Hi everyone, hope you had good wkends, I'm looking forward to my holiday next Saturday (although won't be the usual sunbathing with wine flowing!), still can't wait just to relax especially as I'm feeling a bit rough and sick today! Work are piling on the pressure ahead of my hols but who cares, in one week I will be off for two weeks woop!

Just wondered when the really preggers people started to get lightning crotch/cervix pangs? So I can be prepared and not go into cervix panic!

Oh dear. I've just been to my hospital for my bloods & it took me 10 min to find somewhere to park as the car park was full. You also have to pay in advance & have the right money as no change is given or cards taken. WTF?! That's going to be interesting when I'm in labour & DP has thrown me out at the door. . Guess it might deter visitors though which I'm still not keen on the idea of.

Alexandra6 · 20/06/2013 15:47

My hospital is a nightmare for parking too frog (MIL is constantly bringing it up as we chose that hospital over another which is closer with better parking). I've put some cab numbers in my hospital bag so if it's a busy time of day, we might just get a cab if I'm in labour, we'll see. MIL keeps saying I might end up giving birth in the back of a car (it's only a 20 min drive!). Well if it's that speedy, maybe I won't mind! Wink Def agree about the change in the hospital bag.

Alex - you'll never struggle for parking again now I've told you about those two secret streets - they were empty again today! Smile

BraveLilBear · 20/06/2013 16:45

Two things about parking - one, most hospital car parks, in the middle of the night, are next to empty. Two, most babies come in the middle of the night.

The other thing is we heard at our antenatal classes that we can get a month-long ticket to park for a tenner - we just have to go to a special office to get it signed off. There might be something similar there?

Also, our hospital are moderately sympathetic to dads-to-be abandoning parking car right outside, telling security they'll be back in half an hour and then re-parking when mum is somewhere safe.

We're definitely planning future holidays... if/when money allows. When we were in Kos last year there was a German couple with an 16 month old who was fab. They had a great time, and still managed plenty of chill time when he napped in a special kiddie sun-protector tent/cot by the pool. I also think she was pregnant again as her hubby kept rubbing her tummy. Was very sweet Grin

Mother your council sounds ace putting on a mini Glasto! Ours would never do anything like that. They think we should count ourselves lucky that they bother to empty the bins.

Frog and Alex I think that every hospital is shite for parking. In fact it must be one of the prerequisites when building a new one. Ours in no exception despite most of it being newly-built so I could be another one dumped at the door with my bags in labour while DH drives around for hours looking for a space. I have got parking change in my labour bag but keep dipping into it and the high energy snacks.

I am so glad I haven't got a Consultant to argue with, they all sound so infuriating! Angry Janey and Hazle I am glad you are clued up and in a position to argue back with them.

I also have no intention of cutting down on holidays. I just feel a little bit Sad that they won't be the easy, carefree booze-fest that they once were, but we will definitely still be going with baby in tow. We are still planning to go to Florida in October but I have read that the law is changing on 1st September meaning that we can't take DSD out of school during term-time, and we need a few extra days as the week-long half term isn't really long enough to go to Florida. Children can currently have up to 10 days authorised absence during term-time for holidays or whatever. So we're holding off booking anything until this is clarified as nobody seems to know exactly what is going on.

I knew I had spoke too soon when I said I have had an illness-free pregnancy. I've had a dull toothache for a few weeks so I finally went to the Dentist today. He can't see anything wrong with the tooth so he thinks it's an infection and has prescribed antibiotics. I know these are safe to take during pregnancy but with the due date so close I am going to hold off taking them until after the birth and just put up with the toothache.

Purplemonster · 20/06/2013 18:10

Ah yes, change for parking, that's something else I really need to pack into my still empty hospital bag...I really am a bit of a failure at this pregnant lady thing aren't I Grin

HazleNutt · 21/06/2013 08:19

40 weeks and all quiet on the western front. Except all the texts and messages asking if I've had the baby yet. Considering sending this link to my whole mailing list: haveyouhadthatbabyyet.com/

Cavort · 21/06/2013 08:52

Ha Hazle, do people think you are sitting on the sofa with your bag on your lap looking at your watch and wondering what time the first contraction will be? Happy due date day and FX Master Nutt puts in an appearance soon. Grin

Purplemonster · 21/06/2013 09:10

Happy Due Date Hazle!

janey1234 · 21/06/2013 09:12

God, due date already. This is suddenly starting to feel very real!

Am feeling very chirpy this morning. Had the best night's sleep I've had in ages, with only ONE loo trip. Amazing. Feel like a different person today which does make me worry how I will cope with the sleep levels that come with a new baby, am going to be crap!

So hazle, any news? You had the baby yet? WinkWink

MotherOfCleo · 21/06/2013 09:16

Happy Due Date Hazel, hope you're a mummy soon Grin

Alexandra6 · 21/06/2013 09:30

Our first elderberry due date! Happy due date hazle! janey got there first with the "have you had the baby yet" joke hehe Grin

I just got the train a couple of stops an forgot my badge, was funny overhearing two guys talking about whether I was pregnant or not. Probably didn't want to risk offering me the seat in case I just had a belly! Wink

Bless my mum, really excited that she's just bought her first baby presents, I asked her what they are - toddler books Wink hmmm that will be useful for a newborn haha! She's big on education, I was the first one reading in my nursery class (smug)

MotherOfCleo · 21/06/2013 09:46

Haha, it is hard for guys, if they get it wrong they pay for it big time.

I've uploaded a pic of my unimpressive 20 week bump, although I feel like it's finally grown a bit overnight, I am having to sit further from my desk today as I can feel it. Smile

Cavort · 21/06/2013 10:05

That's a nice cute little bump Mother Smile

Alexandra6 · 21/06/2013 10:05

It looks like my bump mother! And Cleo is ridiculously cute!

OP posts:
Alexandra6 · 21/06/2013 10:06

Oh and does your bump get bigger as the day goes on - my bump is always bigger in the evenings! Must be bloating.

OP posts:
MotherOfCleo · 21/06/2013 10:18

Cheers ladies, it feels very small for 20 weeks though? Thought I'd be bigger. Poor bubs looked so cramped at the scan. Even the sonographer said he was bent at some funny angles. Smile I know I should be careful what I wish for! Remind me of me saying I want a bigger bump when I'm huge and uncomfortable. Grin

Yep Alex, after I eat I seem to get bigger, especially when my food baby and actual baby join up, then I just look chubby! Oh and cheers re Cleo , she's my little pickle.

Cavort · 21/06/2013 10:20

Alex my bump still does that now. It is much bigger/more uncomfortable at the end of the day than it is in the mornings.

Purplemonster · 21/06/2013 10:31

Eeeek midwife and student coming to my house to do sweep in next hour - cue frantic tidying up. Oh Christ and I haven't selotaped my dog eaten notes together yet either, aarrgghh! Wish me luck!

MotherOfCleo · 21/06/2013 10:36

Good luck purple thinking of you!

Cavort · 21/06/2013 10:39

Good luck Purple! Just gather everything up and throw it in a cupboard! Grin

Let us know how bad it is how you get on.

Purplemonster · 21/06/2013 10:51

Thanks! Will do!

janey1234 · 21/06/2013 10:51

Good luck purple!! Blimey this really is happening for us all now.

Forget tidying up, midwife will be too busy fiddling with your bits doing her job to notice how tidy the house is.

Hope it goes ok!

Alexandra6 · 21/06/2013 10:53

Good luck purple!

OP posts:
HazleNutt · 21/06/2013 11:07

purple so you might have the first berry baby!

Now do you think my neighbours would think it's weird if I asked to use their trampoline? Grin
