We're in Estonia - Victor is a perfect traveller, not a sound, slept through both flights. Yesterday went to Robbie's concert with him, which was a little scary with all the crowds, but luckily no problems and he of course got a lot of attention with his little pink ear defenders (for some reason, pink ones were cheaper).

Now about to go see my parents. I expect to sit and relax while the whole family entertains the little guy.

Way to go Vic!

I watched OBEM too last night, saw

MotherOfCleo · 21/08/2013 14:15

doh sent too soon.

.....that woman who was a crazy screamer until she had the epidural...although she did have a 10 an a half pounder....ouch! I hope Im not a psycho screamer.Blush

Cavort · 21/08/2013 19:57

Have you seen this?

Hilarious but surprisingly desirable! On the few occasions I have gone clothes shopping alone with Elodie I have had to buy items to try on at home with a view to taking them back if they don't fit.

Mother I think I was more of a fast panicked breather than a psycho screamer, but I was screaming like a banshee inside my head!

Hazle I hope you are making the most of all your family babysitters. As much as I love her to pieces it is really nice when someone else takes her for a bit while I enjoy a flashback to my former life. Grin

janey1234 · 21/08/2013 20:17

Cavort - that is hilarious!

Hazle - well done to vic, sounds like he's behaving like an angel in front of all his extended family

We've just booked a night in a hotel for Sunday - taking Miles away to the seaside for the weekend. Sounds lovely in theory but he has his 8 week jabs on Friday... Wondering if he's going to be a nightmare. Also considering moving his jabs to Tuesday so as not to ruin our trip?! selfish mum

MotherOfCleo · 22/08/2013 09:52

Ahh how lovely Janey, I live by the seaside but am awful and rarely go, can't remember the last time I actually went in the sea here. Blush

Quick question, anyone else suffer with crazy tiredness around week 29? I am so tired at the moment it is unbelievable, doesn't help that I am working 9 hour days at the moment as we are so busy. Sucks as I don't get paid overtime so I'm working 45 hours this week but getting paid for 35 Sad an extra couple of hundred quid would be such a help at the moment.
It doesn't seem to matter how much I sleep I still wake up tired, I know I'm not anemic as the midwife tested for that. Guess I've had it so easy for the rest of the time I should just be grateful tiredness is all I have to deal with.
I also suddenly seem very big today, I do worry that I am eating too much so may be a big fat beast when after I give birth. Want to start swimming but don't seem to be able to find the time Confused

Sorry for the me me me post.

MotherOfCleo · 22/08/2013 10:00

Oh and I keep feeling nauseous/sick?? Is this to get me back for not having morning sickness? Sad

Alexandra6 · 22/08/2013 10:41

Maybe the tiredness is making you feel nauseous mother? I'm 26 weeks and I've been struggling with tiredness but then I've been really busy this week so that's probably why - I'm out tonight so determined to get myself in the mood for a night out! Wine would help if I was allowed it, damn Wink

I feel like my pregnancy is getting to a next level where I need to be careful how I sit (was hunched at my laptop yesterday and got backache) and I feel bigger suddenly. Was thinking of treating myself to a pregnancy massage soon then remembered I'm meant to be saving for mat leave! Maybe I'll just get DH to do foot rubs instead!

Would jabs on Friday affect Miles on Sunday then janey? Seaside sounds nice.

Quodlibet · 22/08/2013 13:21

Mother I get nauseous when I am very busy, I think it's harder to regulate your blood sugar as the baby is getting all the good stuff, so I would find myself suddenly starving and then nauseous as a result. I don't envy you your 45 hr weeks - can you not get some lenience seeing as you are pg? I don't think it is good for you to work to the point of exhaustion.

Alexandra6 · 22/08/2013 13:43

Also mother not sure what you do, but maybe you could work from home some days, is there any chance of that? I've been working from home lots of days recently which helps. I'm a bit worried as it's suddenly got much busier yesterday and today and then I have a really busy week next week - I don't want to be one of those pregnant people who expects to have it easy at work just because I'm pregnant but then at the same time, I don't want to be working any overtime or stressed especially as I will get crappy stat mat pay soon either way

MotherOfCleo · 22/08/2013 14:26

Cheers girls, I work in an advertising agency, it's great but my boss has let a few people take holiday at the same time which has led to me taking on more and working longer.....grrr. Hopefully next week should be better. He is usually ok with me working from home but I need some of the programs which I only have on my work mac which is a bit of a pain. My boss did just tell us he is taking us all out for a Thai lunch tomorrow which is nice though, so I think he feels a bit bad for how much work we have.

I agree though Alex, it doesn't matter how hard I work as I'm still only getting statutory maternity pay. Sad

At least I get 3 days to recuperate this weekend though Grin. Although we are going to a wedding on Saturday, it will be nice but we are invited to the whole day and I'm aware I am going to look huge! I am wearing this black maxi dress an hope I don't just look like a big walrus! It could be a bit knackering though as no doubt my OH will drink too much and be annoying. Wink

Yeah I think you're right quod I feel hungry so I eat, then I feel sick. Or I get a kick in the stomach and almost bring my food back up....nice. Blush Oh the joys huh.

Alexandra6 · 22/08/2013 15:32

Ooh I love that dress! Yes I've had my fair share of dealing with a drunk DH during sober pregnancy including a wedding in May (janey will remember!) but he's a loveable drunk so I shouldn't complain! He makes me laugh but he does get a bit repetitive if he thinks it's funny. At that wedding he accidentally pulled a funny face in one photo and decided it would be good to do it in every

Alexandra6 · 22/08/2013 15:36

Single pic after that!

Alexandra6 · 22/08/2013 15:37

Oh and don't get me started on his drunk dancing Wink at least he has dad dancing nailed down already.

MotherOfCleo · 22/08/2013 16:10

haha, alex snap, mine has the drunk dad dancing down to a T. Plus he insists on calling it 'flicking a hoof' once he is really drunk - bless him! He is usually fine, but tends to think he is really funny...alas a lot of the time he is far from it when you're stone cold sober. Plus he always trys it on and dtd with an incredibly drunk man is not on my list of 'must do's', so he gets rebuffed, then sulks.

Glad you like the dress, just hope it looks nice, don't want to look like a big lump. Plus I am planning on heels which should shock my feet so will be taking some flats for the evening just incase.

Quodlibet · 23/08/2013 10:56

I had a fairly useless 24 wk check yesterday with a GP who looked like he hasn't measured a fundus since medical school I don't think they are used to doing 'shared care' at my surgery. He has given me ABs to attempt to clear the strep B though.

In other news, we have finally booked our holiday! Off to Turkey for some beach time, some landscapes and some city time. I am both really excited and strangely nervous about travelling while pg - I am normally a completely unphased traveller.

Quodlibet · 23/08/2013 11:02

Cavort I was looking at your bump pics as a reference (my bump is still quite small and a source of irrational paranoia to me a little bit, but I think I'm growing in a similar way that you did) and saw your latest pic of Elodie - what a sweetie! That little face must make the sleeplessness worth it surely?

Alexandra6 · 23/08/2013 11:16

Turkey sounds like a perfect choice, sunshine and not too exotic for this stage in pg! Bet you'll have a great time!

I just looked at Elodie too, aww she's lovely, cute eyes! And interesting about the bump as I think mine's small too but it's actually really similar to Cavort's, so it must just seem small compared to what I thought I'd be like at this stage! Might do a bump pic later. Saw a friend I hadn't seen yet in pregnancy last night and she said I'm still the same size everywhere else (she was expecting my face/arms etc to be bigger) so that was good! Bet I get paid back in third trimester and look like a swollen elephant Wink

Cavort · 23/08/2013 12:28

Aww thanks guys, yes her cute little face (which is usually smiling now) is absolutely lovely to wake up to, even at 5.30am like this morning, but what Mum doesn't think that about their own? Grin

Re bump size - I was paranoid for my whole pregnancy about my bump being small compared to other women of the same gestation, but my Fundal Height always measured ok so I just assumed the bump was all baby and very little fat, which I think was right as my belly was flatish again a week after birth and I was only 7lbs heavier than pre pg despite putting 2 stone on by 40 weeks. Elodie was 6lb8oz so a bit on the small side (20th centile so still within the normal range) but she had caught up to the 50th centile by 2 weeks old and is following the 50th centile line perfectly now and is getting more chins than a Chinese phone book. And I am back in my normal clothes and now really pleased I had a small bump. Grin I can't honestly say my belly is as flat as pre pg but I think it's only me that can tell the difference and it has only been 7 weeks so it's early days yet. So I think it's good news that you both have small bumps! Wink

Very jealous of your lovely sounding Turkish holiday Quod Envy Envy Envy

MotherOfCleo · 23/08/2013 13:12

alex, quod my bump was non existent until well past 20 weeks, it's since caught up though. I felt huge yesterday!

I measure exactly right when the midwife measures me so won't worry just yet that there is a 10lber hiding in their!! Blush

Quodlibet · 23/08/2013 13:35

I think my paranoia is due to GP measuring fundal height as 20cm when it should be more like 24cm by now, but a) I think he measured it wrong and b) looking at the charts 20cm is still low range of normal for now. I bet I will be longing for a return to small bump once I start swelling up in a few weeks time...

Alexandra6 · 23/08/2013 13:57

No idea what mine is (my midwife is quite slack relaxed and just asks me about three times each appointment whether I'm taking my pregnacare and playing music to the baby). She did a quick measurement of my bump last time though and said it was a "bit small" but she didn't seem fussed, neither am I really even though I love looking at baby and bump pics and talking about it! Surely like people, bumps and babies come in different shapes and sizes. I also didn't have much stomach fat before and am secretly hoping to bounce back relatively quickly post birth although def won't beat myself up if it takes a while. janey won't want a heifer for a bridesmaid at her wedding next year after all Grin

MotherOfCleo · 23/08/2013 15:01

I'm measuring exactly as I should so maybe I am bigger than I think. Blush Confused As you say big bumps and small bumps can all equate to happy healthy little babies. A girl I know had a smallish bump, very compact and just had a 9lb 8oz baby....even the midwife was shocked. I really want a 6/7lber I'm scared that he's going to be a monster!! He was above the 50th percentile on all the measurements at our 20 week scan and his head was off the chart.....I am so so scared he is going to be huge and go straight into 0-3 month clothes.

BelissimaLol · 23/08/2013 21:14

I would not worry about measurements either. Think they guess it most of the times!!!! I was told by my mw the baby would be well over 9lbs and she was 7-2!!! So really they have no clue.
On other news I've expressed for the first time this morning. Got 2.5oz. The next step is dh to feed her this evening before bringing her to bed. If it works we will do this everyday so as I can go back to Zumba!

janey1234 · 23/08/2013 21:37

I was never even measured so I really wouldn't worry about it if at all possible.

What a day here... No idea what's going on but Miles has basically refused to sleep all sodding day. He's probably spent about two hours sleeping out of the whole day - most unlike him. And he's still awake now. Argh. And because he's tired he's a bit grouchy... Please please let him sleep tonight!!
