Hi everyone, hope you had good wkends, I'm looking forward to my holiday next Saturday (although won't be the usual sunbathing with wine flowing!), still can't wait just to relax especially as I'm feeling a bit rough and sick today! Work are piling on the pressure ahead of my hols but who cares, in one week I will be off for two weeks woop!

Just wondered when the really preggers people started to get lightning crotch/cervix pangs? So I can be prepared and not go into cervix panic!

What brilliant brilliant news. I have been worrying all day for you and so so pleased you've got a heartbeat going on. Hope the bleeding goes and you can feel reassured about it all. Great to have such positive commentary about your womb too. I am really pleased for you.

MotherOfCleo · 12/07/2013 16:37

Thrilled for you juicy!!!! Such great news! Grin Grin

BraveLilBear · 12/07/2013 16:38

Yay! Fab news Juicy :)

Fingers crossed everything will start calming down so you can enjoy it!

In other news, just seen heatwave forecast for my neck of the woods this weekend. If sods law is real, think I'll be in the labour ward by the end of the weekend... laugh or cry or sweat ?

Alexandra6 · 12/07/2013 17:07

At least you're in good company with the royal baby on it's way! Bet she will have fancy air con set to exactly the right temp! They have air con in normal labour wards though right? They had it in the room I had my 20 week scan the other day, she had it on freezing though brrr!

Cavort · 12/07/2013 17:17

Alex my labour ward is only a few years old so is air conditioned, but they seem to keep it set it to "effin' boilin' almost volcanic" on the dial. Confused They did get me a big fan for the duration of my labour though so it wasn't too bad.

BraveLilBear · 12/07/2013 17:24

Think delivery rooms have to be warm for babies... really feel for Kate. So much pressure on the poor lass. Think she'll beat me tho...

janey1234 · 12/07/2013 17:43

Yes Alex, labour and postnatal wards renowned for being hot hot hot. Something to do with if it's too cold it can startle them into breathing before they're fully out sounds unlikely I know but honestly what they told us at NCT!

Postnatal ward is unbearably hot too. Luckily I blagged a bed by the window, and got my folks to bring me a fan in! Although had miles been with me, not in NICU, I wouldn't have been able to use it apparently....

Alexandra6 · 12/07/2013 17:52

I'm always cold actually and it will be November so don't know why I'm thinking about being too hot! bear hope they give you a fan for labour too or if you've got one and you're driving there, maybe you could get DP to pack it in the car?

I don't feel sorry for Kate one bit - she stole my thunder with her wedding a couple of months before mine and now she's doing the same again, what a cheek Wink I do love all the baby chat off the back of it though and what she'll call it etc, hoping not one of my fave names!

Aw, your chuffed-ness really touched me, girls, thank you so, so much Thanks

Do you want to see the scan photo? It's in my gallery

Quodlibet · 12/07/2013 23:27

Lovely bean you've made there Juicy.

Cavort I love your pic of your dog, he (?) looks like he's trying very hard to do a good job, but still not quite sure what he is meant to be doing...

So I found out that one of my very good friends is up Le duff too, due a month or so after me. Hurrah!

Cavort · 13/07/2013 04:14

Juicy that's one heck of a pretty bubs you are growing there. Grin

Quod he's my special boy (Milo) and he really has been very good since we bought Elodie home, though he doesn't quite know what to make of her. So long as he gets food and walks I think he's happy.

It's great to have a RL pregnancy bud. I had one who was due 12 days ahead of me so we did Antenatal classes, Aqua-natal and loads of baby shopping together so we didn't have to drag our respective OH's along. But I think whichever one of you gives birth first needs to be careful not to scare the other one too much with all the fresh details. Grin

Bunnygirlie · 13/07/2013 09:26

I don't know why I torture myself by keeping an eye on this thread but a few of you have been my MN chums for nearly a year now so I like to see how you all are now and again.

Thrilled to hear all is well juicy

How are the new mums getting on? Hope all remaining bumps are well too!

Alexandra6 · 13/07/2013 09:38

Gorgeous little bean juicy and good to see a pic of you and your hubbie too!

Glad you've got a RL pregnancy bud quod, I'm really glad janey and a couple of other friends are having babies in the same year as me.

DH went out with his friends last night who are nearly all dads and I think they scared him a bit - he's really excited and they were winding him up, telling him he'll never even get to go to the bathroom in peace again and will be covered in poo and pee etc. Men are so mean! Grin

I think they're telling the truth Alex! Last time we have Miles a bath he shat just before we got him out. All the water went bright yellow (baby poo is a lovely thing) so we had to change it all and re-wash him. Just have him another bath, and whilst he didn't poo in the water (yay!Smile) he did a massive poo as soon as we got him out and wrapped him in a lovely clean white towel (arghConfused).
