Sashabella0 · 07/07/2013 18:19

I need a bit of advice please. I sneezed at about 1pm and heard a click half way down the right side of my back. I had 1g paracetamol which hasn't really done much. It's painful if I move or walk on it. Any suggestions??

Thanks

dinkystinky · 07/07/2013 18:22

Ooh Sashabella - sounds painful! Hopefully one of the stealth medics on here can advise but if it were me, I'd be heading to A&E to be checked out to find out what the issue is and if there isn anything I should be doing to help mobilise the area.

princessllama · 07/07/2013 18:31

Hi sashabella, as the resident osteopath on the thread, i highly recommend you find a good osteopath- they will manipulate your neck probably and will be instant pain relief- if i'm right, sounds like a facet lock. Nothing to worry about just painful. It should take a week otherwise and then will be fine

Sashabella0 · 07/07/2013 18:52

Thanks Dinky and Princess. Will see how I'm feeing tomorrow. Osteopath sounds like a good option. Looks like I'll have to give pregnancy Pilates a miss.

scoutfinch1 · 07/07/2013 19:02

Congratulations Sunday and Citizen!

Welcome pocopearl

Esme I hope your MIL did give him hell. You should have pointed at his belly/ bald patch/ other insecurity and laughed right back at him.

Sounds like you had a lovely afternoon Dinky

Bit disappointed that the excitement of Murray match hasn't triggered labour. I was getting hopeful visions of my waters breaking as he lifted the trophy. Sadly not.

dinkystinky · 07/07/2013 20:31

Looks like Calm had a baby boy this morning - announced on fb - and in good time to watch the Murray match!

OP posts:
VinegarDrinker · 07/07/2013 21:34

What are the other newborns wearing overnight in this heat? Our room is 27 degrees at the moment.... Just a nappy? Short sleeved vest?

PhieEl06 · 07/07/2013 22:22

Congratulations Citizen! Hehe to cutting it fine, glad you made it to the hospital okay & yay for no tears or haemorrhages!

Persuasion that's a great way to think about it I guess, thank you.

I hope your cold clears up soon Georgie & you manage to feel better, I know I hate feeling stuffy in warm weather & lovely comment from MIL!

Thanks BB01 I suppose getting to meet your baby at the end of it is a big plus! Making sure I'm surrounded with positive people!

Yay for DD's birth weight Totally, great to hear all is well!

Hi pocopearl! Smile

Sasha no tips but hope you're feeling pain free soon & if not get yourself checked out by GP or other HCP! Flowers

Congratulations to Calm if you're reading! What a day to be born... Wimbledon & Andy Murray wooo! Tennis I was on edge!

Intrigued in responses to Vinegar, very worried/thinking a lot about this!

I have been bouncing on my birthing ball for hours, I don't think it's doing anything! Sad I just want her out NOW!!

Hope everyone else is well!

evelynj · 07/07/2013 22:26

Congrats to calm, so many babies & less than a third of the way through July!

Ah, the tennis was good. I have chalk painted the bedside drawers-not sure about how it looks at the mo-need to go get some wax to go on it tomorrow & pit that over it apparently so we'll see after that.

Don't know what is with these husbands-mine just sighed & said, 'ah next weekend we'll have to get this house sorted, it's a bit of a state...'

Wtf? Of course it's a state, as always but there are still renovations going on & why would you wait until the weekend to sort it when we're having a elcs on the Monday if we make it that far? He seems to think there's no way anything is going to happen before the scheduled time & in no rush for anything.

And breathe.....this baby is doing so much somersaulting at the mo, it's doing my head in.

Hoping everyone has as good a nights sleep as last night.....

37+6

IcingTheCake · 07/07/2013 22:31

Aw evelyn i would have glared such daggers at my OH if he'd said that Grin

vinegar i was discussing this with my mum earlier, me and OH are gonna put her in a vest and sheet and see what her temp is like and adjust from there but I reckon just a vest or nappy should be fine tbh!

Sorry no more personals, on phone and memory of a goldfish! Went over some pretty rigorous speed bumps today! Lively little baby too but no signs as of yet, everything has fizzled out! Hmm Shame, but oh well! 4 weeks absolute max now, hopefully 13 days or less! SmileSmile

Beginningofthejourney · 07/07/2013 22:44

vinegar theo is in an all in one with short arms and legs, no vest (if that makes sense), going to put a muslin over him if needed. Hoping he stays in his Moses basket tonight or we will both be too hot!
Congratulations on all the new arrivals!
Hope everyone gets a good nights sleep

dinkystinky · 08/07/2013 02:37

Dinky stinky no 3, another ds, born at 11.34 last night after super quick birth - around 3 and a half hours from start to finish - almost gave birth en route and no time for me check or to get in the pool when I arrived!

OP posts:
VinegarDrinker · 08/07/2013 02:42

Congratulations dinky and welcome baby boy!

Silver15 · 08/07/2013 03:13

Congulaturations to the new arrivals.

Not much going on here. Just waiting for little one. Was woken up by DCs as they needed a drink. They have gone back to sleep. I'm now watching bbc news.

McKTastic · 08/07/2013 04:57

Well Done Dinky! Congratulations to all the other new 'outies' too Grin

Here's hoping the weather today is as good as yest (although I don't envy you 'innies' in this heat Sad) We're off to registrar M's birth this a/noon & are hoping to christen our new double buggy if the sun's out.

cheekbyjowl · 08/07/2013 04:58

many congratulations dinky. that was an accommodating baby it must've known about your busy weekend and sat tight before racing to the finish line. will it be a baby andy? Wink

blimey it's hot. hope all the little ones got an ok night sleep and the bigger people too.

TotallyEggFlipped · 08/07/2013 05:25

Congratulations, dinky!

MightBeMad · 08/07/2013 05:36

Congrats dinky and other new arrivals!!

IcingTheCake · 08/07/2013 05:59

Congratulations dinky Smile

SlouchingPanda · 08/07/2013 06:22

Congratulations Dinky on the arrival of your speedy son! Hope you are both doing well!

Evelyn, this baby never stops moving either. DH was asking what it was like... I told him to imagine having a shrink-wrapped octopus inside him. His reply? 'That sounds awesome'.

I am enjoying the weather, but have hippopoto-feet and need to sit down a lot. Have a humorous list of jobs planned for today - we'll see how far I get with them.

39+4 today and still absolutely no sign of this child preparing to evacuate. I got excited because my skirt was wet as I got up to go to bed last night... turns out I'd knocked over my glass of water without noticing! Ah well...

Silver15 · 08/07/2013 07:01

Congulatulations Dinky!! You have avoided the paps and all that which accompany a royal birth. Was thinking about yo DS yesterday as I watched Murray. He must be happy with the double celebration.

Slouching I lol at yo glass of water incident. I would like to know how it feels when yo waters spontaneously break as with my first 2 it was done in hospital.

IcingTheCake · 08/07/2013 07:04

Oh no slouching that'd must have been annoying to realise! Smile Lucky you did realise though Grin

38+2

esme80 · 08/07/2013 07:10

Yay baby dinky! Congratulations!

40+5 now. Giving up on ever having this baby. One week left till induction.

Persuasion · 08/07/2013 07:40

Congratulations calm and dinky! There seem to be a lot of quick births on this thread, I hope it stays that way for the rest of us Smile

slouching that is quite funny. I have had similar episodes but because of sweating so much, somewhat less attractive Confused

evelyn sound like you had a productive day. I think some of the DHs are in denial!

esme I'm also 40+5 and likely to be induced next Monday if nothing happens before then. I keep having waves of despair at this baby ever coming out. Had a cry on DH last night which helped a bit, but he's gone to work now so I'm also anxious about everything happening quickly and him not getting here in time! Can't win really!

Have any of the second timers or those with new babies had long latent stages? Since my show Thursday I've had runs of regular mild contractions which last 3-4 hours then peter out. Yesterday's were stronger and carried on a few hours after I went to bed but they never progress anywhere. I guess this is latent stage from what I've read. How much longer can this go on for?!?
