Hiya, just popping by to catch up with all the lovely bump news :):) your all sounding perfect ly mental just as it should be Grin

Sweetie look at carpel tunnel, it is apparently common when your pg.

cartoontrickster · 21/08/2013 14:36

keep I love tidying! cleaning not so much but needs must.
it should arrive tomorrow. I will make sure my rational head stays on when I give it a try. if I don't find it its more likely to be a fault with the operator than something wrong with treats, right Wink haha.

I will ask MrKeep when he gets home. Good plan. Though I have just looked up carpal tunnel syndrome, and sounds like that could be it. Excess fluid causing pressure on nerves or ligaments. Clever boo

SweetieTime · 21/08/2013 14:39

Thanks Boo never heard of it but will Google, although we all know the first rule of MN is NEVER Google anything but I think I can trust lovely Boo

keep I know where you are coming from, we moved from a smaller house yet seem to have no where to put all the stuff in the new bigger house. We must have at least 20 more boxes in the garage that we haven't even opened.

Maybe the twins sleep debate is a bit of a nightmare as some advice and in hospital they put them in together. But parents say one twin will often wake the other. So it is a case of being prepared for any situation. I suppose eventually they will have to go it alone in their own cots just because they will be too big to in together, but how cute will they look side by side???

Maybe on the animals front I have been thinking about how our very lively, often naughty, but not in anyway aggressive one year old pup will get on with the babies. How are you going to tackle this with yours? I know Otis is a much bigger dog so how are you feeling about introducing DC to him? My Mum is already saying we will have to get rid out ours, which we are having none of at the moment when she has done nothing wrong at all.

keepitgoing · 21/08/2013 14:47

Get rid of your dog?!?! WTF? My family always had dogs. I think that you should never trust them, even if they appear to be completely non aggressive. Because children will pull their tails, stand on them etc. And the least aggressive dog in the world could not be blamed for a nip or growl. So never leave them alone together, but encourage the child as young as possible to stroke gently, and love the animal. Same with cats.

My parents' dog is quite frankly not a fan of my niece. I think partly because of the attention she gets and partly because of the fact that she 'strokes' rather hard etc. So he tends to slope off when she's around. I suppose encouraging respect on each side, but always watching them, and you should be fine.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 21/08/2013 14:55

Sweetie! No!! Don't get rid of her!!! Am totally agreeing with Keep, no matter how much I trust him, is never leave him alone with a little one. He doesn't leave my side now, he knows there's something afoot.

He is great with kids, though can get really excited. He's great with out niece though. When she cries, he runs back and forwards till someone gets up. I think it's great to grow up with dogs. We only had cats, but MrM has always had multiple dogs.

I think it's a question of not being too over protective. My mil used to get all funny with my SIL's baby and the dogs. Making high pitches noises whenever they came near her, even though there were only looking. I think she made in things worse. I say let them have a good sniff of them and their things. After all, it's a whole new load of smells and toys. And try and be as normal as possible. Don't spoil then anymore than normal, or they'll milk it. We are going back to pup school again in a few months too. That way our trainers can give us some advice.

Sorry, epic post over!

SweetieTime · 21/08/2013 15:35

Don't worry we won't be getting rid of her. It is just people put these negative thoughts in your head. We have a baby gate so she cannot get upstairs and I would never leave dog and kids alone together. We grew up around dogs and it was never an issue. She is very curious and I can imagine she will be sniffy of the babies. She is also a poo dog as in eats it, rolls in it and is very attracted to any so we may need to beware of nappy stealing. She also destroys toys so I will have to be on guard that she doesn't nick anything that isn't hers.

Earlier today I caught her up against the fence between us and next door being patted by their 3 kids, she was loving it and seemed gutted when they left her alone. She has already trodden that part of the plants to get easier access to kids next door.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 21/08/2013 20:31

Oh bless her, she sounds like a right little character! Otis loves toys too, so we will be watching that as well. He also likes to share his toys with everyone Grin

Trix yea tell me about it I get confused with your scans and appointments over there.

Basically we have one appointment between 10-12 weeks and we get scanned and booked in during that app.

At roughly 16 weeks you go to a community mw at your clinic.

Then back to hospital for your 20 week scan. They are the only scans offered to a 'normal' low risk pregnancy.

Roughly 24 weeks you go back to the community Mw.

At 28-30 weeks back to the hospital ( depending on measurements or whatever you may be offered a scan here).

31-32 weeks you see community Mw again.

35 weeks you go back to hospital which again depending on pregnancy you may be scanned.

From then you see community Mw every week at doctor clinic.

At 40 weeks you go to hospital. Again may be scanned.

Wow that was long but basically that is what I face. Does your care differ much from that?

Solars · 21/08/2013 21:54

Hi just had a very quick catch up reading back, sorry for not catching up sooner we had a very busy weekend and then the last few days have been busy with family stuff. Will catch up properly tomorrow but will leave you all with 🍰🍪& 🍹oh and also 🍎🍇🍓night all!

Solars · 21/08/2013 21:55

Oh my emotions didn't work Sad oh well have some Cake

Solars · 21/08/2013 21:56

Emotions = emoticons! silly auto correct!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 21/08/2013 22:08

You're there Solars!! Hurrah!! Hope everything's ok x

I don't think that sounds too dissimilar Pen

Brookers, can I ask a question. All IVFers, are you classes as high risk pregnancies? Only I'm a bit miffed that I am. I don't want consultant led care and wanted to give birth in the midwife led unit.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 21/08/2013 22:13

You might get downgraded as you progress Maybe

NoMaybeAboutIt · 21/08/2013 22:15

I really hope so as there's nothing actually wrong with me!! Sorry Boo I'm a tad irate tonight Blush

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 21/08/2013 22:20

GrinWink

ThedementedPenguin · 21/08/2013 22:26

maybe during my first pregnancy I was moved from midwife led care to consultant. However, at my 40 week appointment I asked about birthing in the midwifery led unit and they had no problems with it. Unfort it wasn't to be.

keepitgoing · 21/08/2013 22:51

No maybe I am v low risk, and going to the mw birth centre. I have read on mn though that this differs and some areas class all ivfers as high risk. Try kicking up a fuss, I agree its ridiculous in many cases.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 21/08/2013 22:57

That's interesting to know Keep. She did say ill more than likely be discharged straight back to her as I'm no risk for everything else. I will stand firm.

cartoontrickster · 22/08/2013 08:25

penguin actually the biggest diff I can see if that we book in (8 wksish) and have first '12'wk scan separate. and when we see the mw regularily after the 20wk scan its always at the Dr surgery. I believe that like you we'd get sent for a scan if needed. I think that's right.
I guess ours sound more complicated as many of us are seen by private clinics and so have more scans than the norm. I for example have all the regular scan/mw appointments but also get seen by the fetal med consultant at our local hosp. I also have been seeing a private consultant but he considers me low risk now so I have been signed off from them.
maybe I believe I'm down as consultant led too. but I'm confident that will change after my 20wk scan. but I Did over hear the receptionist say something about changing me so perhaps they have already. so I guess at some point they'll reassess that with you or like keep said ask if its absolutely necessary. could be that its just their normal process to put every ivfer down as that.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 22/08/2013 08:29

Aaw, course I like you Maybe just a bit scared of your new hormones Grin I will still have that cake though!

keepitgoing · 22/08/2013 08:42

maybe that makes more sense that you just see the doctor once and they then decide. No harm in that and I'm sure they'll change you down to MW led care. TBH they don't seem especially interested in the fact that I had IVF, but i suppose i'm quite far through now.

Also pen I'm a 'special case' as I've just got home, so am having more scans etc. which probably makes it sound more complicated. Where are you, the US?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 22/08/2013 08:46

Thanks Keep and Trix. Am feeling less hormonal today Wink

Don't be scared Boo she says with a crazy look in her eye

God, it's miserable today isn't it?!

keepitgoing · 22/08/2013 09:01

it is. I have lots of washing to do, and it won't dry. I was promised sunshine by the BBC. Grr.

I know what you mean though. You just want to be seen as normal. But hey ho it might just mean more scans to see Fin!

SweetieTime · 22/08/2013 09:03

Maybe I am consultant led because of twins but they have not said much about it been ivf. everywhere seems so different. I am sure they will change you if everything progresses well.

It is lovely weather here this morning. Just about to take dog for a trek around fields.
