PhieEl06 · 28/06/2013 21:51

Silver15 · 28/06/2013 21:57

Thanks Phie, I can now attend to my house properly, pack my bags and get ready for baby.

Congrats Gingerpanther.

cheekbyjowl · 28/06/2013 22:11

Happy anniversary dinky hope youre enjoying your evening out..10 years is a big milestone

shiv I've sent prayers up to the big man for oliver. your family are in mine and dhs prayers often.

mightbe oh goodness not being able to cross your legs? is that how it feels? I'm not looking forward to that. Shock I'm very glad to read youre not feeling as anxious anymore though

Congratulations ginger on the birth of your son! another.impatient boy.

sunday it's forecast to be very bright and sunny on sunday...25 degrees ish..can we do a sweepstakes

I made a start on my hospital bag tonight. can I ask if anyone is taking a gro bag with them? if not will the midwife show me how to do the hospital sheets so the baby doesn't get.too warm. I have no idea what to do

VinegarDrinker · 29/06/2013 03:35

Awake as usual and too nauseous to lie down and try and sleep. (Not a 'sign' sadly as it's like this every night!). Also very sore hips/back from all the toddler hoiking today. Moan moan moan!

Any other insomniacs today?

39+4 now, nearly a week past when DS was born. Can't believe I'm still pregnant and could potentially have another 2 weeks left...

McKTastic · 29/06/2013 03:37

Me next Grin Baby Murray arrived 7 mins past midnight. VBAC in hospital pool. Early boy - just like his sister! Was due 22/7; HB kit had been delivered this week - due to be checked in morn & MWs on call from Mon (I guess my babies like hospitalsHmm) Will post again soon. Thinking of Shiv & family x

VinegarDrinker · 29/06/2013 03:40

Oh wow, congratulations!

McKTastic · 29/06/2013 03:43

Thank you Grin Hope you get some sleep soon - it's horrible not being able to rest x

IcingTheCake · 29/06/2013 03:51

thinking fx you go into labour at night! I know what you mean though we're not far from the hospital but its just off the m25! So hit and miss with traffic!

lancslass a maternity or non maternity swimsuit? Either way i dont think you'd catch me in either at this stage, just toooo much hassle to get in and out of! Blush

vinegar good for you volunteering! Dont know where you got the energy for that! Smile

persuasion not too much longer though, even if you go over, max 3 weeks left for you :)

sunday hope you had a nice birthday and definitely do something to treat yourself! How's your period type pains now?

silver you never know you could be early with this one, just because the first two were late, this one might buck the trend :)

phie i think i can't do that im afraid, you and cheese can fight to go after me Wink

evelyn ah at least you have a date to look forward too! :)

mightbe oh that sounds strange, at least you know for sure the head is engaged!! :)

cheek im not taking a grobag but then again we don't have any so thats the only reason why! :)

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes, we went for a nice walk to PIL's last night (half hour each way) because i suddenly had energy to do it, didnt get even a little out of breath so hoping that means baby has moved down. Woke up about 3:00 with quite regular/painful contractions, but they've died down a bit down, but body wont let me sleep for some reason i just feel wide awake. Been nesting all day as well, i didnt really think I'd done much at all, so didnt think i was nesting web when OH said i must be, then i came home and realised how spotless the house was - maybe i am!

37 weeks today - hopefully coming to an end! Grin

IcingTheCake · 29/06/2013 03:52

McKTastic congratulations!! How exciting Smile enjoy your newborn snuggles!

Silver15 · 29/06/2013 04:44

Congrats Mktastic

Vinegar im the club as well. Been Awake for almost 2 hours now.

Icing your symptoms really sound positive. I bet it will be soon.

MightBeMad · 29/06/2013 05:07

Congratulations mckt!!!!

I'm awake eating Blush Grin

Cheek not taking a grobag to hospital, though we will progress to using them at home. My reasons are that it's easier to change hospital sheet/blanket if they get sick/poo/peed on, baby has to be a certain wight/size for bag to be safely used (so their head can't slip down below the neckline) and I won't know if they will be born big enough so it's easier to wait and see and normal 2.5 tog bags are supposed to be used in rooms 16-20 degrees and hospital delivery units/postnatal wards are often c. 22 deg, so it's easier to adjust baby's temp with layers than a bag. Mws will definitely guide ou on baby clothes/ayers if you ask - don't worry!! Also, you'll suss it all out very quickly. One thing I found v useful in the early days with dc1 was a little room thermometer and the guide in the NHS booklets (i think) though grobag do one too iirc, of layers at each temp like this or this Smile

Cheeseandbread · 29/06/2013 05:29

Congratulations Mktastic Flowers

Re grow bags I've bought one from ikea but am not going to take it with me to the hospital. Mightbe I like your plan of being guided by the midwives and tfsnks for the links.

The last couple of evenings bean has been quite restless with big kicks in my ribs and pains down below (head moving down...?) has anyone else been noticing movements/feelings like this?

Icing it all sounds promising for you... Send some vibes this way. I really want to meet bean now!

37 weeks today

SlouchingPanda · 29/06/2013 05:49

Morning all, and congratulations to NPK, McKTastic and Ginger. I am joining the wide awake club as desperately uncomfortable after a bad case of 'eyes bigger than belly' syndrome and let's face it, the belly is pretty big at a friend's for dinner last night. Still, got a load of washing on and started to bake some bread, so time well spent.

Icing hope that your niggles either settle down or get going good and proper. Stop-start early labour stuff must be so annoying!

I had my work progress review and all was much better than expected, so I'm glad I went after all. In fact they were super-nice and I was told in no uncertain terms to forget all about work now and concentrate first on relaxing and then being a mother Grin.

Today's task is finally packing the hospital bag and trying to whittle down the name longlists. Currently stand at 32 for a boy and 44 for a girl. I may be some time Wink...

38+2

Persuasion · 29/06/2013 05:53

Congratulations Ginger OhGood and McKTastic!

I'm joining the awake club. Have been up 5 times to pee so far, had 4 contractions in half an hour and now they've all stopped but it's woken me up. I've moved to the spare room and the cat can't believe his luck, I'm being cuddled to death!

Re growbags I have a 1tog and a 2.5tog but wasn't going to take them to hospital, I assume the midwives will help with sheets etc to begin with.

Right. Off to listen to natal hypnotherapy in the hope of falling back asleep...

Thinkingof4 · 29/06/2013 05:56

Congratulations mcktastic another one determined to be early! Your water birth sounds lovely!

Another one in the 4am club here, been trying to get back to sleep for hours but dh's snoring has driven me out of bed. Looks like a nice day ahead so will try to go for a walk with dh and the boys. Curry doesn't appear to have done anything but was bloody tasty so I'm not complaining! May have to get another one next weekend if still no baby. Like vinegar I'm now 39+4 and the idea of being pregnant for potentially another 2 weeks would make me weep! I'm starting on pineapple next week!!

dinkystinky · 29/06/2013 06:43

Morning all and huge congrats Mctastic! Sounds like a lovely birth and hope all well with you and your little boy. Let me know his weight and will pop it on the outies list!

Vinegar, Thinking and the rest of the wide awake club - hope you managed to get some sleep in.

Slouching - glad your review went well and you can now relax! Am amazed you have so many names you both like on your list - we are still struggling to agree on names here.

Cheek - as with the others, am not taking a group bag to hospital. I tend to swaddle for the first couple of months any way which is super easy to do with a hospital sheet/blanket.

OP posts:
TotallyEggFlipped · 29/06/2013 06:54

Congratulations McKTastic!

I'm another one for the 4am club. Woke at 3:30 crying, but no idea why - just knew I felt incredibly sad. Confused. Can't remember any dream I might have been having. Couldn't get back to sleep until just before DD ran in at 5 to tell us "it's still night time, I'm awake". Don't think the gro clock is working!

Enjoy your fresh baked bread, Slouching. I bet the Panda house smells divine this morning.

IcingTheCake · 29/06/2013 07:26

All you 4am-ers (or earlier Shock) hope you get some rest today! I've been up since 3, had a while when i genuinely though this is it and then it all stopped Sad so got up decorated MIL's birthday cake, did some washing, sorted out some cupboard space and now im going to go back to bed, as my OH has just got up to get ready for work Grin

Hope today brings relaxation and labour vibes to those who need it! Smile

37 weeks - finally full term GrinGrinGrin

VinegarDrinker · 29/06/2013 09:41

Totally re the gro-clock, we have a rule that he has to play in his room until the sun comes up. We remind him of that via the 2-way monitor if he's calling out to us. He has some quiet-ish toys and books in his room. Seems to work quite well (we've had it about 3 months). Luckily he can't open his door yet...

Thinkingof4 · 29/06/2013 10:09

Went back to bed at 7 when boys got up. May have been slightly short to dh re his snoring (which didn't wake me up but didn't help me get back to sleep iyswim. Anyway got back up at 9.30ish to discover he has cleaned kitchen, bathrooms, and is now hoovering upstairs...I think I'll have to be extra nice to him for rest of today.
Anyway still time for a walk before lunch so I'll jump in shower now. Decided to have healthy breakfast to make up for last nights curry so just polished off small tub of fresh pineapple, a smoothie, some strawberries and Greek yog plus a croissant warm with jam and a cup of tea. My good intentions failed a bit towards the end!!
Enjoy your day everyone, for those down south don't forget your suncream!

PhieEl06 · 29/06/2013 10:14

Silver hehe it all begins properly now!

Cheek I plan on using gro bags but not taking into hospital as hopefully planning on learning how to use sheets & blankets properly from the midwives!

Vinegar sending belated sympathies for your insomniac night, fortunately I actually slept all night through last night.

McKTastic congratulations!! Smile

Hehe Icing I'm very jealous of your labour twinges, NOTHING is happening for me... At this rate I will be having an August baby!

Thanks for the links MightBe, very interesting reading as very worried about baby temp!

Slouching jealous of the bread baking, I bet that smelt delicious! Glad your review went well but thinking at 38+2 your brave not having hospital bags packed yet! or is that just my major OCD?

Persuasion the cat cuddling sounds super cute! Hope you managed to get back to sleep.

Thinking I'm only 37 weeks the thought of potentially being pregnant for another 5 weeks makes me want to bang my head against a wall!

Looking forward to the warm weather today! & like icing YAY 37 weeks!! Finally full term!

SundaySunshine · 29/06/2013 10:15

Wow loads to catch up on!

Congrats to Ginger and McKT enjoy your new baby snuggles I'm not jealous at all

Slouching glad your review went well, now you can relax and focus on being a mum very soon Grin

cheek I agree with others, you probably don't need the grow bag in the hospital . But don't be affraid to ask for help with the sheets etc. with DD I was completely clueless, I had no idea how to dress her or change her nappy or when, or how many times she needed to be fed. It was a very sharp learning curve, but by the next morning I was an expert Smile

icing congrat on reaching term, feels good doesn't it, now the waiting begins! Hopefully not too long for you though as looks like you're getting some positive signs? What hospital are you going to? I'm going to DVH just off M25, but I have to get over the Darford Bridge which is always a nightmare for jams, fingers crossed for a night time labour here too!

Hope everyone else is ok, my brain can't retain any more info, so sorry if I've missed anyone out!

photographerlady · 29/06/2013 11:19

So please send me no labour vibes this weekend. Talked the DH into flying to Iceland for work tomorrow. He will be back around 2am on Tuesday so super quick trip but with my luck I am hoping just for two days to not go into labour :p

growbags topic I plan on taking a blankie and also a summertime swaddleme blanket to hospital.

Congrats to Ginger and McKT

Slouching congrats on review

icing yay term ;)
