Hey clapham Kate M wears heels and she isn't a chav! Lol GrinGrin
I wonder if her feet swell in them like mine did...

claphammama · 02/07/2013 18:25

you know what... I was thinking exactly the same thing earlier! she definitely manages to do pregnancy and heals.

claphammama · 02/07/2013 18:26

heels even :-)

Flyer747 · 02/07/2013 18:30

Kim Kardashians style v Kate M....worlds apart. Kate M has looked so stylish throughout her pregnancy, but then again she is royalty.

claphammama · 02/07/2013 18:30

ps. I really hope to do birthing pool this time flyer! couldn't do it with DS though so no experience...

Natalieand · 02/07/2013 18:31

U no what in all the pics I have seen of Kate pregnant she barely has a bump either that or she hides it extremely well, I wonder if she has to put up with rediculous comments from ppl like 'look at the size your boobs' 'look at the size of your arse' lol did Kate have a baby shower?

Seriously as much as I don't wanna constipated and I no I mentioned this a few days ago but everytime I eat I seem to spend the next few hours on the toilet on and off which is no good cos it means I can be on and off the toilet till 3am after I've had dinner and its certainly making it rather sore!

I'm certain I don't have a bug as its been going on for like a week and I'm not feeling ill at all, I haven't had pregnancy vitamins for a week either now as someone mentioned that they can sometimes cause it.

I seem to have seen my midwife loads for some reason I saw her at 5,13,18,22 and booked in for 26 weeks then again at 27weeks for GTT then consultant at 28 weeks. ? As well as already seeing consultant at 15 weeks

Haylebop12 · 02/07/2013 18:47

flyer using a pool never crosses my mind with dd but since watching one born every minute I really want to. Will arrange my tour of the hosp for when I've broken up from
Work probably and discuss it then. I didn't have dd there as I was living in Lancashire at the time so had her in Bury.

threeblondies I'm finishing work end of august for the same reason. Dd starts school plus I'm already getting fed up! Can you tag holiday on to extend it?

My mw appts are 8, 16, 25, 31, 34, 36, 38, 40 + 42. Funny how they all differ!

OrangeBlossom2 · 02/07/2013 18:53

Sorry a few of you are having reduced movements. Glad you got reassurance and hope white blood count doesn't affect anything feminist.
MoN how cute!
Wow at some of us being into third trimester already!
I get daily comments about my bump at work, although mainly positive about it being neat or looking nice I don't like being told it is little. Andone day it won't be so small and all at the front and more and I don't want to be told I have spread out then!
Midwife appointment on Friday and that is also latest day I can tell work when I plan to leave so hoping I get my mat1 form then. I then have a physio appointment next week. Glad as I was limping again today.

Shootingstarsandcomets · 02/07/2013 19:02

Kate middletons bump is tiny, I think mine is the same size and I have lots of weeks to go!
No advice on birthing pool either sorry flyer ds was an emcs and this one looks like being elcs or if I do get my way and have a vbac they'll have me very closely watched I think so no way they'd let me in a pool. My friend had one though and get all the way to pushing with no pain relief but then she pushed for two hours and her little girl had got stuck so she ended up as an emcs. She said it was good whilst it lasted though!
Can't believe some people are in third trimester already. Weeks still flying by here but only because I have ds to focus on and forget I'm pregnant some days!

thethreeblondies · 02/07/2013 19:08

Yes it's my holiday I'm trying to work out Hayle because I've been there forever I get 8wks hol so mat leave won't kick in till week I'm due, but got a week off in July and one at end of Aug so trying to decide if I should swap a few of those days to take in sept, I'm hardly going to be there lol!

Oh and some inside knowledge, the end of season Next sale starts on the 13th July, I'll let u know of any potential brilliant bargains, I don't need much but like browsing on behalf of other people Grin

Natalieand · 02/07/2013 19:11

Does that mean they will be getting all the winter clothes in threeblondies cos its hard enough to buy boys clothes as it is never mind when its all shorts and tshirts lol

thethreeblondies · 02/07/2013 19:17

Yep the winter range will start coming in after! We have such a small section of little boys/baby stuff, then the less money it takes the smaller an area it gets! Baffling!

chickieno1 · 02/07/2013 19:20

Yikes! Missed the end of the last thread. Will go and catch up and then come back to post properly.

Hope everyone is okay.

Haylebop12 · 02/07/2013 19:21

Eeek I get paid on the 12th!

Thanks for the info blondies!!

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 02/07/2013 19:40

Flyer - I didn't use a birthing pool with DD but I did spend pretty much all my labour in the ensuite bath tub (only got out to actually give birth). It was brilliant for pain relief, ease of movement etc and I'm sure being in water contributed to my speedy labour (arrived at hospital at 9am - DD out at 11.43am) and only needing gas and air.

Tbh I can't imagine labouring on dry land after last time, being in water just felt 'right'. But as you all know I do love my baths Wink Blush

I don't know if I will have access to a birthing pool this time (opting to give birth in the standard delivery unit not the MLU) but as long as I can get in a bath I'll be very happy!

cazboldy · 02/07/2013 19:58

I was in the pool with ds1, but just as it was time to push i wanted to get out!

with all of my labours i have wanted to be in the bath in early labour, and my last one was born in the bath at home just as the mw was running up the stairs.

am planning on the living room with this one, but who knows! Smile

I haven't seen the mw since 16 wks either. I have a GTT test next thursday morning (and the farrier is coming that day, and I'm going to see the script in the evening!) and then the mw for my 28 wk appt the following monday, when i will be exactly 28 wks!

ComtessedeFrouFrou · 02/07/2013 20:07

I've always thought I wouldn't want to use the pool because Im not a bath person but several people have mentioned it to me now.

Can't wait for NCT classes in Aug, got lots of questions!

We're on holiday and doing lots of wandering round towns and museums - I keep forgetting that I can't do as much as I used to - my back starts aching and today in a museum I think my piles must have been throbbing Blush

Two very long days in a row and I'm shattered now.

roxvox · 02/07/2013 20:09

I would like to use a birthing pool too, but have no experience (this is my first). I am not sure if my hospital has the facilities though. They do not offer tours of the maternity unit, so I guess I'll just have to query everyone and anyone who has given birth there to find out!

Has anyone had any experience with either Close Parent Pop in nappies, or TotsBots nappies? My council are doing an offer at the minute where I can buy a selection bundle of one sort or the other for £20 (normally £90). I can only use the offer once, so I am keen to get my choice right!

Natalieand · 02/07/2013 20:17

Baby natalieand is behaving this evening he's jumping all over the place dh can see my belly moving from the other side of the room lol.

I am not allowed a water birth as I'm significantly overweight they say its too risky if I get I to difficulties and struggle to help me out the water... Bit rude if u ask me lol I would have liked to at least labour in the water but don't no if that would even be possible x

OrangeBlossom2 · 02/07/2013 20:31

Glad he is being a good boy.
I am hoping for water birth, two of the four rooms in the MLU have them so will have to wait and see.

roofio87 · 02/07/2013 20:56

I don't want to use a pool. just doesn't appeal to me at all!! not sure why though!
my favorite comment from one of the teenagers I work with tonight was "you look bigger every time I see you!" err, yes you see me once a week and the baby is growing!! she seemed genuinely surprised though!!

Wickedgirl · 02/07/2013 20:57

I too am thinking of a water birth this time. My other 3were typical hospital births so it will be a new experience for me

textbook · 02/07/2013 21:05

Can everyone stop talking about scones and clotted cream please - I'm STARVING today Grin

MrsO27 · 02/07/2013 21:08

Kate M's baby bump is very neat. Anyone seen pics of Frankie from the Saturdays? She's due in November but I think looks like she's due sooner than that. I have the midwife for my 24 week appt. this Thursday. Will get to hear the heartbeat for the first time. Ladies who've been through this before - are there any midwife appointments before the birth where they check your lady bits? Just want to be prepared for that if they do!

JellyCurls · 02/07/2013 21:11

No water birth for me either, had two medical deliveries so far and think will opt for what I know. Last labour was only 2 hours so doubt that would give them enough time to fill the pool anyway.

Strong braxton hicks taking my breath away strong for me tonight and baby still not really moving so looks like I will be calling the midwife tomorrow. Guessing baby has just moved so is kicking inways but think I need a sanity check
