Hi

Is there an antenatal thread for March 2013?

If not, can I start one? I've just found out Im expecting our third (and final!!) baby, due 4 March.

Fingers crossed tightly for a smooth ride (I had early bleeds with both my previous pregnancies).

Anyone else out there yet?

Sorry meant to say I'm sure things will get better, but without money we won't be able to

samsmother · 08/07/2013 22:40

Oops! Be able to pay the mortgages let alone much else! But hey, I'm crying less so that's a good thing. It's my birthday tomorrow my best friend is taking me to a spa day :-)

Cuppy84 · 08/07/2013 22:44

Happy birthday for tomorrow Samsmother, hope you enjoy your day and have some fab unwinding time! Hope everything better from here on for you Thanks

Cuppy84 · 08/07/2013 22:49

Using the pregnancy+ one Icenoslice, at the moment, downloaded a few free ones last week and this seemed the best that I've seen so far

Lambchop14 · 09/07/2013 06:07

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site and would like to join this thread. After getting 4 positive tests I went to the doc and he said I'm 5 weeks so think that means I'm due in March. He didn't do a blood test so I'm anxious about whether its true. First baby so don't know what to expect. When should I hear from a midwife? Also, just realised I need vaccinations for holiday so worried about whether that will affect the baby.

stephie101 · 09/07/2013 06:22

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAMSMOTHER......HAVE AN AMAZNG DAY BEAUTIFUL LADY..and enjoy that spa..much love xx

IceNoSlice · 09/07/2013 07:25

Thanks Cuppy84, I'll have a look. I used the What to Expect one last time but it was too American and kept telling me I would have my next gynaecologist visit soon.

Coolhand · 09/07/2013 07:56

Phew, think I've finally caught up! This thing moves fast - back from my holidays and all good here. If you've children under 5 and dislike built up resorts, love good food and beautiful scenery, would seriously recommend Caserio del Mirador in Spain.

Anyway, Happy Birthday SAMS - hope you have lovely spa day and can switch off from all that's going on.

I'll add myself into stats later when I get on a proper computer. Think I originally thought 6th March but online calculators say 4th - will go with that, though no doubt GP will give me a different date. Speaking of which, phoned GP yesterday and they are not making any appointments as they're updating their computer booking system! Only taking emergency walk ins. Told me to try again next week. Real pain as I can't self-refer - GP does paper work, establishes EDD and refers you on for booking/scan. Last time I did GP appointment at 4 weeks and got scan for 10 weeks. By next week I'll be 7 weeks - know my friend didn't get her first scan appointment until 15 weeks so seriously hope there's not a big waiting time or I may well be looking for a private scan.

Also a bit concerned with lack of symptoms - my little pot belly tummy (with bloating) has gone, I feel great (though am off work so less tired) - only thing I can really report is more tender boobs. Definitely felt more pregnant last time around so not feeling that confident - might do another digi test to see if my dates have moved along.

Enjoy the sunshine today everyone!

Cuppy84 · 09/07/2013 07:57

Hope you find it ok Ice, one thing I liked was you can put in appointments and add lists etc

Cuppy84 · 09/07/2013 08:02

Hi Lambchop, all very new to me too. From calc I'm hopefully due on march 10th, phoned docs and they gave me number for birth centre who took a few details and said they'd send a pack out and call me around August (10 week mark) that's it, feel a bit worried that nothing's been done yet, is this normal?

MortifiedAdams · 09/07/2013 08:21

Cuppy it seems everywhere does it differently. I have to hand in a urine sample today (haha I used my last HPT double checking I was pg!), then have an appt with doc who will then refer me to the MW. Right faff.

Welcome newbies!

Happy Birthday Sam enjoy your Spa!

MummyPig24 · 09/07/2013 08:23

Happy birthday samsmother!

Just phoned the doctors surgery and my booking in appointment is 29 th July when I will be 7/8 weeks. I'm not exactly sure how far along I am now!

Lmp 29th may, 44 day cycle, due date calculators online say conception 28th June and edd 21st march. If I count back it actually puts me at 6 weeks. Is this right?! I thought I was 4 weeks!

Cuppy84 · 09/07/2013 08:28

Thanks MA
Haha, I would do the same! Well I did do another just in case before I called docs even though I'd done enough to sink a ship already that week Grin

marie456 · 09/07/2013 09:31

This morning I'm passing blood with small clots in. Think this is it for me. 8 months of TTC and when its finally happened its gone 1 week afer my bfp. The joy was short lived. Good luck ladies with the rest of your pregnancies. Wishing you a happy and healthy time.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 09/07/2013 09:33

marie I'm sorry Sad You ought to call your l

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 09/07/2013 09:36

Damn it!

Sorry, as I was saying Marie, you should call your local Early Pregnancy Unit to ask for advice. They may want you to come in and get checked out.

MummyPig, the Dr and all the apps will date you from the first day of your last period - so you're actually 2 weeks as soon as you conceive. I'm 6 weeks today, but only ovulated 4 weeks ago!

Samsmother have a lovely birthday and be kind to yourself. You've been through a lot.

MummyPig24 · 09/07/2013 09:44

Marie I'm so sorry to hear that.

I guess I am 6 weeks then. Told the dr receptionist I was 4 weeks. Oops. So my booking appointment will be at 9 weeks. That should be fine. About to tackle Mount Everest aka the ironing. Wish me luck!

CaptainCalamari · 09/07/2013 09:49

Morning all, and happy birthday Sams! Hope Spa day is lovely and relaxing!
Mummypig if you ovulated on 28th you'd be just coming up to 4 weeks, which should tie in with due date (mine's 13th March and I'm 4+5). Going on your LMP would make you six weeks but that doesn't count if you have long cycles. Dr might just calculate it on LMP, but then due date etc would change when you have your first scan. Hope that makes sense!
I'm thinking of ringing GP/ midwife this week to get started with booking apt etc... just wondering, those of you with pre-schoolers, is it OK to bring 3yo to booking appt? To get childcare would have to start telling people I'm preg which I'm not quite ready to do!

CaptainCalamari · 09/07/2013 09:51

So sorry Marie [hugs] hope early pregnancy unit can let you know what's going on xxx

stephie101 · 09/07/2013 09:56

MARIE really sorry to hear this... :-( x

LittleMachine · 09/07/2013 10:04

Marie sorry to hear about your bleeding. It would be worth giving your GP/EPU a call. With my last pg, they brought me in for a scan at 5 and 7 weeks when I had bleeding. I think you need to be sure. Will be thinking of of you Thanks

Mummypig, I have long cycles too. I'm going to tell the mw that my LMP was 2 weeks before I ov'd (need to check the date) so I have my 12 weeks scan at 12 weeks and not too early. Last time they dated me 3 months early because it was so long since my LMP!

Cuppy84 · 09/07/2013 10:12

So sorry Marie! Please contact your epu/ docs, went through the exact same timings as you years back, was just told it was one of those things but you need to see someone about it xx

MortifiedAdams · 09/07/2013 10:25

Sad Marie

IceNoSlice · 09/07/2013 10:45

Sorry Marie Sad

CaptainCalamari I went to the GP this morning and took DS (11mo). Didn't even think twice about taking him. It was fine. So the GP updated the system to say I was pg, came to the same EDD as I had previously and gave me a pack of paperwork including the green notes. The next step is for me to decide which hospital (there are 4 about the same distance away and we moved since I was booked in for DS) and tell the GP and he will refer me for a scan.

Turns out I'm not high risk due to prev ECMS. Must have misunderstood something. But I will need consultant led care, which means some appointments are with a consultant at hospital rather than all with midwives.

Enjoy the sun ladies!

mimili · 09/07/2013 10:51

Marie thinking of you.

I've got my doctors appointment today. Can anyone advise on what to expexpect? I understand they do not test on most occasions.

Has anyone got an idea of what type of questions i should be asking? (i can share the answers generically if anyone needs to know!)
