't stressed, she just took it in her stride. I was really impressed and inspired by how she dealt with it! As the other say, there will be exhausting frustrating moments, but it will be great in the long term. This is coming from someone in a two bed flat wondering how to fit baby's clothes in the existing wardrobes!

Haylebop12 · 11/08/2013 10:25

I think I've already decided that if the viewing goes well and it's a long term thing ie. few years (when we should be blue to buy) then we will push to get every thing sorted. I'm fairly laid back so wouldn't really stress about actually moving, dh does all the stressing! It's the sorting of boxes afterwards!

MrsO27 · 11/08/2013 10:37

Go for it hayle or you'll regret it! Have you got plenty of friends/family etc. that can help with the move/packing?

cazboldy · 11/08/2013 10:39

Morning all.

Off swimming this morning.

Keep feeling the baby having hiccups - so lovely Smile

Haylebop12 · 11/08/2013 10:42

Yeah we have got help. I think plans may be scuppered if property isn't available when we need it... Oh we'll we will see..... Trying not to get too excited.

Flyer747 · 11/08/2013 11:00

Hayle would you still consider the property if the initial rental agreement was just for 6 months? Only reason I say this is dp has rental properties and when new tennants move in he only ever signs a contract with them for 6 months, just in case. Obviously if they turn out to be decent tennants then he has no issues with long term contract, just something worth asking the landlord if they say 6 months initially. I hope it turns out to be exactly what you're looking for.

Haylebop12 · 11/08/2013 11:04

Yes I understand flyer. The property were in now we have a sixth month tenancy on but it's a property that's been rented out for 13 years.

Our last property we signed for 12 months to be surprisingly told that we couldn't re-sign as they were moving back in! I don't mind signing for six as long as I have some guarantee that if both parties are happy we can continue to live there for a few years.

Pinkforboys · 11/08/2013 11:14

Hayleybop- if the extra £100 a month is manageable then it sounds fantastic. By 36 weeks your nesting-instincts should be in full flow and make moving a breeze Grin
I had a friend who pushed her DH into moving into a 'project' just as baby was due (both architects). She ended up breast-feeding alternately in car and on picnic blanket in the back of the garden to avoid all the building dust. Mad.

DH has left the house with DC so I could sort out the house in peace and so far I haven't shifted from the internet...Amazon is a treasure trove of Baby Bjorn bouncers but for every bargain my eye gets distracted by a beautiful new model from the States (chocolate brown, organic soft cotton...). I need a filter!

Is anyone bothering with a Changing bag this time round? I seem to remember treating myself last time as a 'me present' and finding it heavy, bulky and ended up resorting to a standard pretty bag from Accessorise with some nappies, mat, spare clothes and wipes thrown in. I'm hoping to b-f again so not expecting to lug bottles around. Any thoughts out there? happybags is a really tempting website....

Better go do some clearing out before I'm sprung!

Bronzemoth · 11/08/2013 12:27

Pink, I'm another crouch ender and also at the Whittington so keeping fingers crossed for the birthing cwntre Rather than the labour ward,

I'm glad it's not just me stalking prams! I hope I don't look like a baby snatching loon. We are going for a cossatti one. It has a which best buy but also has some bad reviews because of breakages on earlier models. But oh (the artistic one of us) liked the fabric! and it is half the price of a bugaboo. We plan to get it from John Lewis as extra insurance in case it goes wrong.

Natalieand · 11/08/2013 12:35

bronze is that the cosatto giggle? That was mine and dh first choice but u can't get a base to secure the co-ordinatibg car sear in the car and that was top if our priority list x

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 11/08/2013 13:07

Sympathies to everyone feeling rotten. I am well and truly in the horrible heart burn club. Seemed to have swoped puking every night up until 16 weeks for nightly heartburn attacks.

SPD experts - can i ask for your advice? Does this sound like SPD or just normal pregnancy niggles? Sharp pain & tenderness in the centre of my pubic bone (above pubic
hairline but under my bump), painful trying to turning over in bed and painful walking especially after sitting down for
a bit? It's like I sort of seize up if I'm not moving for while.

Shire - i hope your dog's tummy has settled down.

Hayle - good luck with the house viewing.

tuckings - this pregnancy has been harder than my first too. It's such a shame as this will definitely be my last and I loved being pregnant last time. I'm sorry to hear you are feeling a little less connected to your baby than you were with DC1. I am getting plenty of movements (posterior placenta) but I don't have that exclusive "baby and me in our own little world" bonded feeling I had with DD. I suspect it's simply because I already have DD to love.

I'm sure once our babies are actually here we will bond just as strongly.

Pink - I'm going for the BabyBjorn bouncer balance soft and will definitely be treating myself to a changing bag I love. I know from last time that I'll be using it for years.

Is your DS going into Yr1 or Yr2 after the summer?

Pinkforboys · 11/08/2013 13:26

Oooh Bronze I like the Cossatto. I'll definitely spot you in C End, and may be tempted to join you with one of their beautiful prints....

Bridget my DS is into Yr2 in September. Poor thing has a 31 August birthday so is absolute youngest in his year, though you wouldn't know it. DD will be the opposite. I still don't know what's better....
Any recommendations on the changing bag front...??

roofio87 · 11/08/2013 13:37

aww dp is at a work course this week on thurs and Friday in derby so 60 miles away and has just announced that he's going to drive there and back each day as he doesn't want to leave me on my own over night!! fortunately his boss said its ok in the company van so won't cost us any money!!

Flyer747 · 11/08/2013 13:57

Pink quite a few of us on here bought the bababing paternity bag, it's grey and was recommended by claphammama. I think boots have it on special offer at the moment.

Oh yes def hayle you want some type of guarantee imagine having to relocate with a small baby.

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 11/08/2013 14:00

roofio - your DP sounds a real sweetie (did he do all that cleaning and gardening recently too?) Mr Hairy just gives me Confused faces when I mention feeling a tad vulnerable when he's away (especially overseas).

Pink - my DD is going into Yr2 too (7 in December) - funny to think our little ones will just be starting school as our big ones move up into Secondary.

Moon - I hope the iron tablets do the job x

I love the sugarjack Gabi Messenger bag in terms of looks but the pricetag is Shock Shock Shock.....need to find something more reasonable.

Racheld33 · 11/08/2013 14:00

Sorry to say, I'm definately having a worse second pregnancy too. Just this past week my lower back is agony, and my hips have lots of pain if I try and do anything. Already had 2 naps today after a late night out with friends last night. Lovely DH has looked after DS all morning despite his roaring hangover Grin

On a positive note, my parents have just bought us a baby bjorn bouncer which looks lovely Smile

Flyer747 · 11/08/2013 14:02

Oh and my dog has turned mega needy and keeps whining, it's starting to do my head in, maybe she senses change shortly ahead.

PseudoBadger · 11/08/2013 14:13

I'll catch up properly later, but just wanted to celebrate discuss whether it's ok to be a kilo lighter now than I was at 24 weeks (I'm 31 weeks). That means I've lost weight during this 3rd tri.

to Whittington buddies! My elcs is booked for the 7th October.

roofio87 · 11/08/2013 15:50

pseudo ive not put any weight on since 24 weeks. it makes me a bit worried about baby too, but my mw sqid as long as my bumps growing then she's not worried. I also know baby has grown because can feel him getting bigger and giving stronger kicks. but if you're worried talk to your mw about it if u can!!

ananikifo · 11/08/2013 16:26

pseudo I've done a bunch of research on this on the last week and you shouldn't worry. Baby takes from your nutritional stores. Try to take care of yourself and eat enough for your own health though, and I really believe in antenatal multivitamin/mineral supplements taken all the way through pregnancy.

I also wonder whether we should expect a little bit of water loss now that the weather is cooler. I know my feet are less swollen than they were.

ananikifo · 11/08/2013 16:30

I should have said, you shouldn't worry as long as baby is measuring ok, but roofio already said it too.

Wickedgirl · 11/08/2013 16:32

Hayley........I too say go for it as long as you get a removal company in. I moved and ds2 came along 4 days later. It was easy though as my SIL looked after my older 2 (aged 3 and 5) on the moving day and a removal company did all if the hard work. I kept my hospital bags and newborn car seat in my car just in case and had 4 people cleaning the new house so that everything was clean enough for me to bring a new baby home should the worse happen.

I have no regrets about any of it
