jelly tootsmcginty do nice unisex clothes but don't think they start until a bit bigger than newborn. Also frugi and bob and blossom tend to be more fun than super girly. I'm the same as you of I have a girl she won't be in pink all the time.
Glad to hear you're keeping an eye on it warlin, when it happened to me it kept happening so perhaps yours wasn't an amnio leak and just discharge?
Have found holiday insurance to cover me up to 35 weeks so now just got to lie to the airline and fingers crossed they don't demand to see my notes or something. South of France here I come! Bet the beaches there will never have seen a preggo lady as large as moi if they are as strict as everyone says they are!

Warlin · 03/07/2013 15:50

My first labour lasted 7 hours and I had a ball for the first few hours! I was induced...the Eurovision song contest was on and once on the gas and air I was in great form. Would def recommend as it's like being very tipsy after 9 months of practically no alcohol..think DH and the midwife were laughing at all my jokes which spurred me on!! Then as the pain really started to set in I moved onto remifentinol (which is slef administered) and worked for most of the time. I remember the pain becoming overwhelming all of a sudden and I really thought I needed a poo...turned out it was the head and it was time to push. All a bit of a blur and sore at the time but I'm less anxious this time about it so either it wasn't really that bad or else mother nature is very sneaky!!

I agree with everyone else, at least you get someone wonderful out of it. I have to get a wisdom tooth out after I have the baby and I'm dreading that more :)

I have to say though, I didn't get that wow, instant love sensation that you see in the movies...I was just totally exhausted, felt a bit sick and overwhelmed and wanted to sleep!

BowlFullofJelly · 03/07/2013 15:58

Lovely stuff on those sites as well, thanks shooting. I do get very confused every time I go to France for work - they are all SO slim, but seem to eat three courses for every meal. Don't understand!

claphammama · 03/07/2013 16:03

I haven't read it bit heard about this book: mireilleguiliano.com/section/sub/14

FeministInTraining · 03/07/2013 16:24

Flyer I'm with everyone else on the weight front. I've struggled to feel comfortable in clothes as I've put on 2.5st and although I've always wanted to put on weight (women in my family are very slim until they get to about 40 and then go the complete opposite way) but this has happened quite quickly and a lot seems to have gone to my face which I'm not too keen on. But I have a friend who started out slimmer than me, put on about 4st and looked like a different person during pregnancy and now is back to looking exactly as she did before. So I'm trying to eat healthily because I know it's good for me and baby (and I'm a bit scared about the GTT) but will think about weight once the baby is here hopefully weighing 2st Hmm

Jelly I'm with you and the unisex clothes, I love the bright and beautiful range at Next but have struggled to find other places that do unisex bright colours as well as the usual neutrals that I have some of. My mum found some in Sainsburys in the sale (she's the best bargain hunter) that are really bright. There's a sleepsuit with dinosaurs that has purple in it too to stop it being too boyish. I much prefer purple to pink for girls. Grin @ Claphammama and hair brushing.

Bridget and Slippy thanks for the book recommendation I like the sound of it! Not sure about the orgasmic thing, but I am trying to think really positively about labour so that might help.

Off for early dinner with my dad, he's come to get me from work! Must order healthily...

SeriousStuff · 03/07/2013 16:42

clapham my DH keeps telling me to try some aqua natal classes and he just doesn't get that even if it is going to be full of other pregnant women, I don't really want to wear a swimming costumer thank you! I'm jealous of your holiday though - a tan always helps!

SeriousStuff · 03/07/2013 16:43

*costume

rubytwosday · 03/07/2013 16:51

jelly I am also having a girl and hate pink! Have my eye on the cutest set of sleep suits (baby grows? Still don't fully understand the lingo!) in sainsburys. One is navy and white striped, one is green with white polka dots and one has colourful cats all over it. I really really want them but been in twice this week and they have only had newborn or 9-12 months. I don't want to wait til she's 9 months old but the newborn says upto 7 pounds and she might be bigger than that!

Flyer747 · 03/07/2013 16:58

Serious and Clapham I'm thinking a tan might cover up the cellulite I currently have around my ass and tops of legs. I might have to find a deserted beach somewhere so I dare bare my body. Same as you 5ft 4 and a size 8, I always wanted to be taller but I blame myself for smoking as a teenager, (it must have stunted my growth as my sister is 5ft 8) Grin

claphammama · 03/07/2013 17:10

my sister is also 5'8'' flyer - how funny Grin I'm a family midget and didn't smoke as a teenager. Don't really mind it to be honest but, like you, never feel I look good without heels

The logistics of tanning my ass and back legs still stress me out - I guess I will start digging this bump hole in the sand as soon as I arrive...

A small moan... my teeth are so sensitive today and I have a weird semi-painful feeling in my mouth all the time... it started last night, I couldn't drink anything cold and was in agony brushing my teeth. And it's still here. Apparently it's relatively common in pregnancy - but quite painful and ruins my mood today. Also, feeling incredibly thirsty all day no matter how much I drink. Anyone else with similar symptoms?

BowlFullofJelly · 03/07/2013 17:15

I actually did the bump hole when I went to Spain at 20 weeks - obviously bump was smaller but really worked, and was very comfortable!

Ruby was going to suggest online, but just checked sainsbo's site and they have sod all! Why is the range so limited online - very odd!

Umlauf · 03/07/2013 17:23

Ooh I was thinking about the bump hole idea the other day!! Its raining loads at the moment but will hopefully get beach time in August... At the moment I look a completely different race front and back as only tanned on front!

Flyer747 · 03/07/2013 17:40

Well hole in the sand it is then, people might think I'm an insane crazy pregnant lady when they see me digging, but hey ho I will never see them again and it means I will have an even tan. Clapham you can get your DS to dig your hole Grin

My teeth are also really sensitive they have been for a while but I've blamed the sweets. I went to the dentist last week and got lectured about flossing more whilst being pregnant. I was also a bit miffed as I went for my 6 month check up and as it's now free he did the quickest slap dash job, funny how I need all sorts doing when I'm paying!

Also I have the thirst too, did yesterday as well, I've been naughty and had 5 mugs of tea both days. I'm into elderflower cordial at the moment , but that keeps hurting my teeth too.

HotSoupDumpling · 03/07/2013 17:48

I absolutely love the bump in the sand idea!

Have really hit a wall when it comes to unisex baby clothing. Can't find anything that is just...a nice pattern. It's all cars or flowers, or 'I love mummy'. Grah!

claphammama · 03/07/2013 17:55

All part of being a supportive partner flyer Grin And I like elderflower cordial too. One of those not too sweet drinks I can bear

what about this hotsoup? I find that Nordic countries do unisex and interesting bold patterns really well [http://www.nordickids.co.uk/]

Flyer747 · 03/07/2013 18:08

I've just confirmed my place on a hen do next year to Madrid for 3 nights, that will be my target for losing the baby weight! Already excited Smile

HotSoupDumpling · 03/07/2013 18:12

So cute clapham!

Flyer, forgot to say, don't be down about weight. As everyone says, women put on and lose weight very differently during pregnancy. And it's so difficult to tell whether we are putting weight on ourselves, our baby, or just have loads of amniotic fluid or massive placentas! I'm sure you will be very body confident by the time you hit Madrid!

PseudoBadger · 03/07/2013 18:12

Sorry I've missed loads today - work is insane at the moment and I'm doing at least an hour extra every day, bloody knackered!

Flyer, I have definitely accepted now that I just gain weight when pregnant even if I'm not particularly gluttonous (is that a word?) I know a lot of it is water for me. I'm 5ft 2 and size 8-10 normally and have gained at least 2 stone by now (25 weeks).

Flyer747 · 03/07/2013 18:16

The little white company do some nice bits, they have a range called the elephant range and it's got some lovely unisex bits. They also have lots of nice bits for boys and girls.

claphammama · 03/07/2013 18:40

pregnancy brain is kicking in... started cooking dinner at 5.30 and then left to pick up DS from the afterschool club, leaving it cooking on the hob... came back after 20min to burnt dinner but luckily not burnt house... domestic goddess FAIL :-(

PseudoBadger · 03/07/2013 18:49

Oops! Glad the house is still intact :o

LostMySocks · 03/07/2013 19:10

LostMySocks · 03/07/2013 19:12

A friend of a friend tripped while pregnant and got taken to a central London A&E. They refused to discharge her until someone brought in her notes so they could add details about her fall.
I still don't carry them but do take when I'm on an overnight trip

Soupqueen · 03/07/2013 19:12

Catching up on today's chat, I'm now worried about waters leaking. Sad

My knickers have definitely been damp the last few days, how do I know whether it's anything to worry about?

JellyCurls · 03/07/2013 19:21

Soup I have same worries. I seem to be constantly sniffing my pants Blush to see if its wee but its def not, so for moment I am putting it down to sweat or discharge. How glamourous is this pregnancy malarkey! Will mention to MW next week when I see her.
