Just Shagging Grads, here is your shiny new Fred!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The last thread saw plenty of births and we've got loads of new Grads to add to the mix. Bring on the TMI posts, the midnight moans, the birthwatches and the pom poms!

Our stats thread is here, so if you find us, please add your stats too.

There is also a Just Mumming thread for grads of the grads thread

And if you want to find out what Just Shagging is about or catch up with the undergrads go say hello to the Just Shaggers here, now on the 17th thread.

rock! That is fantastic news! I'm so glad - after your sad experience before, I was crossing everything for you. Hurrah hurrah for that!

That's brilliant news rock! Congratulations!

wavesandsmiles · 24/08/2013 08:10

Hooray for fantastic scan news Grin

Caspian is 4 weeks old today. I think the time slow down during pregnancy is now being compensated for as it seems that time is completely flying by.

Hyperemesis now seems a distant memory although I am now comfortably back in all my clothes apart from some tops. Breastfeeding boobs are much bigger than pregnant boobs even. Be warned!

PrincessKitKat · 24/08/2013 09:07

That's worrying nork-news Waves. I don't think mine can get much bigger without me falling over Confused
But lovely to hear how happy you are with your little one!

How is everyone feeling today?

cookielove · 24/08/2013 16:12

waves it does feel like I am in a never ending wait just to get to 12 weeks!

I've got my booking in on the 2nd of Sept :)

Sooooo tired and struggling to want to eat anything. Plus my mouth taste yucky and I have a horrible gag reflex when brushing which has increased in pregnancy. But I really don't care that much cause I'm pregnant Grin

Nessalina · 25/08/2013 00:11

Glad they got your booking appt sorted out Cookie - hurrah! Grin

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 25/08/2013 20:49

cookie not to depress you, but 14-20 weeks is the WORST wait. IME. Nothing changes, you don't really start to show particularly unless you are teeny and twiglike unlike tall hefty me and you don't get much movement until around 18 weeks on average (I'm still waiting for serious movement at 21 + 2, due to anterior placenta).
Also, I have the gag thing. I can suggest 'Gin-Gins' from Holland and Barrett, they're ginger pastilles, which are chewy. V strong, and very 'huffy' ginger flavour (IYSWIM) and they really seriously help. Otherwise I want to puke in the shower/when considering tooth brushing. One of those first thing, during the shower, sorts me out, and it's gone by the time I am ready to brush.

waves happy four weeks, Caspian! And so glad you're no longer suffering, you had such a rough time.

You mean it gets worse than 4-12 weeks?! Surely not, I'm going mental!! Shock Ha. Feeling more zen today, had a nice bank holiday with family, told my folks who are very excited Smile
Trying not to wish my life away, but I hate not being able to tell the world, so I've got my eye firmly on 17th Oct (12 week day!) - it feels miles off!
5+4 Grin

Hooya · 26/08/2013 00:46

Hello! I'm on maternity leave!

I am gutted to be stopping work in some ways but I'm so huge now I'm also seriously relieved! Handover was the toughest but I'm delighted to be through it and looking forward to reading all the baby books, painting my nails, playing video games, meeting preg friends!

Congrats on the fab scans. Rock awesome news, isn't the relief incredible!

GBT glad things are going well and DC3 potential - exciting - are you keen?

waves 4 weeks already? That's crazy... how are the other DCs enjoying their new sibling?

Can't believe I'll meet my son in just over 2 weeks! Cookie I totally agree with Humpty - 12-20 drag by something terrible, gagging and lack of proper bumpily, then 20 - 35 seem to disappear even though they are the fun part!!

cookielove · 26/08/2013 08:57

Oh dear, it looks like a really long wait for me then ;s ahh well it will all be ok in the end! !

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 26/08/2013 18:54

nessa and cookie it is better, as you've had your 12 week scan, but unless you get to listen for heartbeat at 16 weeks (our Trust doesn't deign to do this), it's a very long wait. Oh well - I'm now 21+3 and it feels like yesterday I was 20 weeks and anxiously waiting for scan!

hooya happy Mat Leave! Sounds like you have great fun plans!

Just dropping by to check on the latest due dates! Welcome to the newbies too.
Good to see hooya and kitten still hanging in before me, totally Blush about being next!
Really feel for those in limbo waiting for 12/20 week scans....2ww doesn't seem so bad now does it?! Am 36+4 and just bought my first batch of raspberry leaf tea....eeeek!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 27/08/2013 11:47

frog!! No way are you the next, how on earth did that happen!!!!!!!

Good luck, shall send raspberry leaf tea scented vibes for not going over, and for having a lovely, easy, short labour (that totally works, right? Grin)

Just bought a whole load of mat clothes off preloved - seems to be a better selection on there than Ebay right now, for those who are looking... I have 5 tops at £5 each, no P&P. V reasonable.

Also, have cured the sicky feeling in the shower - turns out the 'eat first thing' rule was what was causing the problem. Shower first thing = much better. Almost didn't gag at all! Downside is that I'm hungrier earlier than usual...

Hooya · 27/08/2013 15:46

Hello!

frog believe me it is very scary when it's really you next! Shock

Humpty good news about the sickness! I found I was the opposite, had to had to eat first thing or I couldn't get through a shower without a good retching session! It seems a way ago now though!

I am studying all the baby books as if it were a work project... clearly not quite adjusted to leave yet, though I did have a lovely afternoon nap today!

thethreeblondies · 27/08/2013 20:19

Ladies feel free to hold on to those babies as long as possible I find it scary that I'm fourth in the queue Grin

Had discussion with mw today, booked in my 34 and 36 week appointments! She then added that she will be on call from 28th sept, that seems rather close to me! Although did feel suitably shocked in to finally sorting car seat and pushchair Grin

Nessalina · 28/08/2013 22:56

Six weeks today! Finally feeling sick, thought I might have got away with it Hmm No actual vom, just pretty much constant nausea. DH has been a saint, sorting out house stuff & cooking, but I felt awful turning my nose up at what he made for tea! Bad wife Confused

Hooya · 29/08/2013 09:15

three it's well scary at the sharp end of things isn't it!

nessa sorry you're sicky, the only good part is the reassurance it gives. Hope those early weeks go as quickly as they can for you!

So I had what turns out to be probably my last docs appointment before the big day! He says all is well, baby is big (already 7lb 11oz, with 2 weeks still to grow) and that unless anything scary happens he doesn't need to see me until the op! Shock. So weird knowing that next time I see him will probably be when he's getting ready to get this baby out!!

I've read all I can about C-sections now and feel ok about what happens I think... I just can't believe that by 10am on Tuesday 10th, all going well, we'll be meeting our wee boy!

Rockchick1984 · 29/08/2013 09:32

That's amazing Hooya I'm so jealous!! How long do you get off work? Will you be going back part or full time? No idea how any of it works over there!!

Hooya · 29/08/2013 13:58

I'm lucky rock as I'm still an expat so I get my UK terms and conditions. Going back full time in early January, and for a few days in Dec to try to acclimatise! Japan staff in my firm only get 8 weeks paid leave post birth, I get up to 16! I am very very nervous about being away from work, my job is boring to most people but i love it and it's a big part of me... just hoping I can adjust well enough to the even tougher job of parenthood!

Rockchick1984 · 29/08/2013 14:55

You will be an amazing mum, the best parents I know are ones who have things in life they are passionate about - could be job, hobby, pet cat, anything. Think if you can feel so strongly about anything, then you are pretty much guaranteed to be a good parent!

cookielove · 29/08/2013 19:39

hooya exciting! !

I feel dizzy lots or my head feels fuzzy!! 9 weeks today!

Hooya · 30/08/2013 03:43

Aw thanks rock, I did have a little cry to DP the other day basically saying "but what if I'm crap at being a mum?" so that's lovely to hear!

cookie hope you are not feeling too fuzzy or dizzy! I got that a couple of times and it was so tempting just to sleeeeeep... 9 weeks, just 3 to go until your big scan, hope they fly by!

Last day of mat leave on my own before DP joins on paternity leave next week - I'm looking forward to it, will be like being students again except for this giant baby I'm carrying around

frogchops · 01/09/2013 06:27

So.... Hooya promised me shed be next....and then its kittens turn.... I'm safe in third place..... And then my waters go. Eeeeeek!

MrsAVB · 01/09/2013 07:49

Wowzers... Good luck frog... Smile x

Hooya · 01/09/2013 07:53

Ooh loads of luck frog!! Wishing you a safe speedy labour!
