Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SlouchingPanda · 28/06/2013 11:37

Just back from 38 week GP appointment and all is well - sadly no BP issues nor anything else to stop me from going to my annual progress review later Sad Wink.

Had a trip down memory lane wasting time yesterday to check out my first few posts on the July threads. Lots of worrying about not having symptoms, wanting to have a bump and hiding in the work toilets with a doppler for hours... seems like a million years ago in my mahoosive pregnant state!

Dinky enjoy your anniversary plans. My DH has a work contract which runs until 3 days after the due date so I too am under strict instructions to hang on!

38+1

IcingTheCake · 28/06/2013 13:02

Happy anniversary Dinky have a lovely day Smile

slouching it is really strange to think of the early days! I remember standing in front of a mirror trying failing to make it look like i had a bump!! Grin

Had a bit of an eventful morning, im meant to be making a cake for MIL birthday, managed to get the topper done just need to bake the cake now! But stopped for a break to have a bit of brunch and got 2/3 through and threw it all back up, I've not been so sick since the beginning of pregnancy! Then i spent a while on the toilet and found ive lost my mucus plug, probably all the being sick that did it! Sorry for TMI im just hoping this means labour is almost here - 37 weeks tomorrow and im getting very impatient!!! Smile

tryitonforsize · 28/06/2013 14:11

Icing is this your first baby? With my first I went into labour within 12 hours of losing my plug. I know it doesn't necessarily follow but definitely hopeful!

Cheeseandbread · 28/06/2013 15:01

Slouching I just went back and looked at my first post- made me a bit weepy. We've all come so far!

Icing how exciting- sickness and loosing your mucus plug- 2 signs of possibly going into labour... Keep us updated. As my due date buddy I'm hoping this might be good news for me too! I'll probably go overdue now

IcingTheCake · 28/06/2013 15:20

tryiton yeah it is first baby Smile im losing hope of labour in the near future now, literally had nothing since this happened, all BH's stopped, no more sickness or anything Hmm although my hormones are definitely raging! One minute im perfectly happy, the next ive got the right bang ump Confused or close to tears, its really annoying but at least proof my body IS changing albeit not quite how I want it to right now!

cheese as due date buddies, you and Phie aren't allowed to go into labour before me, because it increases my chances of being late, thank you for being so understanding Wink

TotallyEggFlipped · 28/06/2013 15:38

Icing I hope the vomiting has stopped (or it's a sign of impending labour, if you'd prefer that Wink). Really don't think I could cope with vomiting now. No wonder you're feeling hormonal.

Thinkingof4 · 28/06/2013 16:06

icing exciting that at least something is happening! I'm so with you on the hormones! I'm ridiculous at the moment. Anything will set me off- I'm just lazing about watching programe with Sarah Beeny and it's making all emotional thinking I might have my own 4 boys soon! How mad is that!
We have decided on curry tonight so I'm looking forward to that already, we hardly ever get takeaways, I think the last indian we had was 2 years ago when I was overdue with ds! Wish I could remember exactly what I had and I would order it again as I did go into labour the next day.
Dh has handed over most of his current work so is happy for me to pop anytime now, preferably at the weekend when we don't have to worry so much about busy traffic holding us up. Took less than 20 min to get to hospital last time but that was in middle of the night. Would be a good hour at rush hour, plus dh would take up to an hour to get home. Positive thinking, I'm going into labour at night!

lancslass83 · 28/06/2013 16:44

Was very smug that I managed to fit into my swimming costume today despite being ages since I last went, felt pretty good in the pool but absolutely shattered now, was supposed to be ironing this afternoon but just can't face it now.
Lots of braxton hicks, was convinced I was going to go massively overdue but all these early babies are making me worried it might be sooner rather than later.

VinegarDrinker · 28/06/2013 16:59

Phew, shattered after a day volunteering as a parent helper in DS's nursery. He didn't nap either (probably because I was there) so we are both a bit strung out. And DH is working late. Beans on toast for tea I think, don't have the energy for anything else!

Come on, baby, getting fed up now!

dinkystinky · 28/06/2013 17:35

Afternoon all. Clinic was all fine - Bean hated the monitor and literally kicked off for 20 minutes so definitely all OK. Celebrated with kung po chicken in Chinatown and seeing the new Much Ado About Nothing movie which was lovely and also felt v decadent - don't think I've been to the movies by myself since I was a student. Thanks for all the anniversary best wishes.

Icing - v exciting about imminent labour signs for you. Zip here and mW confirmed the head is really high still. Ah well, baby will come when they want to.

Thinking - enjoy your curry tonight! Definitely be telling that baby you are going into labour at night!

Lancslass - I reckon a fair number of us will go overdue to balance out all these early babies!!

Vinegar - respect again at being a parent helper at 40 weeks. No wonder you're tired. Ds2 decided to come the night I was shattered after hoicking ds1 around most of north london and had told dh I was ready for an early night, so tonight might be your night!!!

Shiv posted on FB - Oliver has taken a turn for the worse (he has a hernia and distended tummy making it hard for his lungs to expand on top of everything else). He's undergoing a highly risky transfer to Alder Hey hospital today.

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 28/06/2013 17:43

Further update - Oliver is scheduled for an emergency op today. Please pray for him to come through and to give Shiv and MrShiv comfort and support at this immensely worrying time. X

Persuasion · 28/06/2013 18:13

dinky thanks for the updates on Oliver and shiv. I hope this is just another blip, he's done so well so far. They are all in my thoughts and prayers.

icing that all sounds promising, good luck!

I'm feeling really spaced today and can't really remember who has done what. I woke up feeling sure I was going to go into labour but no objective signs. Then I've been swinging between being tearful and raging mad, feeling starving hungry, and after going shopping I felt an overwhelming urge to shut myself away in my bedroom in the dark. Which i did and now i feel a bit better. It's all very odd, I've had a few stronger Brixton hicks but not enough happening to convince me this is it but it's driving me mad!

Thinkingof4 · 28/06/2013 18:15

Thanks for the updates dinky

shiv keeping everything crossed that Oliver can get through this next hurdle

SundaySunshine · 28/06/2013 18:21

Dinky thanks for the Shiv update, have posted best wishes on her other thread.

Glad all is ok with your little one, and that you had a good day. I would really like to see that film too. I might try an afternoon session whilst DD is at school. Feel I owe myself some me time as it was my birthday this week but didn't get up to anything exciting at all and I'm feeling sorry for myself

Ooh could be the start of something exciting Icing?? I've been having period type pains all day and the feeling that I need a poo (tmi?) maybe I just need a poo! Grin

dinkystinky · 28/06/2013 18:24

Definitely do something nice for yourself Sunday - and happy belated birthday too! Sounds like something may be starting for you too - so exciting!!

OP posts:
TotallyEggFlipped · 28/06/2013 19:07

I haven't been to the cinema in ages! Might try to take the opportunity to go next Friday whilst DD is in nursery. (I'm sure making plans will bring this baby out earlier).

MightBeMad · 28/06/2013 19:49

Thanks for all he good wishes about my down day. I've definitely been feeling better today and baby has been moving more, which is reassuring (not sure which is cause and which effect!). Still need to pack my hospital bag but I'd've spent some quality time with dc1 today so feel better about her having to share me soon.

Icing hope it's a sign labour is imminent for you!!

Absolutely respect for those of you decorating, being parent helpers at nursery, getting out and about at this stage. I don't seem to be able to get through the day without a nap now Blush

Mostly, huge huge hugs to shiv and mr shiv and all my thoughts and strong vibes to them and little Oliver for his transfer and surgery. I hope this turns out just to be another bump in the road to look back on with him in years to come xxx

Silver15 · 28/06/2013 19:53

Happy anniversary Dinky and thanks for the updates on Oliver.

Shiv my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Sunday and Icing that sounds good.

I finished work today and got some lovely baby stuff and vouchers so tomorrow I'm off to debenhams.

I'm desperate for baby to come soon (in a week or so). Will be 36 weeks tomorrow. My first 2 were overdue so it will be nice if this one comes early. Been taking the RLT but I know it does not induce labour but makes the second stage faster though it lasted 5 minutes for both DS.

Silver15 · 28/06/2013 19:56

Just to say that I didnot take RLT with my first 2. Only heard of it from mumsnet.

PhieEl06 · 28/06/2013 20:06

Happy anniversary dinky, I hope you've enjoyed your day! Smile

Slouching the awkward can you tell if it's pregnancy or fat days, I remember those well!

Icing that's exciting but you're not allowed to go into labour yet, neither is cheese, my due date buddies need to hang in there otherwise I will be very sad if you go before me. Sad

Thinking of Shiv & family at this time, they're in my thoughts & prayers!

Happy belated birthday Sunday, I hope your day was relaxing even if you didn't get up to much!

MightBe I would love to be having a nap but I feel like I have so much to do I cannot justify sleeping.

Silver congrats on finishing work, it's the best feeling!

Sorry if I've missed any other personals, it's just taken me over an hour to write this post as was getting distracted in between!

Midwife appointment today, still measuring on the large side for dates but head at 2/5 from 4/5 which according to my notes is engaged below brim of pelvis. I didn't understand this at first as would of thought 5/5 would mean deeply engaged but it's opposite as measured in how free head is... You learn something new everyday!

I hope everyone else lurking & posting is well! Smile

I'm callums mum :) (even though it's still not sunk in yet [shocked]

evelynj · 28/06/2013 20:44

Congrats gingerpanther!

Cinema sounds like a good idea if I can farm DS out one day next week.

Shivs & Oliver-sending lots of good wishes & positive vibes for improvement soon.

Dinky-happy anniversary!

I'm also finding it hard to keep up & remember who's doing what. 2 weeks Monday til my elcs (previous cs & breech baby) & feeling really weird tonight, want baby out but will be panicked if labour starts!

So glad it's the weekend-crap tv & a diet coke for me now, won't help the heartburn mind.

Also just started to get really itchy all over & pelvis is clicking in & out. Woe is me!

Hope everyone else has a good night :)

Cheeseandbread · 28/06/2013 20:49

Oooooooh Phie you've taught me something. I just looked at my notes and last Monday was 3/5 so maybe less by now...?

Dinky sounds like you've had a good day! Thanks for the update on Oliver- I am keeping him in my thoughts and prayers.

Cheeseandbread · 28/06/2013 21:04

Congratulations Gingerpanther Flowers

MightBeMad · 28/06/2013 21:12

Congratulations gingerpanther!!!

Sympathies to all those feeling uncomfy and impatient. Late pg is not a fun place to be is it?!

I think baby has now gone back to my left side (whoop!), though not sure if he's a bit back-to-back. He's feeling really low too - I can no longer sit with my legs together - there's a head in the way (and it's owner objects fiercely!!). Grin
