March 2014?

Teddybear4 · 24/06/2013 13:43

Hi

Is there an antenatal thread for March 2013?

If not, can I start one? I've just found out Im expecting our third (and final!!) baby, due 4 March.

Fingers crossed tightly for a smooth ride (I had early bleeds with both my previous pregnancies).

Anyone else out there yet?

Blimey, mimi, your DH should have told them to mind their own frigging business.

Yes, Rugby, I spotted brown sludge for three days last week (only when I wiped) but the the morning of my six week scan on Friday I wiped actual blood. No cramps though. I still thought it was all over until I saw that wonderful heartbeat and little monkey nut. Because this is an IVF baby I'm on all kinds of drugs, injections and pessaries until the twelfth week of pregnancy. The nurse told me the pessaries can really aggravate the cervix and I'm shoving three up a day so I'm hoping the spotting is something to do with them.

RugbyWidow7 · 16/07/2013 19:59

Oh everything crossed for you juicy that it's the effect of all the drugs and will settle down again.

Mimili I cannot believe your work colleagues did that! How would they guess?! So wrong

maybemyrtle · 16/07/2013 20:00

charley23 snap! I'm doing the clearblue tests weekly too. This Friday it should show 3+. Also going for a private scan at 8-9 weeks (only 5 and a bit here at the moment and no real symptoms). Grin

TotalShock · 16/07/2013 20:06

saggy I remember you from September group, I had a mmc in feb but am now 6 weeks (hopefully)

I have been pushed around from pillar to post today asking if there was a possibility of an early scan. MW said I had to see doc. Doc said I had to call MW. MW said def not, talk to doctor but put me through to epau They basically said no way. Then called doctor again having upset myself, he said he would write a letter for me but because I hadn't had my booking appointment ( no idea when it's going to be) they wouldn't have anything to link the letter to. So we'll see.

Plus I feel so sick all the time and only eating seems to help and I'm already really overweight so think I will be the size of a bus..

Hope everyone else is ok x

toasterstrudel · 16/07/2013 20:09

maybe - those indicators and their accuracy is a bit controversial don't panic if it doesn't go up to 3+!!

mimili · 16/07/2013 20:15

Thanks ladies. Didn't think I was I overreacting.

To be clear. None of these are my bosses, direct or otherwise. Or his either, apart from the one who passed on the gossip.

The problem is as I don't want work to know yet there is nothing I can really do. Not for 6/7 weeks at least!

Sounds though hubby was quite good about it though. Glib comment about buying me a new dress to replace the one making me look pregnant and then back to work chat!! Sounds bad written down but isnt Grin

Grrr. The politics of it all. You don't tell people you want to tell and people you don't want knowing find out or stick their oar in.

Hope everyone else is having a good evening. I'm gorging on carbs Grin Wink !

Beccadugs · 16/07/2013 21:03

Oh how frustrating mimili!

I know that my group of friends have a don't ask if pregnancy pact! As we're all at that sort of stage...

However at work, people have been doing all sorts of hinting and it is very annoying. I know it's fairly obvious as I have been vomming every hour, but I just feel its so rude to ask, it's mine to tell.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/07/2013 21:13

Firstly, before anyone panics, ClearBlue Digitals can be up to 10 days out. Confused
I did 12 tests last PG, is that a record? Sadly in hindsight, I think this was because I knew something was wrong. Ive done one this time, that's all.
Whoever asked, I definitely was sicker with DD than DS. I was never actually sick, but on the brink many many times!
I saw my GP yesterday. She was bloody lovely and hugged me! Grin she was with me through the MC. She rang the EPAU and got me an early scan appointment for next Tuesday (6 weeks). The system round here seems very good. My local EPAU are bloody lovely!!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/07/2013 21:14

Im glad to see you here. x

Coolhand · 16/07/2013 21:15

I totally agree Becca - my friend was round yesterday - she knows I was ttc #2 - she made a couple of statements clearly trying to move the conversation that way but just backed off when she got nothing from me.

In the workplace, it's just not right. Especially because the first tri is so fragile.

Hope JFS it's the pessaries and nothing else. At least it happened before scan and everything was fine. Still a worry you don't need though.

I feel awful and don't remember feeling this bad last time. I too was wondering about the girl thing rugby as only have a DS. It's a long way off but anyone not planning to find out the sex? I didn't last time round and loved the surprise - this time though might be tempted to find out then not tell anyone.

JuicyFatSteak · 16/07/2013 21:21

I'm not going to find out the sex. This will be my one and only child and I want it to be a surprise but I really want a boy

Teddybear4 · 16/07/2013 21:23

I've told far too many people. The worst thing is, they've not even asked, I just need to unburden myself!! They're not even really good friends.

Anyone else doing stupid stuff? I've forgotten to lock the rabbit hutch twice this week. Cue me and DH chasing two rabbits round the garden in a comedy Benny Hill way. Just what I need.

Juicy, I'm also spotting. Just today. I have has it in both my previous (successful) pregnancies but it's still hard not to worry.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/07/2013 21:24

I do NOT want to know the sex! Its all part of the fun!

Teddybear4 · 16/07/2013 21:26

We'll find out the sex... I like knowing - makes it easier to organise (and this time I'll need to negotiate with DD or DS about room sharing).

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/07/2013 21:29

Saying that though, last PG I was convinced that I was carrying a girl. She even had a name! This time, I think its a boy. No proof until delivery, and Ill never know about the last one, but I just have a feeling!

MummyPig24 · 16/07/2013 21:32

I'm so clumsy right now. I also nearly forgot to put the guinea pig away tonight till dh reminded me. I can't remember if I have given in ds consent form for the school trip this week. Pretty sure I have but will need to see reception to confirm.

I would like a surprise. We have a boy and a girl and this is our last baby so I don't want to know really.

Blockette · 16/07/2013 21:34

I want to know the sex, I just couldn't cope with not knowing!

I also want to tell everyone, I can't wait for my BFF to get back from holiday so I can tell her.

Sorry for those of you who are spotting, I hope it stops soon, that must be quite scary.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 16/07/2013 21:37

I'm going to tell my best friend tomorrow. She's one of the few people that knows the problems we've had TTC and I've cried on her shoulder many a time. Plus she knows me too well to know when I'm keeping a secret!

We've agreed that we tell no one else until my scan, unless we have to. I might tell my boss the day before my scan, just in case we get bad news and I need some time off. Positive thinker me!

I've found that carbs are helping defeat the morning all day sickness, so that's a plus.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/07/2013 21:40

I agree with wanting to tell people! I told lots of people before the MC, and have to say, the support was amazing. I wouldn't have not told anyone.
Ive told a few people this time, people who I know I could count on for support, and I know I wont hold out for long! Confused

babybear9 · 16/07/2013 21:43

HI, I've been reading this thread for a couple weeks but too scared something might go wrong to join. But here goes!! PG with first one after TTC for a year so elated to finally be here! Started new job last week. oops! Debating whether to do private scan next week. Had 3 friends has mc at 7 wks so feel paranoid! Currently 6 +5 due Mar 6th.

Beccadugs · 16/07/2013 21:46

I think we probably will find out as we need to do this whole thing on a tight budget and the stuff you can get on eBay is amazing, but quite gender specific!!

OnTheRunFromTheAcademe · 16/07/2013 21:51

We didn't find out the sex with ds and won't this time. It's part of the excitement of the birth for me Smile

This baby will be wearing ds's hand-me-downs regardless of its gender anyway Smile

Sugarlump39 · 16/07/2013 21:54

So had my scan today - EDD 10 march 2014. Cried when I saw bubba and got to hear heartbeat too. Was the most amazing moment ever :)

MortifiedAdams · 16/07/2013 21:58

Sugar did u get an early scan? Or a private one?

LittleMachine · 16/07/2013 22:00

How lovely Sugar Smile

I'm going to find out the sex. I didn't regret finding out with DS. I think I'm having another boy.
