Morning all,

Hope those that were awake/sweating managed to get a little sleep. That was me last week last night I only woke for one wee which is a miracle.

Anyone got any tips for a trapped nerve? I normally get a shooting pain down my leg as a regular siatica pain but atm the nerve seems to be permanently trapped and its soooo painfull! Xx

roofio87 · 02/08/2013 08:24

I managed to wee 4 times in the night so don't even feel like I've slept!! Going to appreciate my lie in tomorrow morning while I still can!!
My arm was so sore after Wc jab, but got better quickly!!

Shirehobbit · 02/08/2013 08:41

I had my wc jab on Tuesday - arm was achy/sore for the first 24hrs, but just felt a bit bruised yesterday and all fine today Smile.

Though I was up a lot during the night (too warm, needing to pee, baby very active), I'm determined to be more productive, today.

1stTimer25 · 02/08/2013 08:41

Likewise with the lack of sleep last night! I hope we all find some energy somewhere!
I'm back to work this afternoon and after having the last two days off am seriously lacking motivation! But hopefully will be able to bring mat leave forward by a week so that might cheer me up!
I hope everyone has a nice day and bumps are all wiggly :)

OrangeBlossom2 · 02/08/2013 08:46

I am on the hunt for vouchers and just joined "Emma's diary". You get three packs and some argos vouchers, it seems to be similar to bounty. You might already have all signed up but I hadn't heard of it before so thought I would mention it.

PseudoBadger · 02/08/2013 08:47

Enjoy receiving spam mail from them ^for ever* :o

PseudoBadger · 02/08/2013 08:48

for ever.....

OrangeBlossom2 · 02/08/2013 08:53

Oh dear! Well I used my junk email account so I can always ignore it...!

roxvox · 02/08/2013 09:28

I am the same Orange, I sign up to all kinds of crap to get free stuff, but give them my junk email account email address. I set up the account purely for that purpose Smile

OP posts:
roxvox · 02/08/2013 09:36

Oh, I have just realised that pseudo probably meant real junk mail (as in through the letter box at home kind of junk mail)... I might sign up but have them post my stuff to my Mum's address Grin

Sorry to hear so many of you had a bad nights sleep. On the plus side it is a) cooler today (so hopefully a better nights sleep tonight) and b) Friday Smile
I slept well until 5am when I woke up and started running through things in my head. As a result of half an hour of feeling baby kick and wondering how I would feel if h/e/she contracted whooping cough because I wasn't sure about getting the vaccine, I have decided to get it. Booked in for next Thursday morning.

Question: Assuming I am given the option then should I get the jab in my right arm (I am right handed) or my left arm (I sleep on my left side)?

DH took the plunge last night and bought our Britax Affinity buggy. In actual fact we bought 2 because we don't know if we're having a boy or a girl and only like the blue and purple colours. We had to buy 2 rather than just wait and buy the colour packs because of the free carrycot offer. Once baby is born we will return the one (still fully packaged up as it was delivered) that we do not require (365 day return policy). Seems a bit of a ridiculous way to do it, but we were desperately keen not to miss out on this free carrycot offer, but also know that we want the blue if it's a boy or purple if it's a girl!

So many spelling mistakes there... and DH and I bought the buggy's, not just DH Smile

Just trying to catch up after I missed a day yesterday being spoilt for my birthday Smile

Exciting about pram roxvox we had purple for my DS but wasnt too girly (I hope) so great that you were able to buy both.

I also had my wc jab on weds, like everyone else have had a sore arm but feel fine and baby still as wriggly as normal. I would say go for it on the side you dont sleep on. I waa able to use my arm but was really sore to lie on it. Also the nurse giving me the injection told me it is the same booster jab they give to preschool children age 3-4. Made me feel better about having it for some reason.

Sorry to those struggling with feeling ill and not sleeping. Heat was horrible here yesterday too bt much nicer today.
Also amazed at some of your washing cycles and in awe at your ability to keep up Smile I stuggle and we only wash bedding and towels once a week and theres only 3 of us!

PseudoBadger · 02/08/2013 10:22

It's very sore to lie on, but think it would be worse to have to write with it?

ananikifo · 02/08/2013 11:33

I have soreness just around my wc injection site. It was horrible to lie on last night but doesn't affect the whole arm. I would rather have had it on my writing side than my sleeping side, personally.

legallyblond · 02/08/2013 11:47

I cannot believe some of your washing! We do bedclothes and towels every two weeks (or three Blush) and I do at least three loads a week (lights, darks, colours). I'll do an extra load, say if there's lots of gym kit or swimming towels. When using washable nappies, I did a nappy wash every three days as well.

roxvox · 02/08/2013 12:10

Sounds like you are more on my wavelength when it comes to washing legally! I wear jeans until they are dirty or I feel as though they could do with a wash. I sniff tops to see if they need a wash rather than wash them after one wear (although sometimes this is the case after a quick sniff). And I put a wash on when the wash basket gets full/we run out of pants/there is an item of clothing I want in there, so probably do 1 or 2 loads a week on average. I pretty much wear my pyjamas until the other set I have is freshly washed, and then I'll switch to them (so 1 or 2 weeks), same goes for towels.

cazboldy · 02/08/2013 12:27

I do bedding once a week in the summer (so ours one day, boys one day, and girls one day) and twice a week in the winter.

Just back from my whooping cough jab

cazboldy · 02/08/2013 12:28

duh not twice a week - that should be every 2 weeks in the winter!

tuckingfits · 02/08/2013 12:57

I am glad I'm not the only one who doesn't do masses of washing. DS's stuff gets washed separately to everything else because he has eczema & although I use a non-bio washing powder, I still have to do an extra rinse to make sure there is no detergent residue. I don't do it for anyone else's washing. If I rammed his stuff in with mine, I'd probably save a load a week. When we were using washable nappies I reckon I was doing a nappy load every second night. Again having to do a separate rinse cycle. I do the sniff test on my stuff too. I wouldn't do it to DP's clothes - not brave enough! Unless my clothes smell/are covered in DS's lunch/have been jumped on with muddy paws they don't go in the washing basket.

I have to say I do a lot less washing now than when DS was littler. I obviously had washable nappies to do, he was also a very sicky baby so I had dozens of muslins on the go, various changes of outfits for him plus whatever of mine got hit by his milky puke. Am definitely hoping for a non-sicky baby this time round!

MrsO27 · 02/08/2013 13:51

I got told my wc jab was to go in the arm I write with. Mine is sore today too, was sore to lie on last night but in the past couple of hours i can feel it kind of throbbing. Ho hum, it's not hald as bad as the leg cramps though, been woken up the past 2 nights at around 4.30am with them. Oucha! Happy Friday all Grin

chickieno1 · 02/08/2013 14:14

Quick check in.

Happy belated birthday to orange, sanjifair and pinkbuttons Sounds like you were all spoilt!

Have a good holiday pseudo hope your morning wasn't too bad in the end and you found a loo as needed!

To everyone with sore arms, heartburn, aches and pains, and poor sleep hope the weekend helps!

Had obs appt on we'd all good with BP babies heart beat and bump size. My doc does routine growth scans at 33 weeks which seems like a lot to me if everything s going well but at least get to see Babba again!

Sooooooo 8 weeks to elcs date!!! Major panic have done nothing! No buggy decision, no cot, no bag packed, baby clothes not washed! I think I'm in denial. I need a kick up the bum to get going!

For those who used cloth nappies how did you deal with pooey nappies? I might check it out but what do you do in the early days when can have up to 6 dirty nappies a day??

Sorry turned into mega post :)

cazboldy · 02/08/2013 14:38

i was told mine needed to be in the arm I DON'T write with Confused

ananikifo · 02/08/2013 14:44

Chickien a lot of people seem to use disposables for the first days or weeks. I bought a few packs of pampers newborn. I'm planning to use gnappies (gdiapers). Their starter pack gives you 12 newborn size outers and a bunch of disposable inserts which seems most practical for the beginning. You can use the outer part more than once and just change inserts if that's all that's dirty/wet.

I'm glad to hear that others are like me wash things less often. We change towels weekly and bedding every 2 weeks on average. Every week we do a load each of darks, lights, towels/bedding, and whites, and sometimes delicates. Sometimes delicates instead of whites. Obviously if things are dirty or smelly they get washed when they need it.

I had my mw appt today. I'm 28 weeks + 3 and measure 28 cm, but on my personalised growth chart that puts bump in the 90th percentile! Mw just said the measurement was fine but it makes me think you just can't win. She told me I would meet criteria for a home birth (ie, a low risk pregnancy and there's someone at home to be with me before and after) and she was really supportive.

pinkbuttons · 02/08/2013 16:28

Just a quick one to say glad all appts have gone well today
and my belly button is half an outy!!! I managed to avoid it with DS but think its going out this time, only 30+6. Anyones else's out yet?

GTbaby · 02/08/2013 16:43

31weeks here n my belly button has popped out Hmm I also avoided it last time.
Went shopping yesterday. So hard finding a nightie!
Dark with buttons on front. How hard can it be? BHS has the right style but not dark. All pale colours. Even mother care 2 pack I bought last time 1 was dark blue n one white.
