So sorry twinkly.

Same here Pirates. Doc gave me done prochlorperazine this morning. Reading mixed things about it online so now a but unsure about taking it but took one earlier. Can't keep anything down even water so need to try something.

JBrd · 29/07/2013 16:53

MTB - how was your labour experience with the EMCS? Assuming that you had one? I have no experience myself with VBAC, but I know from a couple of friends who have had horrendous labours, which resulted in EMCS, who then opted for an ELCS with their respective DC2. They both said that it was such a different experience, calm and almost stress-free, and their recovery was much better, too.
I would have an in-depth discussion with your mw and/or consultant about all this. One of my friends had an ELCS at nearly 40 weeks (although that wasn't planned, but she had a horrendous cold and they didn't want her to rip the stitches open every time she coughed or sneezed).

I had a horrendous labour experience after an induction with DS, and it also ended in an EMCS (with extra complications). I was told that I will never again be induced in subsequent pregnancies, and I will hold them to that (in case they don't remember) - no way I will be induced. Which leaves me with a difficult-to-manage option of VBAC (because I am on heparin, and it's difficult to stop the injections if you don't know when you're going in to labour!) or an ELCS (which I wouldn't mind so much, hadn't it been for the complications last time). I will definitely be having a very thorough discussion with my consultant at one point!

MummyPig24 · 29/07/2013 17:05

Twinkly I'm so sorry.

Well booking in went well. Mw is still as dozy as anything but she's nice enough. I was a very brave girl having blood taken and I did lie down and didn't even go funny after!! One thing I can say about the mw is that she is good at taking blood, I never really have a bruise after.

The pain is though that I have to go to Oxford for scans as I have chosen to give birth at Wallingford.

stephie101 · 29/07/2013 17:17

Firstly...thinking of you twinkly.xxx

I had my 3rd scan today and last early scan, should be 7+6 but measuring 8+4 looks like i conceived at the end of my period..tmi sorry...so it does happen.....lol

MTBMummy · 29/07/2013 17:35

Jbrd if you'd asked me that after the birth I would have said awful and I'm never doing it again, I guess time makes it all seem not quite so bad. I had to be induced as I went 15 days overdue, I had a 24 hour labour pretty much solidly strapped to the bed and had so much oxytocin being administered they had to give me and epidural about 6 hours in. I didn't progress well and DD's head got stuck and then started showing signs of distress, I also started suffering a lot of blood loss. So they whipped me through and I had a EMCS - I had no complications for that and healed very quickly. I definitely don't want to repeat that, so an ELCS would definitely seem the more attractive option. It's just the early removal that worries me. You're right though I need to chat with my midwife and consultant about it.

MTBMummy · 29/07/2013 17:36

Sorry it that's TMI for the first timers!

PramelaAndherson · 29/07/2013 18:03

JBrd, why will you be on heparin until the end of your pregnancy? My Clexane injections stop at 12 weeks.

Beccadugs · 29/07/2013 18:04

I am having a bad day. After vommiting so much that bile was coming out of my nose this morning I have now started bleeding.

It's a mix of red and brown and very jelly like. I am terrified that something bad is happening. GP said that as I had a scan last week and every thing in the right place with heartbeat etc the odds are in my favour but it is just a chance of waiting it out. I am very frightened and tearful.

Coolhand · 29/07/2013 18:07

Twinkly very sorry to hear that.

Pramela you are right - a paranoid wobble, thanks for making me see sense! I was just on such a downer today.

MTB to my knowledge guidelines are not to induce for VBAC so you definitely wouldn't be early. From friends' experience they will do cs if you go over too far. I will have to have chat with consultant as well on this issue but my instinct is to go VBAC. My DS always wants lifted and cuddled etc and generally uses me as his personal climbing frame - might be a bit difficult with a cs recovery but I am v conscious I could end up with emcs anyway! Not being strapped to the bed during labour is v important for me so will all depend on whether or not they are prepared to go with monitoring every 15 mins. It's a difficult decision

Coolhand · 29/07/2013 18:11

Oh Becca virtually holding your hand. Rest up and make sure you have someone to look after you. Waiting it out sounds very stressful for you. Remember if you're so sick that you can't keep liquids down, you may become dehydrated and you should go to A and E.

PramelaAndherson · 29/07/2013 18:12

Becca, you poor thing, please try to stay calm. My two friends over on a different thread have both had snot-like bleeding and subsequent scans showed all was good. Your vomiting confirms high levels of HcG, no? I know it's terrifying seeing that stuff in your knickers but please try to stay rational; you have no severe cramping and you are being sick. Hugs x

Souredstoneshasasouredpebble · 29/07/2013 18:41

Try and stay positive becca I had a massive bleed akin to a period and bean was still well today

Souredstoneshasasouredpebble · 29/07/2013 18:42

pram what will you change your name to if bean is a girl? Grin

thecakeisalie · 29/07/2013 18:45

Sorry for your loss Twinkly x

Hope everything works out for you Becca I can understand how worrying it must all be x

I rang the dr's this morning as I need to register with them and the receptionist gave me a booking in appt for tomorrow even though I'm only 6-7wks. I figured at least it means I should get my scan date through with plenty of notice.

Still not really feeling pregnant. Having said that I ended up in tears this morning over trivial stuff just glad DH works from home as I ended up going and asking for a cuddle because I crying my eyes out. Just glad he's so understanding.

mimili · 29/07/2013 19:12

becca here to hold your hand.
I was in a similar position last week so understand. All was ok though. Wishing the same for you

ShamelessInTheCountry · 29/07/2013 19:43

Thanks MTBMummy, just saw the first thread for this and the graphs, hilarious! Impressed!!
So if you need, I'm 29, it's sprog to be número uno, and due date is march 7th, v soon after my 30th, messed that party up didn't it!

Beccadugs · 29/07/2013 19:44

Thanks everyone!

Seems to have eased a bit, now only when I wipe. Sickness has come roaring back so hopefully that's a good sign.

holycowwhatnow · 29/07/2013 19:51

Twinkly I'm so sorry. I had my ERPC today so I know how you feel.

Becca, if you look at the stats on the Miscarriage Association website, the odds are very very much in your favour if you've seen a heartbeat. It's crap that you have to go through this worry.

Soured, I just came on here to see how you got on in your scan and I'm so so glad to see that all was well. Best of luck with the rest of it and I hope that's the end of the drama for you.

To everyone else, I wish you all the very best. It's so lovely to have a place to come to when you have worries. I hope next March you'll all have bouncing bruisers on your laps.

IceNoSlice · 29/07/2013 21:08

Coolhand I think I'm in a similar position to you. I'm thinking VBAC too.

PramelaAndherson · 29/07/2013 21:19

HolyCow, you are so gracious to come and see how people are getting along, especially after the sadness of today. I wish you all the very best.

Becca, what HolyCow said is very reassuring. Hang on in there.

Soured Grin I have considered this and don't know! Any suggestions?

HotCrossPun · 29/07/2013 21:27

I've changed my Maternity care so its nearer to me and I got my booking in and first scan letters today.

Booking in on the 8th and scan on the 21st. We've decided that providing all is well at the scan then we will tell people that day. It will be mine and DP's anniversary that day too Smile

It got me thinking about how I'm going to tell my mum and dad & DP's parents.

Is anybody planning anything wacky?

I feel like I could burst with excitement right now, going round to the house and saying 'I'm pregnant' isn't quite going to cut it Grin

HotCrossPun · 29/07/2013 21:28

HolyCow Thanks

Beccadugs · 29/07/2013 21:48

Thanks again everyone.

Thank you holycow, your words were very reassuring and I did have a look! I hope you are feeling OK.

JBrd · 29/07/2013 21:53

Pram - yes, I will have to have the injections all the way through to birth (probably stopping shortly before I have the baby, whichever way that will be) and then for another 6 weeks afterwards. I had a pulmonary embolism last year, which is caused by DVT, so I'm at a higher risk for blood clots due to the pregnancy.
Not great, but I don't really mind, the injections are really the least of my worries. Yes, I have a lower abdomen in all the hues and clolours of the rainbow from the bruising, but I feel safer that way.

Becca - what a scare! Hope it'll all ease off now and you can get some rest! Call the EPU directly, if you're still worried, they might be able to reassure you.

Hot No, not planning anything wacky for telling the family... My sister is visiting mid-August, my mum at the Bank holiday weekend, so I'm planning to tell them when they're here. My family all live abroad, so it's a bonus being able to tell them face to face. Everyone else, incl DH family, won't get told until the 12-week scan, I think. I'm too superstitious now...

Lambchop14 · 29/07/2013 21:55

April I'm in Scotland too and no one has told me to take Vitamin D. My doctor told me in my first appointment to take folic acid but that's all. What happens if I don't take it so you know? Also, my scan is the 28th too :) are you having an additional one through your midwife or did you book it yourself.

Sorry to all those that have had bad news recently.
