March 2014?

Teddybear4 · 24/06/2013 13:43

Hi

Is there an antenatal thread for March 2013?

If not, can I start one? I've just found out Im expecting our third (and final!!) baby, due 4 March.

Fingers crossed tightly for a smooth ride (I had early bleeds with both my previous pregnancies).

Anyone else out there yet?

It's getting quite busy in here isn't it?

Has anybody done a head count?

Let's all meet when we are 6 months or so. How funny would it be so see 50 huge pregnant woman all descend on an unsuspecting coffee shop Grin

mickstery · 17/07/2013 12:28

haha juicy i don't doubt you are at all - it wasn't meant to be nasty and i'm not personally offended in any way but i can see how some people might take it that way!

Coolhand · 17/07/2013 12:29

I don't know what to do this time round. I'd always said I wouldn't find out in any pregnancies and we didn't last time; there were very few on my thread who didn't before so it's interesting to see lots on here who are intending to keep it a surprise.

My birth was so strange last time - my birth plan was c-section only as very last resort and I went from 5cm dilated arriving in hospital, to being in theatre within the hour. The midwife thinks I went into shock - I couldn't produce any milk at all after DS was born (talk about feeling like a failure) and I felt completely disassociated from the birth. I remember when they put my DS into hubby's hands and I didn't feel anything - I was just looking at a complete stranger - it was horrible. I really don't want an emcs again but wonder if I knew the sex would it help me bond in advance, in case I had to have emcs again - I guess, the bonding kicked in pretty quickly after anyway so all was fine.

JuicyFatSteak · 17/07/2013 12:34

Well, Mick, every thread needs a harshness monitor so it's a fucking good job you're here, eh? Grin

JuicyFatSteak · 17/07/2013 12:36

Oh, coolhand Sad

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 17/07/2013 13:01

Cool did you get any counselling? It is possible to apply for your labour notes and be talked through them by a midwife or Dr in order to give you a clearer understanding of what went on and what went wrong. This could well give you a head start for this time. If you think it will help, definitely find out the sex. {{{hug}}}

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 17/07/2013 13:07

I have just had a call from the midwife. Booking appointment is on 5 August. Smile
The milestones are coming thick and fast. Because of the worry of another MC I am breaking the PG down into manageable bites. Reassurance scan on Tuesday. 29 july is the stage I MC last time, so pass that and I can breathe a bit. Booking on the 5th. 12 weeks on 3 September, 20 weeks on 29 October.
In between those dates Ill be keeping VERY busy! Grin

JBrd · 17/07/2013 13:15

Cool I second juicy's suggestion to ask your hospital to sit down with you and go through your labour and birth notes. I did this after DS's birth, which what also very traumatic (problematic induction, emcs, huge blood loss, more complications afterwards etc.), and I found it immensely useful to get clarity and -in some respects- closure. It's not easy (lots of boxes of tissues in the room that my hospital has these appointments in), but it can really help.
And you could maybe ask your mw if finding out the sex could help with bonding.

Hi Lyra, welcome to the thread - there are quite a few other oldies here, you've got company (I'm 41, too). And there is a 40+ mums-to-be thread in the pregnancy section.

Right, I think we need a stats list! Shall I make a start? Do add yourselves.

We had a stats list a few pages back, someone sorted it all into due date order so may be worth adding to that one again?

Just thinking it would be easier to carry that list on rather than starting a new one. :)

sazzababs · 17/07/2013 14:59

I started bleeding a wee bit this morning so I buggered off home from work... Called the EPU and seems like it's implantation bleeding... Thought that was done with in the 2 week wait lol... Just gonna take it easy the next few days and have a husband-slave XD

Juicy you sound like a poster from many moons ago, yer not Gail's Chin are ye? I have no time for 'baby dust' shite or all that flim-flam so I for one don't find ye offensive lol, tho I suppose I could understand some peeps having ishoos with the realniss of your posts ;D

sazzababs · 17/07/2013 15:00

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 17/07/2013 15:08

Just to say I've started bleeding this afternoon. EPU can't fit me in until Friday - great. Only positive is there is no pain at the moment. Please send positive thoughts.

JuicyFatSteak · 17/07/2013 15:18

Frank, that's rough, I'm so sorry. Nothing will stop the worry and making you wait til Friday is torturous. If I were you I would wait a few hours then ring them back saying you're in agony with cramps. They'll have you in immediately. I'll be thinking of you because the sight of blood is horrible (but is usually totally innocuous, I promise) x

rosyryan · 17/07/2013 15:26

Oh Frank. There are so many stories of bleeding meaning nothing bad in early pregnancy - I had it myself with DD at around the stage you are now - but until you see the little bean on screen I know that words don't mean much. I have everything crossed for you.

Rockchick1984 · 17/07/2013 15:29

Frank hoping its nothing to worry about - how heavy is the bleeding? No cramps is a good sign!

sazzababs · 17/07/2013 15:36

I've been the same today Frank, also just passed a teeny clot... Nowt to do but sit it out :/

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 17/07/2013 16:21

Fingers crossed for Frank and Sazza*.

HotCrossPun · 17/07/2013 16:26

Oh Frank and sazzababs, Sad

Thinking positive thoughts for you both and hope that it's all innocent. If you don't have any pain then that's a good sign. Hope it stops soon.

x
