Teddybear4 · 24/06/2013 13:43

Hi

Is there an antenatal thread for March 2013?

If not, can I start one? I've just found out Im expecting our third (and final!!) baby, due 4 March.

Fingers crossed tightly for a smooth ride (I had early bleeds with both my previous pregnancies).

Anyone else out there yet?

So today has been much better.... No nausea and no weird stomach cramps/stretchy feeling. Not so tired and couldn't manage my normal weekend lie in. Ok so that all sounds really positive, but now I'm worrying that its all vanished! Why would it all go so quickly? Is something wrong? It's stupid when I was feeling sick yesterday all I wanted was for it to all go away.

Can you tell it's my first!

Coolhand · 13/07/2013 21:45

Thatso sorry to hear that. Happened to me before had DS and conceived again within 2 months, with no problems next time round. Seriously hope it happens for you on honeymoon! Keep taking Vitamin B6.

Coolhand · 13/07/2013 21:50

Welcome to the newbies and congrats Juicy!

The nausea and metallic taste in mouth kicked in today - suppose I've been lucky to avoid until this point; no actual sickness though.

I'm so jealous of people having dates for scans etc - I still haven't been able to make an appnt with GP as it's not an emergency. Their new booking system will be in action on Monday and I can phone for appointment then - I'll be 7 weeks and doubt I'll get my scan by 12 weeks!

mimili · 13/07/2013 22:26

Hi Coolhand. contact your local maternity unit direct (or check on their website) you may be able to self refer. I found out having to the GP, it wasn't necessary and I could have phoned or emailed direct!

MortifiedAdams · 14/07/2013 01:12

Evening all! Just been out for a hen night which included pitchers of cocktails all night so I managed to give the waitress a hint and she supplied me with virgin mojitos all night! Grin Amazing! Went and found her at the end to give her a tip as I would literally turn round and see a new drink for me tucked next to my handbag. Perfect!

MortifiedAdams · 14/07/2013 01:16

firsttime try not ti worry. symptoms come and go so in a few weeks time you could be hugging the toilet bowl!

I had nausea and tiredness for a week or two and am now almost symptom free. No doubt it will all come back soon enough.

stephie101 · 14/07/2013 03:57

Well im up!!!!!! Too hot, cramping, very anxious and just bleughhh.
Just to reassure myself i may book a quick scan tomorrow in between work.
i cant remember what its like being preggers.....is this all normal?

Cramping : over the last 2 days..
possible pee infection
moody
anxious
spots

MummyPig24 · 14/07/2013 07:18

Stephie it's probably a good idea to have a scan and put your mind at rest. Are you finding it hard to sleep?

I'm shattered from about 3pm-8pm and then I perk up and take ages to fall asleep when I go to bed. Then I wake up several times in the night and find it hard to go back to sleep. So annoying! Anyway it's my lay in this morning, lucky me!

Slippersandacuppa · 14/07/2013 08:15

Morning all - please may I join too? We've just found out we're expecting number four (have two DSs, 5 and 3 and a DD who's nearly 2). Mummypig it's my lie in today too and look at us! Why aren't we sleeping? Cat's just come in to ask for his breakfast.

Congratulations to all of you. It is so nice to have somewhere to talk about the whole pg thing when not many people in real life know. We're off on holiday with family next week and I'm wondering how I'm going to avoid suspicion - we all like a glass of wine in the evening. Hmmm, we told them early with the others so might do the same this time. Have you told many people?

Happy, sunny Sunday y'all!

TWinklyLittleStar · 14/07/2013 08:49

Hi slippersandacuppa nice to have you on board. I've only told my husband and sister so far. I'm utterly terrified this pregnancy won't last and telling people seems like getting cocky that it will, if you see what I mean.

I'm pleased it's just me that can't sleep! I did a 14 hour shift yesterday, in the heat outside and mostly on my feet walking. Got home at almost 2 exhausted and here I am wide awake while DH snoozes like a champion. Lucky sod.

rosyryan · 14/07/2013 09:04

I can't sleep either. I found myself giving DH snarly evils in the middle of the night because he was breathing too loudly in my ear. With hindsight the poor man was just breathing Grin

My skin is horrible too Stephie. I look like someone out of a Kevin and Perry sketch.

stephie101 · 14/07/2013 09:20

At 17 and 20 i took my pregnancies for granted, i didnt think about mc ectopic or anything, just sailed through tbh.
after an unplanned pregnancy in 2009 which was ectopic i know how precious this is and also how its not always a given im going to have a bouncing baby in 7 months....im just over anxious, knackered and listening to my body for the first time ever..and even if i have a scan theres no given that its going to be ok.....i really want to enjoy this pregnancy....but my oh my...its taking over every thought already.
sorry guys essay over ;) xx

JK10 · 14/07/2013 09:29

That's so- I'm so sorry to hear that but wish u lots of luck o. Your wedding day and honeymoon. Maybe check back in as we would all love to hear from u.

JK10 · 14/07/2013 09:38

Hi slippers, congrats to u! And to all the other newbies too!

Rosy- u made me chuckle about the breathing too loudly!! My dp is awful and when not loudly breathing he is snoring! I get the right ump and kick him to the other side!! Your so right though only breathing!! Lol! Still annoying though!

Lady flower- I'm into photography, and am looking for a short course. Was it just not really interesting or too tiring? I don't think I'd do a holiday one though

I think cramps, tierdness, moody, bad skin etc can be normal due to change of hormones but if worried do get checked.

Enjoy your day!

HotCrossPun · 14/07/2013 10:32

Mortified That's amazing, what good service!

Do any of your friends know? Or was this a complete covert booze-free night out? Grin

MortifiedAdams · 14/07/2013 10:40

One of the girls knew, in advance, so if needed she could buy me a non-gin and tonic at the bar, but noone else.

Just got to manage the actual.wedding now too.

MummyPig24 · 14/07/2013 11:20

I don't know but I just couldn't sleep! I watched mean girls on DVD and had some toast in bed. I got up about 9 and had a shower. We are having the in laws over for a BBQ later. I prepared the salad, new potatoes and cut up some strawberries. Hardly strenuous! But dh has been good mowing the lawn, sweeping the patio and preparing the chicken. I'm laying on the sofa watching tv, dh has disappeared back outside and the dcs are out there too doing goodness knows what. I'm knackered and feeling sick Sad

rosyryan · 14/07/2013 11:29

I love Mean Girls! Grin I stupidly got rid of it in a decluttering fit and regret it frequently.

toasterstrudel · 14/07/2013 11:32

love mean girls!

mummypig I'm the same at the moment, i sleep until about 4am then get back to sleep by 6 or so and am awake at 8 again! just wide awake!

JuicyFatSteak · 14/07/2013 11:38

I've told everyone already (neighbours, newsagent, deli woman in the village) because they all knew I was going to that there Abroad for IVF.

Can we make a pact that we don't start discussing prams yet? Hmm

MortifiedAdams · 14/07/2013 11:42

I will.joint that pact. We will be reusing dds Maclaren XLR. With the addition of a buggyboard for dd.

I am covetting a Donkey but even if this bump were twins, £1k is aburd.

Rockchick1984 · 14/07/2013 11:48

I'm already mentally pram shopping Blush

In fairness when I had DS I chose based on the one I thought was prettiest and have since had 4 prams trying to get it right based on more than just looks!!

JuicyFatSteak · 14/07/2013 11:51

So that's the end of prams then Smile

TWinklyLittleStar · 14/07/2013 11:57

I won't talk about prams. If DH were on here he wouldn't promise the same - he's already browsing prams, cots, car seats and planning a huge clear out so we can change our spare room into a nursery :)

I feel very queasy this morning and have to leave for work in an hour. Rubbish.

mortified I am very impressed by that waitress!

mummypig Mean Girls is great. Hope your barbeque goes well.

MummyPig24 · 14/07/2013 12:37

Dh has forbidden me from talking about prams! We have a quest for dd which I hate. I want a lovely shiny proper pram/pushchair contraption. But we are poor beyond poor right now so the baby will be travelling in my t shirt if things don't improve before then! (Disclaimer- I'm joking, things aren't that bad!)
