Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
andadietcoke · 05/07/2013 16:50

Ooh yes frog, I had that a month or so ago. Dr Google told me it was normal Grin

CharlW1 · 05/07/2013 17:18

Me too frog I have had it across bump and underneath bump too - it's on and off and have been told its normal Smile

frogchops · 05/07/2013 17:40

Ahh that's good then, being as I've never had BH I wondered if this was it....
Mooster, yes! I feel like that always! :-/

frogchops · 05/07/2013 17:41

Also, I think babying not be head down anymore based on the feeling that he's trying to poke a foot out! Has occasionally taken me quite by suprise!

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 05/07/2013 18:14

Mooster yes yes and thrice yes... Today DH gave me a potato salad, tomatoes and mackerel for lunch. I wolfed it down, then had mackerel burps all afternoon. Good job I was at home!

jennimoo · 05/07/2013 18:50

I'm ok eating but if I lean over at all in the half hour after eating or drinking it sort of comes back up :( Putting shoes on is the worst. I'm glad this is (supposed to be...) my last pregnancy!

frogchops · 05/07/2013 19:44

Right I'm all caught up....some light reading after a hot vile 5 hour car journey home from Cornwall. Hmm
So, I've looked at the baby bath range and although I'd picked one from mothercare....I'm how thinking about getting the Tipytoes small thing instead...the tummy tub scares me a little, don't ask why Blush
Have also looked at kips' recommendation for perineal massage...didn't really know how it went, but now I do after watching some online woman do it on a model. I didn't realise u actually stretch the exit?!?! I thought u just massaged round it....everydays a school day! Must remember to cut nails for that! Ouch! Blush

twintrimum · 05/07/2013 20:33

Great news ready!

Triple, i'm consultant led too but because of the twins (my first). Would have loved to have gone to a birthing centre for a water birth but having to accept I have no choice. I'm hoping that consultant led doesn't mean having to be strapped to monitors and lying on my back the whole time. I could still end up with an elcs too.

Mooster - yes, me too. In the last few days i've had more heartburn, i've found it harder to breathe and i've started to be sick again. Relentlessly burping up acid too.

I'm not sure about this heat. I hate to grump but I've gone from 'starting to get a few niggles' to constantly irritable and uncomfortable in one afternoon. Time to get a grip....!!

Fozziebearmum2be · 05/07/2013 21:26

Frog-sure I watched the same video with a big plastic model... V weird

Back to bump sizes...mw appt today and she said I was a good size-still under 90% (just!) she said that your fundus isn't the same as measuring the baby and that often some babies like to stretch themselves out. Also some people can have extra fluid (nothing to be concerned about either). She said if I was over 90% they'd send me for a growth scan.

...also said that people commenting on bump sizes are annoying and unhelpful to pg women.

Quite like her-she made me feel much better Smile

Dorita75 · 06/07/2013 07:05

I saw that video too, yep, every day's a school day, agree with that! Was talking exercise in work and a mum of 2 (kids teenagers now) said the only exercise to do is your pelvic floor, while opening her eyes really wide to make the point! I'm trying, just keep forgetting!

Glad all's well Ready.

We're getting a bath from my brother&SIL, mainly to avoid filling proper bath. We don't have curtains in kitchen so wi stick to bath!

I'm looking forward to some heat, am lucky not to be suffering too much, tho just waiting for ankles etc to swell any day...

frogchops · 06/07/2013 08:48

Needed to share a dream I had last night ....
I was yelling my old school dance teacher why I had been going to dance lessons and pointed out the bump, she then rubbed it and poked it and baby poked out of the bump, still inside but I could see his face and everything. She then undid (?!) my bump like it was a clutch bag with those metal clasps and unzipped a plastic bag in it (like boil in the bag!) and my baby was just lying there Blush he cried a bit, moved and wriggled and then we zipped him back up! But it was so vivid, i can remember his face and he had loads of dark hair. Very bizarre to say he was in a freezer bag!
The dance teacher still told me I needed a note from my mum! Grin

jennimoo · 06/07/2013 09:40

That's a great dream frog!

Fozziebearmum2be · 06/07/2013 10:36

Love it frog-would make birth a whole lot easier?

Fozziebearmum2be · 06/07/2013 10:39

No idea why I put a ? Smile

kimjayne · 06/07/2013 11:34

good lord its hot!!! I dont have appropriate clothes for this weather.

Mooster1709 · 06/07/2013 12:43

I hear you kim. Off to buy lollies. In clothes that fall into the official category of 'underwear'.

Fozziebearmum2be · 06/07/2013 13:57

Boiling too Shock sat in the car for some air con relief!

Does anyone know anything about a Baby Bjorn? There seems to be 3 different kinds and not sure what the differences are and whether they are any good?

juniper9 · 06/07/2013 15:58

Fozzie, I bought the babybjorn active yesterday from amazon. We tried a few on (well, I tried to try a few on) and definitely preferred the babybjorn range. I went with the active simply because it lasts longer, and it's 1/3 off at the moment. It's also really easy to get in and out of- some of them are like Fort Knox.

Dorito, I had two people grip me by the arm yesterday and tell me, with urgency, to do my pelvic exercises. When I light heartidly joked about it, they shared ALL the details. Fun!

SGJ · 06/07/2013 20:44

I've downloaded an app - 'My PFF' - you can set a daily reminder to do your pelvic floor exercises! It's quite handy really as I never do them otherwise.
I had my first baby dream last night too - up until now I've just been dreaming about my students and all of their various issues, so this was a welcome relief! I dreamt I'd had the baby, it was a boy, he wouldn't breastfeed and I couldn't remember his name so we called him Owen in the end. Took me a good few minutes when I woke up to remember what our boy name actually is - nothing like Owen at all!

RunningBear78 · 06/07/2013 21:48

I think I've just about survived the heat although mostly by hiding inside to avoid hayfever!

No baby dreams from me recently, although dh did dream that my boobs fell off ... Hmm

Also, milestone ...first nipple leakage! Excited, mainly as I've been worried that despite being huge they might not work for milk production. I am wondering how much they might leak in the weeks/months to come though. Do I need breast pads soon? Anyone else got leaky nips?!

CheeseStrawCraving · 06/07/2013 22:04

Ooh I got my leaky nips for the first time yesterday! Although actually I did have a little squeeze to see if they would 'work' as they have not grown in cup size, just round my back!

I bought a second hand baby bjorn, trouble is I have no idea which one it is nor how it works so I think I'll have to pretend I'm buying one to suss it out!

How long before your due dates are you all going on maternity leave?

frogchops · 06/07/2013 22:10

Phew at least I know its leaky nip time.... One of mine (just one, is this normal?) looked like it had leaked and dried. I was most Blush about it, I didn't squeeze it, I think it must've happened overnight. :-/

Fozziebearmum2be · 06/07/2013 22:11

Bear-I got a few leaks a few months ago but had nothing since....really freaked me out when I found them! Advice I found on Internet is that it's not linked to milk production so some people get leakage and some don't.

Thanks for the tip around the PFF app have downloaded it and started them, but doesn't feel that hard, makes me think I'm not doing them right..

Fozziebearmum2be · 06/07/2013 22:12

Cheese-I'm taking 3 weeks hols before starting mat leave. Mat leave coincides with my due date.

CheeseStrawCraving · 06/07/2013 22:26

www.fill-your-pants.com/cloth-nappy-trial/nappy-trial.html

Right this is the first time I've tried a link so hope it works! Following on from the person who posted the cheeky wipes link (just about to order so thanks!) - really sorry can't remember who without going back through fred! This looks like an excellent idea for those who want to try cloth but have no idea where to start (like me!). Beware though, was about to order and realised the trial starts from the day you receive them so no good for pre-purchasing!
