jeff if you need to have a moan, this is the place! Hope miniJeff sleeps soon.

Something odd happened today. One of the Big Bosses (who knew about my mc, because of the time off I needed) spoke to HWCA and told him if I got diffed again, he had a job in mind for me that would keep me working alongside hwca - how weird! The job is a bit dull compared to my proper one but for a few months would be perfect.

JethroTull · 29/10/2013 16:06

MiniJeff, CrazyDog & SSG all asleep. Peace. At. Last.

MiniJeff not sleeping is a small issue, Dog going insane is my main problem. We've got a behaviourist coming out next week to try to help. It's so stressful. Hopefully I will get the all clear to drive next week which will help as I won't feel so 'stuck'.

MyNameIsWinkly · 29/10/2013 16:19

Do you have someone who can take you out jeff? After my friend had a c section recently I took her out shopping and for lunch a few times, which I think helped.

What's CrazyDog been doing? Hope the behaviourist sorts him out.

pinkr · 30/10/2013 05:05

Hi all! Got caught up. Welcome all newbies Grin
noks! Good too see you are doing fine! Imagine what lovely Christmas seasons you will have from now on...it'll be magical.
Jeff sympathies on the sleeping. No doggy advice i'm afraid but my sil has struggled with their spaniel as he's used to being top dog etc and its a shock to them. Re you driving I never got signed off and the midwife said as long as I could do an emergency stop I was good ... I drive after three Weeks...in fact at my six week check the doctor didn't examine or mention the section at all just whirred on about contraception and depression. There is no official document or certificate that says you ate fit to drive.
Little pink had her jags on Monday...cue one very unhappy baby. I fed her straight after and she was sobbing between sucks. She seemed fine when we got home but a few hours later she started screaming and sleeping and refusing to feed...kept this up for six hours so I took her to the doc and she calmed down just as we got there. Poor wee soul had been smiling and cooing at the doctor just before she was stuck.

Aw poor little pink

jeff how are you today?

Hope everyone is well.

My morning sickness has kicked in with fury. Had to get my driver to go back to our base so I could puke violently. Felt awful. I may have to tell work and go on light duties early, because this isn't fair on anyone. Still, mustn't grumble!

pinkr · 30/10/2013 13:17

I'm very much in favour of vaccines which seems to be a controversial issue on here but I have to say taking her broke my heart...still keep remembering the horrible diseases we've protected her against.
Morning sickness sucks winks...the worst part of the whole pregnancy I think...or was it the heart burn...or the rib pain... All worth it though! !

Also a piece of advice for the preggers...if you are going to be needing childcare ours not silly to look and book now. I'm going back next August and need nursery two days a week, imagine my horror that lots that I contacted were booked up until March 2015! Have managed to reserve a place in the one I would have wanted but i'm praying work will be ok as I'll have to tell them the days I can work rather than agreeing it...I just hope they don't want me in on a tues or thurs as I can't get childcare for those farts anywhere!

OP posts:
pinkr · 30/10/2013 13:24

Days not farts obviously!

OP posts:
SinkyMalinks · 30/10/2013 14:41

Bloody hell pinkr. I'd never had thought it that hard to find a nursery. I'm hoping work one will take, but maybe I need to speak to them!

I kept saying "after the 20 week scan", but now that's been and gone it still feels too early to do it! (And look at cars, prams, cots etc etc)

KatAndKit · 30/10/2013 16:28

Just checking in. Still pregnant. No more bleeding. Very few symptoms and still no early scan date. Six and a half weeks now, right in the danger zone. Going a bit menkul!

pinkr · 30/10/2013 18:04

Its apparently never too early sinks ... I didn't want to till she'd safely arrived but other people don't seem to be as cautious and get the places. Plus most nurseries only take a small number of under twos...the place we have takes nine babies which isn't a lot when you think of the number of babies around!

OP posts:
MyNameIsWinkly · 30/10/2013 18:34

Gosh, I haven't the faintest idea what we'll do about childcare if we get that far, or how hwca and I will arrange our shifts.

kat how are you feeling? Are you going to be acanned early? Fx.

evilgiraffe · 30/10/2013 19:25

6+7 today, scan on Friday - still no sign of anything untoward, hurrah. Not much in the way of diffage symptoms either, aside from enormo-boobs and feeling dozy enough to nap most afternoons.

Hope everyone else is doing okay - sorry about the sickness, winks, that sounds miserable. I'm astonished I'm not (yet) puking everywhere, given that I have the weakest stomach known to man. There's sill time, I suppose.

Childcare is a huge headache, as far as I can tell. At least being a housewife means I have a decent chance of being a SAHM, but HOTB's salary may not be enough to support us and kids as well. I guess I may well end up looking for a job again, so will have to find childcare at that point... It all seems like a mystical pipe dream at this point, though.

JethroTull · 30/10/2013 21:06

Had a much better day today. CrazyDog was at day care & I had a full nights sleep last night - in the spare room, lovely SSG did the night shift. My turn tonight....

Kat glad things are ok

Childcare - I haven't thought about it either. I think I will have to go back to work for money reasons & also my sanity. Maybe Easter time. I should probably make some enquiries shouldn't I??

Ginfox · 31/10/2013 06:00

Just checking in. Hello to all newbies.

Still bleeding most days, but baby ok as far as I can tell. Woke up on Monday morning to find that my uterus was much higher than the night before, and sticking out alarmingly. Don't remember it being quite such a sudden move up out of the pelvis last time, but then things are presumably slacker this time.

Have sneaky antenatal appt on Monday (because last time I went into mat ward with bad bleed the midwife felt sorry for me having to wait for 20wk scan). Don't care what happens as long as I hear that lovely doppler sound.

Velcro-ey vibes to you Kat.

Sympathies re: non-sleeper Jeff. Foxcub has only recently started doing more than 4hrs at a stretch (she's 27mo), just in time for me get some decent sleep. Oh no wait, preggo insomnia. Lovely. So still no sleep.

I have nothing to advise re: childcare (DH does it) other than we registered Foxcub for a fulltime place before she was born (very good and popular nursery near work) knowing here is usually a long waiting list. I would say do it early if there is a particular one you want to use.

FrankelInFoal · 31/10/2013 07:40

Hurrah for sympathetic midwives Gin, but sorry you've still got the bleeding to worry you.

The thought of childcare has crossed my mind, but not enough to actively do anything about it! My BF took her childcare qualifications a few years ago and we had a brief discussion at the time that she might have my kids, but it was a very informal chat rather than anything concrete. She's currently a SAHM with her 1 year old son and is TTC No2 so it may not even be an option! I don't know if I want to go back full or part-time, but I do want to go back to work. So much to think about!

I've been knackered the last few days, we moved offices yesterday and mugging here got left with most of the packing Hmm. Nothing heavy, but still lots of it. I've also had to go into work an hour early every day this week to let the movers/BT engineers/electricians etc in as my boss is on a long-planned business trip (we were supposed to move 2 weeks ago but BT cocked up).

MyNameIsWinkly · 31/10/2013 14:12

I have been moved to an 'indoors' job at work. I have been here 20 minutes and already hate it :(

SinkyMalinks · 31/10/2013 14:18

All for a good cause winks. Is it really that bad? If it's any consolation, I'm sitting through phd presentations this afternoon. They're not related to my work unfortunately. The first few were fine, but the current guy has already doubled his 10min limit and is still talking. And his massively over complicated slides keep crashing the computer. Sigh.

There was free lunch though.

MyNameIsWinkly · 31/10/2013 15:02

I'm sure it'll improve sinks, but because I was moved in a rush I have no access to their systems so can't actually do anything. And it's all very confined and dull compared to my normal job, which I absolutely adore. Plus everyone will guess that I'm diffed fairly quickly which isn't ideal. But mainly I'm a hormonal blubbering mess at the moment.

Your day sounds pretty damn dull too. You should have brought a nerf gun to fire at the overly talkative.

SinkyMalinks · 31/10/2013 15:40

Does that mean you can spend the day eating cake and drinking tea (tetley decaf is pretty good, if you're avoiding)?

Commiserations though. But bet your mum is happy you have a naice desk job, eh?

SinkyMalinks · 31/10/2013 15:41

I have no nerf gun sadly.

Sigh.

MyNameIsWinkly · 31/10/2013 16:59

You need a nerf gun in future.

Yes to the tea, I like twinings lemon and ginger which is caffeine free anyway. No to the cake, I don't need to be piling on weight! My arse is enormous anyway, I'm resigned to my belly and boobs expanding if this goes well but the rest is big enough.

Scan booked for the 6th. Should be 7 weeks exactly by then

evilgiraffe · 31/10/2013 18:27

Nerf gun (or a crossbow) sounds like an excellent idea!

It will be okay, winks, though I sympathise with the fear

Scan is at noon tomorrow. I am bricking it.

SinkyMalinks · 31/10/2013 18:36

So. Wikipedia tells me the ocean sunfish is the heaviest known bony fish. I like that. It also produces more eggs than any other vertebrae. I don't know whether to curse it, or suggest it becomes a BESH mascot...

Good luck for scanage tomorrow, and for the 6th. Tis only normal to be totally bricking it.

evilgiraffe · 31/10/2013 18:44

I picked it because it looks so weird and I know that one of our number has seen them IN REAL LIFE (I saw photos on facebook) Grin There's nothing not to like about giant weirdy-looking fish, I reckon.
