Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It would be terrifying but not the end of the world if it was twins. in someways twins would be kind of nice - I can't believe I'm saying that

April13 · 26/07/2013 10:38

i think i would actaully pee my knickers in complete and utter fear if they told me it was twins....

MTBMummy · 26/07/2013 10:55

I think because I've had a couple of days to get used to the idea it's not quite as scary.

At first I was afraid, I was prettified, kept thinking... nope sorry wrong thought process Smile

Even DP has gone from "oh god no!" to "it would be kind of cool"

Coolhand · 26/07/2013 11:27

MTBI salute your calm. I would also go into blind panic at the prospect of twins - I found one hard enough (think I have a low chaos threshold).

Impatiently I agree with above but do ask for an HCG blood test from GP to set mind at rest - it's the only thing that will be accurate!

impatientlywaiting · 26/07/2013 11:31

Thanks Saggy and MTB,

I keep trying to be reasonable and I know that home tests must have some degree of unaccuracy, but after seeing it I can't help but be upset.

As ever Dr Google has been as pessimistic as ever with most of the posts relating to clearblue weeks indicators being less than expected seeming to end in miscarriage.

I know that clear blue would have told me 3 weeks at the most as its from conception, rather than LMP. But checking through my dates when we DTD I should really be 3 weeks post conception.

Wasn't sure whether to call the doctors yet as I'm so early, I keep thinking that they will just tell me I need to wait it out as there is nothing that could be done if I was M/cing anyway.

Thanks for the replies, as no one apart from DH knows in real life, it's been good to be able to vent my stresses on here. Xx

MummyPig24 · 26/07/2013 11:33

I was hoping it was twins and was a teensy bit disappointed there was only one baby on my scan! But so relieved that he was ok!

I haven't told the children about the baby. I expect we will show them a picture and tell them after the 12 week scan, when we can tell other people.

Rockchick1984 · 26/07/2013 11:41

Impatient if it helps at all, with the pregnancy I miscarried clearblue put me too far ahead - 2-3 weeks when it should have been 1-2 then 3 days later went up to 3+ so I don't think there's necessarily a direct link! Could be as simple as your egg took longer to implant, apparently that takes about a week but can actually be anything from 3-10 days!

rescoonetwothree · 26/07/2013 12:03

impatient mine was behind for two weeks and i saw the heartbeat last week, so try not to worry.

hotcross awww they are so cute, i honestly have no idea how i will love a baby as much as i love my dog haha!

HotCrossPun · 26/07/2013 12:05

We are actually hoping for twins. DP is a bit older than me, so it would make sense time-wise for us get 2 children for one pregnancy Grin

Not a chance in hell of it happening though. No twins in our families, I'm young etc etc.

Scan today, if I hear one healthy heartbeat I am going to be over the moon!

Pramela should be along soon to let us know how she got on. Lets send her some positive vibes. ~~~~~~~ - that's the symbol for vibes, in case you didn't know Grin

MummyPig24 · 26/07/2013 12:15

My friend had identical twin girls last night. Haven't seen pics yet. My neighbour that is coming over today has identical twin girls too. There must be something in the water around here!

MortifiedAdams · 26/07/2013 12:17

Good luck to all those who have scans in the next few days. I have my booking in appt on Tuesday and Im hoping she brings with her the scan date! My younger sister lives away and will be home when I am.around the 12 week.mark for a few days. Im.hoping its while she is home incase she wants to come.

Does anyone know - cpuld the MW tell by feeling my stomach whether I am 8ish or 12ish weeks? I felt very much pregnant in the week before my last period.and it is really playing on my mind that it might not have been AF but an implantation.bleed.

PramelaAndherson · 26/07/2013 12:26

Aw, I can't thank you all enough for your kindliness, I'm very grateful to you all.

I am over-the-moon to report that prawn-head is doing brilliantly with a strong heartbeat and is measuring 8+3, which brings my due date forward from 6th March to the 4th. And guess what? They're scanning me again in two weeks! I am so, so grateful and they have told me I am being looked after like this because of last year's mmc and because this is an IVF baby (she was polite enough to not mention I'm a dinosaur). So...my care will be consultant-led and I will be assigned a one-on-one midwife who will come to my home throughout the pregnancy!

Oh, I forgot to ask for a scan photo (coz i iz a dick, innit). It was a belly scan this time and rubbishly unclear and fuzzy - I honestly saw more at the six-week vaginal scan - but she pointed out the heartbeat and this prawn-like head developing and it was reading the Daily Mail and looking like this: Hmm

I am in love Blush

PramelaAndherson · 26/07/2013 12:28

HotCross, I am roaring you and your little one on.

Impatient, I have had to befriend the beige sludge in my knickers as it doesn't seem to want to leave the party. Please step away from the digis - you cannot trust them.

LyraSilvertongue · 26/07/2013 13:22

Yay Pramela Grin
I also forgot to ask for a pic. I'll just have to be patient till my 12-week scan. I can't wait to see my kidney bean again.

LyraSilvertongue · 26/07/2013 13:26

Mortified, pretty sure they won't be able to feel anything yet as your uterus should still be behind the pubic bone.

Coolhand · 26/07/2013 13:36

Great news Pramela!

mimili · 26/07/2013 13:38

I had a scan! My six week splodge has a heart beat!!!

No explanation for bleeding just need to take it easy and hope it doesn't occur again!

Back at work but want to cry (happy tears!! )

p.s vaginal scans. not pleasant when unexpected!!!

mimili · 26/07/2013 13:41

pramela great news!! x

MTBMummy · 26/07/2013 13:44

Fantastic new Pram really happy for you

Mortified the best thing would be an HCG blood test that will tell how far along you are

Hoping we hear some good news from HotCross this afternoon

Had my bloods back and it's unlikely to be twins - a mix of relief that bloods are normal which means bean is sticky, and mild disappointment that there's not two of them

MTBMummy · 26/07/2013 13:45

yay mimili so happy you have a healthy little bean

LittleMachine · 26/07/2013 13:47

Great news on today's scans, really pleased for you both.

April13 · 26/07/2013 13:51

Just booked an early scan for Tuesday night....nervous now.....

PramelaAndherson · 26/07/2013 14:03

Thank you, ladies, for your support.

Mimi, I'm thrilled for you!

I love dildocams Hmm

mimili · 26/07/2013 14:59

am chuckling at 'dildocams'!!!!

LittleMachine · 26/07/2013 15:11

I prefer dildocam, as you don't need a full bladder.
