Thinkingof4 · 03/07/2013 14:06

just started on the pineapple, will plan to eat the whole thing today, on 2nd cup of rlt too. Although I'm overdue I feel a lot less anxious today knowing that at least cervix favourable and end is in sight... Will be doing some more bouncing later on while watching the tennis
Like you say runs baby will decide when time is right, positive thinking and not getting too worked up about it all is the way forward I think.
I'm sure there will be more babies in next day or so, it's going to be fine!!

TotallyEggFlipped · 03/07/2013 14:43

Icing/Runs/Thinking and anyone else, stop preparing! Definitely don't stock the freezer ready! Leave the fridge almost empty. Book an ante-natal massage, arrange a babysitter and get a table at the restaurant you've wanted to go to for ages. Don't get your car seat back from the person who borrowed it last month. Don't get the crib from your parents attic yet and don't finish packing your hospital bag! Seriously - it worked for me.

BB01 · 03/07/2013 14:59

Am soooo behind on this thread! Sorry for no name checking. Am trying to catch up on my phone while in the neonatal unit. Many congrats to all those who now have babies and thinking of all those in labour or who are waiting! We're rooming in tonight and maybe tomorrow night with to being home by Friday. It's been two of the toughest weeks of my life but also two of the most precious! Just hoping and praying we manage to properly get the breastfeeding established enough for her to come home!

dinkystinky · 03/07/2013 15:08

Well I'm off to Dalston House exhibit tonight, and our doula is away till 7 July, and is ds1's sports day tomorrow so by your reckoning Totally Bean should be here tonight - rather doubt it though!

BB01 - nice to see you on. The first few weeks are the hardest, especially if you're stuck in hospital, but it does get easier I promise. Rooming in tonight may be tough or may be a dream - whichever way it goes, just cuddle your gorgeous little girl into submission. Keeping everything crossed you and Rosie get to go home on Friday.

Just a quick update from me, Florence has just been weighed and has put on 6oz Smile. Have been feeding every couple of hours, hand expressing and topping her up and it seems to be working. I'm shattered but at least we are not in hospital tonight! Didn't manage to get out for birthday cake but daddy just pleased he has us with him.

See that little Oliver is doing well today. Good news.

MightBeMad · 03/07/2013 15:37

Shelley that's fab news! Well done you!!

Bb01 also lovely to hear from you and hope tonight goes well.

Runs, icing and thinking - keeping everything crossed that things progress for you soon. Keep in mind that a long latent stage can mean a much faster/easier delivery as your body is getting well prepared.

CitizenOscar · 03/07/2013 15:42

Totally - DH says I can't give birth til he's had his braces off on Saturday. Apparently I can't understand how much he wants them off Wink

Hoping the baby comes before then just to spite him (kind of)...

CitizenOscar · 03/07/2013 15:45

PS Shelley - that's fantastic, well done!

TotallyEggFlipped · 03/07/2013 15:47

Great news, shelley! Keep up the good work!

Thinkingof4 · 03/07/2013 15:47

That's fantastic Shelley well done! Hope you are feeling a bit better too

dinky you don't half keep to a busy schedule! I'm just back from the last school/nursery end of term thing (ds2 had a nursery sing-song and 'graduation' thing, v v cute so really glad I didn't miss it)

totally Grin Grin love the advice!!

bb01 hope the rooming in goes well, it is tough but so rewarding too

mightbe thanks, hoping it won't be too long

Currently on ball, eating pineapple and watching tennis. Life is good and baby is bound to be here soon, right??

Persuasion · 03/07/2013 16:03

Gosh this thread is moving fast now!

Shelley weight gain is great even if it is hard work. Are you feeling a bit better in yourself now too?

Congratulations to wifey and china

Totally by that logic I should be on for today as DH had just bought himself a months train ticket and has lost his voice! I do have the fridge stocked though and have finished packing my bag so maybe that counteracts it?

Runs, icing, and thinking I have my fingers crossed for you all, one of you must be next!

I've had my sweep this morning (40 weeks today), apparently baby is very low and LOA which is good. From the numbers she wrote down and with help from Wikipedia I calculated my Bishops score as 7 which I think is pretty good? I've had some period pains and a few random braxton hicks, and also a bit of a'clear out' Blush but still no show so who knows if it'll work. I'm just going to go for a walk into town to try to get things going a bit.

Beginningofthejourney · 03/07/2013 16:04

Wow I never seem to catch up with this thread at the mo, congratulations on the new arrivals, enjoy the next few weeks of 'wasting' hours (days) of gazing at your beautiful babies! It really is the best thing in the world :-)
bb01 I loved rooming in I finally felt like Theo was mine rather than sharing him with the rest of SCBU. I found Theo (and I) finally cracked the breast feeding once we got home and relaxed, he is piling on the weight now! In fact think he is getting ready to wake for another feed now.
When someone next updates the list can you add Theo's dob as 28/05 and his weight was 6lbs 11 (would have been huge if he'd gone to term)
I'm going to have to try to fit in baking banana bread or muffins tomorrow now?
Good luck to all of you waiting for your new arrivals x

Shelley - am delighted Florence is putting on the weight and you're both home for DH's birthday. Keep up the fab work!

Citizen - how is DS doing now?

Thinking - hope the pineapple does the trick for you and Persuasion - hope the stomp to town brings things on for you. I like to keep busy or I get very bored and start eating for Britain which is never a good thing. Operation use up all the overripe bananas continues apace here - made banana and cherry flapjacks with DS2 earlier and they're lovely. Now debating which one (the banana bread or the flapjacks) we keep to eat and which one we give to the sports day cake sale tomorrow... Last few bananas going into a banana, strawberry and mango smoothie later on this afternoon. Yum...

SlouchingPanda · 03/07/2013 16:24

Great news Shelley!

Totally - love your advice Grin. I've just cleaned the oven, clearly a big mistake! I'm seeing my consultant in the morning re. possible unstable lie but have booked a pedicure in the afternoon... Am I thinking along the right lines there? Wink At the very least I should unpack my hospital bag!

BB01 - nice to see you back. Hope you get your gorgeous girl home soon.

I have been researching cloth nappies on the internet, but keep getting distracted by some seriously cute things on the Babipur website. I have been very restrained so far, so one or two little purchases can't hurt...

CitizenOscar · 03/07/2013 16:56

Thanks for asking, dinky. He's not been too bad. Think spots have stopped appearing so hopefully on the way out. Debating whether he'll be able to go to nursery on Friday - expect not even though he's probably less contagious this week than he was last week. He's been pretty cheerful throughout, so could have been much worse!

Beginningofthejourney · 03/07/2013 17:00

Thank you Dinky x

SundaySunshine · 03/07/2013 17:36

Hi BB good luck tonight, hope it goes ok and you get to go home.

Congrats to wifey enjoy your snuggles Smile

I've been eating that rogue pineapple today Grin and furiously bouncing on the ball, but still nothing.

Strange side effect of being pregnant - my ears hurt from sleeping

SundaySunshine · 03/07/2013 17:37

Silly phone

**On my side all the time!!

BB01 · 03/07/2013 18:17

Thank you all :-)
It's going really well as far as I can tell. Just hope her weight will be the same or more tomorrow as she's never been exclusively breastfed for this long before!
Beginning, I totally see what you mean. It is completely different being in the bedroom to being in the nursery with people coming and going all the time. Feel we can properly bond and that it'll be even better once we're home!

MrsRoss26 · 03/07/2013 18:55

Reading through today's posts has really made me Grin this afternoon. So many bf improvements, weight gain (for the babies!) and promising latent stages! Keep it up ladies, and those of you with babies already out definitely keep us updated, as a first timer I'm learning so much Smile

Is anyone else watching Murray and hoping the excitement brings on contractions, not just the hiccups my lo still seems to love inflicting on me?

slouching I bought my reusable nappies on babipur. They have so much cute stuff but I'm trying not to go mad on the splurging, so I can when the little one is here (and we know the gender!) Have fun on there!

McKTastic · 03/07/2013 19:18

Go Murray! Grin Go! Grin

Welcome to all the new babbas Grin

Have fallen back to lurking again but loving the chat. Life is good here Grin

Silver15 · 03/07/2013 19:31

Just been watching Andy Murray. That was a match, coming from 2 sets down. Switched channels at some point as I was not sure all the pressure I was under was good for bean. Managed to catchup in 4 set though.

Will now catchup with the thread.

Thinkingof4 · 03/07/2013 19:35

Aaah been trying to keep calm but the tennis was sooo exciting!! I'll never have the baby today now!!

Sunday I've been getting a sore ear too!!! Presumed it was just me, it's a pretty bizarre pregnancy symptom to get- only on the left though because I'm mostly sleeping on that side. Grin

mrsross I agree, it's been a good day on here, really delighted to see shiv's most recent post on Oliver's improvements
