Hope you have a lovely day, Natalie!

My baby's latest trick is to be hyperactive, and I mean really, really dancing, between 4-5am. Does anyone else have a nocturnal kicker?

OrangeBlossom2 · 03/08/2013 08:02

Enjoy the wedding Natalie. You are a bridesmaid aren't you, I hope it isn't too tiring.

How are you today Tarlia and Flyer?

I have a new embarrassing pregnancy symptom: skin tags. On my areola and now two on my underarm. Hoping they don't get irritated by breastfeeding.

My nan is out of hospital which is sort of good news and she is determined to go to a wedding today. They sent her home with a pulse of 36 though which I am furious about even if she seems ok. I wanted to go over to Oxford today to go with her to the start of the wedding and drive her home (grandad has to stay as is in the wedding party/reading). But they don't want me too - very protective of me now pregnant and worry about motorway driving! My mum is now going instead though she doesn't drive.

I went for dinner with friends off the Northcote road last night and DH thought I was a bit odd for saying ooh we are in nappy valley, some MN people live near here, lets look for baby shops a bit too excitedly.

OrangeBlossom2 · 03/08/2013 08:04

Soup I hope that means it won't affect your mortgage application.

Shire, yes 4am is my baby's busiest time of day too.

Soupqueen · 03/08/2013 08:10

It sounds like your nan really needs to be resting orange, great that she's out of hospital, but now you've got that additional worry.

Bank assured me it wouldn't have an impact, so fingers crossed they're right.

Iheartcrunchiebars · 03/08/2013 08:19

Orange blossom have you tried vitamin e capsules? I think they have to be 400ug. I used to get them around my eyes and spent a fortune getting them burnt off. Then I used vitamin e (basically prick the capsule and rub on skin tag) it disappeared within a week and randomly I never had one again!!

OrangeBlossom2 · 03/08/2013 08:45

Ooh definitely worth a try crunchy! Thanks. I have read about tying string round them to make them fall off but I am not keen as they might get infected and that would definitely not help feeding.

Tarlia · 03/08/2013 09:59

orange sorry to hear your granny hasn't been well looked after. Such a low pulse to be released with :/ Fab your mum will be there to keep an eye out today though and assess the situation.

My bp is in the high 80s this morning, so back in the safe zone. No idea what was up yesterday, but still feeling pretty pants so will keep tracking. Thursday I have another growth scan and consultant appointment anyway. Thanks for remembering.

crunchies thanks for the tip, I need to remember to try that! I've always had them under my arms since I was a small girl. Is it safe to put the oil around the eyes? I don't have any but I know someone who does.

Nat sorry the dress is a bit tight. Hope you still manage to have a lovely day anyway.

MotherOfNations · 03/08/2013 10:42

I've no idea soup. When we moved in we set up a direct debit of £30 pm but our supplier write to us a few mmonths ago to say they were reducing it to £17 pm as we were paying too much and sent us a check for the over payed amount which payed for our pram.
Our gas bill is around £60-£80pm though.

I promised the kids I would take them to a fun day at a country park today but I really can't face the journey on 2 buses to get there. I seem to get travel sick since being pregnant. Has anyone else experienced this?
It's not really park weather here either.

OrangeBlossom2 · 03/08/2013 10:46

I haven't so far MoN but I read it is common. I have bought some travel sickness bands for our ferry trip to France later this month.

roxvox · 03/08/2013 10:53

DH and I had a lovely lie in this morning. Both slept through until a torrential downpour of rain at about 10.20am... I definitely needed that sleep!

Went downstairs to get the post and I have a Royal Mail note to tell me I have a fee to pay. I assume it's for my Hot Milk nursing bras (which I didn't realise were coming from New Zealand until after I had placed the order and received my 'New Zealand Post tracking number'). It's £15.82, so I think these are working out to be the most expensive nursing bras ever. I'll be gutted now if they don't fit!

Glad to hear your Gran is out of hospital Orange. I hope she takes it easy today.

Have a fantastic time today natalie, can you maybe take a back up dress to change to in the evening in case you do start to get really uncomfortable?

Hi everybody,

I have another newbie question.... Is it worth paying out slightly more and buying anti colic bottles just incase the baby has colic or just buy regular?

I plan to bf but express too. I don't really know the ins and outs of colic, but surely anti colic bottles can't do any harm?? Ahhhh too many choices

ComtesseDeFrouFrou · 03/08/2013 11:49

Good question Slippy I'd like to know too.

TheFalconsmistress · 03/08/2013 13:25

I would buy bottles that are anti colic but you don't need Dr browns or that most brands and shop own brands are anti colic these days slippy xx

OrangeBlossom2 · 03/08/2013 15:24

I plan to breast feed and don't plan to buy any bottles. I thought if it doesn't work or i need to express I will buy equipment them then but don't want to yet.

I just picked up the Emma's diary packs from Argos when we went to buy a new Hoover (a lovely little Dyson, yay! We've had a second hand 20+year old one for years) there was lots of free stuff, better than bounty, I will post a list.

roofio87 · 03/08/2013 15:24

After discussing them weeks ago and having cravings ever since, I'm about to sit down with some scones with cream and jam!!! GrinGrin

Mmm scones, I would love a scone... DH is making date, sultana, apricot and honey bread. Hopefully that will hit the spot.

Slippysnow · 03/08/2013 16:39

Thanks for this orange, I signed up too but stupidly forgot to collect my pack. Will make an effort to get it now :)

Shirehobbit · 03/08/2013 17:01

No scones here - hot, buttered crumpets instead Smile

Haylebop12 · 03/08/2013 17:42

Evening everyone, back off my holidays and looks like a fair bit of catching up to do! But... No babies yet so that's good that they're all staying put.

Lovely week away, could have stayed longer for sure. Definite active baby and got a pretty good feeling he's head down as all my movements are high up.

Absolutely pooped and got lots of unpacking to do... Boooooo!

Will post again later after Mammoth read!

OrangeBlossom2 · 03/08/2013 17:48

Welcome back Hayle.

Mmm hubby's bread was delicious with marmalade. It is from the Paul Hollywood bake book. I think I will have another slice!

MotherOfNations · 03/08/2013 17:50

I signed up ages ago but I don't have a printer so will either need to go to the library and print the vouchers or ask my sister to do it.

Just back from the fun day at the park. I decided to get a taxi in the end and thank goodness we did as there was a long walk from the park gates to the centre of the park where all the activities were. I really ache now and I feel like baby is lying really low. I honestly feel that if I stand with my legs apart she'll come hurtling out.

Wickedgirl · 03/08/2013 17:55

I don't think that anti colic bottles do anything more than normal bottles. They are a faff to put together and dr browns in particular, are very bad for leaking. Normal bottles are far easier to wash, sterilise and put back together.

roofio87 · 03/08/2013 18:07

Evening all. I'm home alone tonight so chilling on the sofa and eating lots!! Only having 9 weeks left suddenly sent me into a panic with the need to feel more organised so I've got a start on washing all baby's little clothes which was good as its been dry hot and windy here so everything got dried outside!! Also tidied baby room and started packing hospital bag so feeling better!!
Hope everyone else is having a nice weekend Smile

cuillereasoupe · 03/08/2013 19:27

I was dozing on the sofa in the buff at 3 o'clock this morning (insomnia, too hot in the bedroom) when I was rudely awoken by the dog jumping up to join me and landing squarely with his claw on my nipple. OUCH.
