also a firm believer in dildocam

AndieDisestablishment · 26/07/2013 15:21

Grin at Dildocams. That's ace, I'll have to share that with the midwives at work. One of them the other day told us that the term "Multip-sos" (sp?) was polite medical terminology for "sloppy cervix" so as this is my third baby I shall look forward to hearing that upon examination.lol (It basically means your cervix is already slightly dilated because you've had a previous baby)

Anyway....

Glad to hear good scan news ladies.
MTB Call me weird but I'd quite like twins.
Impatiently Women all "expell" HcG in different concentrations anyway, that's why this digis have such a degree of in accuracy. Ask for a blood test to put your mind at rest, it doesn't matter if it can't prevent anything, at least you'll know what's going on.

HAS FOUND MY LOVE OF FOOD AGAIN......WHOOOP WHOOOOPP :)

Writerwannabe83 · 26/07/2013 15:57

Congrautlations Mimili - brilliant news!!

And impatientlywaiting - as has been said, try not to worry too much though I know it's easier said than done. I hope you get your reassurance soon x x

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 26/07/2013 16:05

Mortified if you aren't a big fat bloater like me, you should be able to feel your uterus from outside. You need to push your fingers down behind your pubic bone. At twelve weeks the uterus should be level with the top of the bone, at 8 its down below. I managed it with my others but I'm much fatter now so the chub gets in the way! Confused

FrankelInFoal · 26/07/2013 16:11

Congrats on all the successful scans Grin

I have been a frequent user of dildocams for the last 2 years while undergoing fertility treatment. I told my nurse that women refer to them as such and she replied "I'm sorry these font have quite the same effect!" Grin

PramelaAndherson · 26/07/2013 16:32

...she's obviously not using it right Grin

JBrd · 26/07/2013 16:52

Pram and mimi Great to hear about your good scan news! You can now go and enjoy the weekends!

Of course, everyone else should do that, too!

While not being a particular fan of the dildocam, I found it to be far less uncomfortable than expected - I remember that when I had it for the first time, I was steeling myself for a smear-test-like experience, only to then go 'That's it?!' Grin

You have to give it to modern technology, it's great what they can do nowadays. My mum didn't get any scans at the time all, nor an epidural (yes, I'm ancient).

Starting to think if I should get an early scan after all... Wonder if the mw might be able to refer me to have one, with my age, multiple mcs and medical history... Will ask her next week.

impatientlywaiting · 26/07/2013 17:33

Thank you all for being so lovely.

I've called and made an appointment with my GP for 6:30pm today. Just checked and when I wipe there is some red fresh looking blood. I have had a few cramps throughout the day, but fairly mild. I'm not feeling too hopeful. Trying to tell myself the blood and clear blue being a week out could be a coincidence (me and DH DTD for the first time last night since we conceived and I have previously been told I have an eroded cervix which may be worse in pregnancy) but think I'm kidding myself.

Will keep you all updated.
Thanks again for your kind words and reassurances.

rescoonetwothree · 26/07/2013 17:38

hope all goes well impatiently

is anyone exercising at all? i feel extremely guilty that i am sat on my butt 99% of the time.

does anyone know at what stage it's ok to join the aqua natal etc groups? or is it just whenever - i don't want to feel like a fraud without a bump?

Souredstoneshasasouredpebble · 26/07/2013 17:51

impatiently will be thinking of you

My mum is driving me mad 'I bled for a few days with all of you so man up and get on with it' which is fine but I'm not asking her opinion at any point. She also thinks I shouldn't be off work.

I'm cramping so bad today and still bleeding red blood. They said it would start to stop by now Sad I feel like shit in all fairness

Souredstoneshasasouredpebble · 26/07/2013 17:52

I'm also feeling so sorry for my husband as we've had no sexual contact for weeks now, I'm just not feeling like it (nor do I know if I'm allowed when I'm bleeding!) but he's being so good about everything. He even came home in his lunch break today just to give me a cuddle and went away again

IceNoSlice · 26/07/2013 18:02

FX for you impatiently

Interesting about the pelvis thing, Saggy, I'll give that a try. Is it better done lying down?

Yay Soured's DH! Brownie points for you.

greymoose I'm trying to exercise but it's hard in this heat and feeling this tired! I went for a bike ride with DS today (which was really lovely) but that's all I've managed this week. But Amazon emailed to say my preg Pilates DVD is on its way so hopefully will arrive soon.

Chosenbyyou · 26/07/2013 18:02

New entry! Bit late to join but am in the march window, child #1, first month trying so quite shocked as had convinced myself it would be much later in the year. Tested two days after due, faint line so we threw it away, next day tested again for first morning pee, darker line so we looked at each other and started laughing!

Xx

Souredstoneshasasouredpebble · 26/07/2013 18:03

Welcome aboard!

IceNoSlice · 26/07/2013 18:03

greymoose sorry meant to add, don't know about aqua natal but the pregnancy yoga group I went to last time and am planning to do again is from 14 weeks. Don't know why really.

Chosenbyyou · 26/07/2013 18:03

Thank you, need to catch up on the thread now! X

TWinklyLittleStar · 26/07/2013 18:45

greymoose I've been looking today and all the prenatal classes say they're suitable from after the first trimester. I've been too hot and knackered to even consider much exercise but I've done better with going for a couple of long walks this week.

firsttimekat · 26/07/2013 18:52

Greymoose I've been swimming and going to my normal aqua class, told the instructor when I found out I was preg to check it was still ok. Her advice was to take it easy but from 12 weeks there were certain moves you shouldn't do and that was a good time to join a different pregnancy group.

Have people told work managers? I'm really tempted to tell my manager as I'm feeling overloaded and its starting to stress me out. But worried that its too early to tell her...

impatientlywaiting · 26/07/2013 18:58

Just been to the GP who was lovely. Got an appointment at the EPAU for an early scan on Monday, which is reassuring that I'll know one way or the other then.
I'm guessing if it isn't good news I'll know by then anyway if the bleeding doesn't stop. But just pleased I've got an appointment so won't be left in limbo.

Writerwannabe83 · 26/07/2013 19:07

I'm glad you had a positive experience at the GPs impatiently and I really hope that things settle down over the weekend - and no more DTD. I haven't let my husband near me for 5 weeks (since the OV period finished) and he won't be getting any action from me in the near future either Smile

HotCrossPun · 26/07/2013 19:13

Went for my scan this afternoon and splodge is in the correct place, with his heart beating away.

The sonographer gave me a row for not having had drunk enough water - I was fit to burst!

thecakeisalie · 26/07/2013 19:21

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind if I join I know I'm a bit late I didn't know where to find this thread. I got my bfp for dc no3 last Saturday it was our second month of ttc which a bit of a surprise but very happy just hoping everything goes smoothly.

Defiantly got that worry setting in about making it to the 12wk scan and hoping everything is ok, I know I felt like this last time so its normal but it feels like such a long time away.

Quick question - anyone have morning sickness in previous pregnancies then not develop in other ones? I had morning sickness with both my previous pregnancies lasting until 12-16wks but I haven't really had much/any yet this time. I've had a cold so its been hard to tell whether I just feel ill or its morning sickness nausea. I think its hard to relax without that symptom as I kind of expected to get it again. I'm only 6wks today so it may well start this week but just need to put my mind at rest really. Thanks.

CaptainCalamari · 26/07/2013 19:24

Congratulations to all of those who have had scans, and good luck to those of you waiting and worrying... Flowers
I've got my booking in on Tuesday, and private scan on Friday (should be 8+1), so next week is the week I get to confirm that there's really a baby in there! Have been feeling knackered but no particular symptoms, which I think makes it harder to believe. Keep having to remind myself it was the same with DS (and he's definitely real!)
Have a lovely, relaxing weekend all. I have visitors who I don't want to know I'm pregnant, so not too relaxing for me!

MTBMummy · 26/07/2013 19:35

Hi chosen and cake welcome on board

Cake I don't know if it helps, but I had no symptoms at all with DD but this time round I feel awful, morning sickness, constipation, sore nips, dizzy the works, so I think it can differ from pregnancy to pregnancy

Whoever is was asking about exercise, you can continue with any excercise you were doing pre pg, you just need to keep your heart rate low and listen to your body so you don't over do it. I'm still cycling and plan to continue until 5/6 months when I get too big to ride properly.
