March 2014?

Teddybear4 · 24/06/2013 13:43

Hi

Is there an antenatal thread for March 2013?

If not, can I start one? I've just found out Im expecting our third (and final!!) baby, due 4 March.

Fingers crossed tightly for a smooth ride (I had early bleeds with both my previous pregnancies).

Anyone else out there yet?

On my phone - I am such a klutz. Try again!

Hi to all the newbies, congratulations! waves

mortified I second what others have said about symptoms coming and going at this point. It's completely normal, and some women just don't have any symptoms for the first month or two. No harm in getting checked out though if you're worried.

AFM, I had the worst time getting DS to sleep last night. I usually breastfeed him to sleep, but it's getting extremely painful and I'm worried it's now affecting him because he just couldn't settle at all. There was lots of screaming (totally unlike him) and we all ended up being awake till after midnight Hmm

I had planned on continuing to breastfeed and then tandeming with the new baby, as I really would prefer DS to self wean. Starting to feel a bit pessimistic about it now though, and everywhere I turn at the moment I keep hearing stories about how hard it is to tandem breastfeed.

I would love to hear from anyone who has breastfed through pregnancy before, or who is doing so this time. Anyone else here?

Teddybear4 · 06/07/2013 07:53

Waves frantically....

Nice to see you all and welcome to the newbies.

Apologies for my silence - life has overtaken in the form of a kitchen remodelling. Combine that with two Duracell kids and a part time job, I've not much left to give. And number three is a good idea because....?!

Will add myself to the list later when on laptop.

Concerned about my general "feeling ok-ness". Am waiting for the overwhelming exhaustion and proper nausea to start but its not happening. We have a private early scan booked for 24 July as there is no chance I'll keep it hidden much longer (and I have twin fear...).

I don't have any experience of Tandem Feeding but there is a book - I think called Adventures in Tandem Feeding. I know it is meant to be helpful.

Right, back to the chaos...

Hello! Congratulations everyone. I've added myself to the list and I think I fill the 13th gap, if I'm right about when I ov'd.

I have all the symptoms I expected, sore boobs, nausea, tiredness, intolerance, extremely thirsty and ridiculously fast growing nails. I'm feeling nervous as I had hyperemesis in my last pregnancy and I'm scared of feeling like that again and having to leave DS to go into hospital.

I've been doing ics every day and the line is getting darker. Also going to do a digi today and again in a few days. I've had a mc and a cp before, so I'm really paranoid.

You know you get paid time off for antenatal appointments? Even things like pregnancy yoga?! I used to wind my last head up my telling him I was going to pregnancy pilates and that I was entitled to a room to rest so please organise this immediately. (I wouldn't crack a joke to my current head, she'd probably sack me).

MortifiedAdams · 06/07/2013 09:22

Anyone else having lots of very vivid dreams? Last nigts was awful - DH given six months to live with cancer Sad and he totally detatched and wanted to separate to 'make it easier' which just made it worse. Then they made up a place for him when he would need to be on permanent bedrest towards the end - on the counter of the local corner shop. Incredibly upsetting.

LittleMachine · 06/07/2013 10:08

Ah mortified that sounds horrible. I have had vivid dreams in my last 2 pregnancies but not this one yet.

HotCrossPun · 06/07/2013 10:42

Mortified Last night I had a dream that a mad woman was coming to kill DP. Luckily Prince Harry was around to lend me his gun so I could defend him.

Your dream sounds horrible, let's hope this particular symptom doesn't last long!

HotCrossPun · 06/07/2013 10:47

How long are you all waiting to tell people?

DP is nagging at me for an exact date, he wants to put a reminder in his phone Grin

I've given a provisional date of 1st of August (I'll be 8+6)

MortifiedAdams · 06/07/2013 11:09

Grin hot

We are going for the last week of august. my dsis lives away and will be home that week, and would like to tell her first.

HotCrossPun · 06/07/2013 11:13

So you'll be just over 3 months pregnant by then?

Right, I'm going to try and wait longer too. I'm such a blabbermouth though, I want to tell everyone!

Souredstones · 06/07/2013 11:36

I don't think I'm going to be able to keep it hidden too long. I've just spent 15 mins violently throwing up. Luckily my dc aren't in the house so no need to explain it. I hope this doesn't set the tone for the pregnancy. I've always got sick but never this bad. My mum had hyperemisis with her pregnancies and apparently there is a genetic predisposition to it.

Touching wood it eases off.

I feel rough.

I'm only 4 1/2 weeks along!!!

Lottie345 · 06/07/2013 11:38

mortified and hotcrosspun ive had some weird dreams too. Wish prince harry had been in mine. I'm a massive lie in fan and been waking up ridiculously early every day. Shattered now. Massive hunger though this is pretty normal for me has waned and I just don't fancy anything. That could be the heat though!

We told my parents yesterday and DH's this morning - one pair expecting it and the other totally shocked. But we're keeping schtum til after 12w scan with everyone else. Hard when all you want to do is yell "don't you know what I've got going on in my uterus right now"!!

Lottie345 · 06/07/2013 11:40

Oh and teddybear4 I also have twin fear!! Is it very expensive to do a private scan?

LittleMachine · 06/07/2013 11:44

Argh, soured poor you, I can sympathise. Hope you feel better.

Last time we told our parents and siblings straight away, and I told work straight away as I was so sick.

This time I've told my TA in work as I can't do any lifting, which we have to when we're setting up etc. I've also told a couple of very close friends. We haven't told our parents yet. My brother and SIL are on their 2ww from IVF so I'm waiting to hear their results and then I'll decide how to do it sensitively.

LittleMachine · 06/07/2013 11:45

Lottie I'm getting a private scan at 7 weeks, it is £55.

Confitdecanard · 06/07/2013 11:48

Ontherun I'm still breastfeeding too. Only once a day. Not sure how I feel about tandem feeding though. I'm hoping DS will wean during pregnancy. He is 2.6 and I went away for a week with work - I thought it would be the end but he was straight back on as soon as I got back. Going to play it by ear, not sure I have the energy for weaning at the moment! How old is your DC?

LittleMachine · 06/07/2013 12:05

I have now POAS 7 times Confused I can probably stop now I've done my digi Grin

CaptainCalamari · 06/07/2013 12:32

Hi all can I join the gang? Got my BFP a few days ago and its starting to sink in. No symptoms though and line doesn't seem to be getting any darker on ICs... can't remember from DS whether the cheapy tests ever get properly dark?

Anyway, this is me...

Age: 34
DC: DS, aged 3.1
EDD: 13th March

Hope everyone is feeling OK in this hot weather!

HotCrossPun · 06/07/2013 13:17

Loving your name Captain!

Welcome on board Grin

I did another cheap test a few days ago and it doesn't look that different from my previous BFP so I wouldn't worry.

How are you feeling so far? I wish time would just speed up past this nerve racking stage!

MortifiedAdams · 06/07/2013 13:20

Sighhhhhh........March is just so far away!

startwig1982 · 06/07/2013 14:14

Hi have recently POAS and am due roughly 9th march with dc2. I'm very excited and a little scared. I've got to make an appointment with the gp yet but that'll be this week hopefully.

CaptainCalamari · 06/07/2013 14:20

Thanks Hot that's reassuring! I got a "2-3" on my clearblue conception indicator which is right, so hopefully that's a good sign! I'm feeling worryingly fine, a few stretching pains the day I got BFP, now nothing. With DS I was lucky not to get any morning sickness, so maybe this time round will be the same. Yeah it's nerve wracking though... think I'll sign up for an early scan again for 7-8 weeks - gives me something to aim for that doesn't seem as far away as next March!

We'll probably tell family earlier this time round, last time waited until after scan, but a few people in the family know we're trying this time round so I'll probably crack under the interrogation! Also am likely to need childcare for appointments, and would want close family to know if anything went wrong, so not much point keeping quiet. Maybe in a week or two though, not quite ready to share just yet! Thank God for Mumsnet to share our secrets with Grin

OnTheRunFromTheAcademe · 06/07/2013 16:43

Thanks confit glad to know I'm not alone!

DS is 15 months, and definitely nowhere close to weaning - he's still a major boob monster! It was one of the reasons I had wanted to wait a while longer before getting pregnant again, but the best laid plans and all that... Oh well, we'll make the best of it anyway.

Wuxiapian · 06/07/2013 18:24

It's way too hot for me! Thankfully, I'll be heavily pregnant through the winter!

IceNoSlice, I may be high risk. Not sure yet. With DS1 I haemmoraged badly, so with DS2 I was CLC. During second pregnancy I had a threatened per-term labour at 28 weeks, so I could be high risk again.

We're going to wait until after 12 weeks scan before we spread the news! Seems like forever away...
