Hi everyone, hope you had good wkends, I'm looking forward to my holiday next Saturday (although won't be the usual sunbathing with wine flowing!), still can't wait just to relax especially as I'm feeling a bit rough and sick today! Work are piling on the pressure ahead of my hols but who cares, in one week I will be off for two weeks woop!

Just wondered when the really preggers people started to get lightning crotch/cervix pangs? So I can be prepared and not go into cervix panic!

OP posts:

Sickness is back with roaring reassurance Smile

COME ON MURRAY CAVORT!!

Quodlibet · 05/07/2013 14:28

Just got back from 16 wk check - all good, tests fine and we got to hear baby's heart on the Doppler, which I wasn't expecting. She seemed to expect that I would be feeling movement at this stage too.

Cavort · 05/07/2013 15:18

Very quick update between the yawns.

Still pregnant, still contracting every 5 mins and still only 2-3cm dilated Sad Angry

BraveLilBear · 05/07/2013 18:03

Boo to no progress Cavort... least you can watch Murray?

Quod don't worry if you can't yet, it's not usual to feel much before 20 weeks or so with the first. Heartbeat is amazing tho isn't it? :)

Am now home, and officially a lady of leisure (for now at least) didn't cry at all during leaving thing, then found out my mum and sisters sent me some gorgeous flowers with a welcome to your new life card so am blubbing away now.

Need to pull myself together as out for a meal with DP tonight!

Sending love to Cavort, can't imagine how tough this is for you...

Aaargh sorry for double post...

Cavort · 05/07/2013 19:48

Thanks for your kind words guys.

Purple I hope our little lady is as gorgeous as yours, she is beautiful.

Ignore that last post, I am having a baby tonight!! Hurrah! Grin

It's too long a story to write on my phone, so the very very shortened version is that baby's heart rate dropped again following a VE, so they whizzed me straight over from MAU to CLU where I am currently happily dilating on the dreaded drip with the help of a fucking fantastic epidural. Grin

Baby seems fine but they obviously want to evict her tonight as brachicardia can be a sign of the cord being restricted in some way.

I can not even begin to describe the sense of relief at not being in pain any more. I just hope I don't need intervention.

Motherhood here I come.....

Grin
JuicyFatSteak · 05/07/2013 20:24

Yay, Cavort!! Much, much luck, love Thanks

HazleNutt · 05/07/2013 20:45

yay Cavort.

Don't worry too much about interventions, Victor was helped by ventouse as his heart rate dropped just when the head was almost out, and it was no big deal.

janey1234 · 05/07/2013 21:56

Yay cavort yay!! Thinking of you and that it happens as quickly as possible. And god bless epidurals Wink

Everything crossed for you. X

Purplemonster · 05/07/2013 22:28

Yay! So pleased for you and can't wait to see a picture of your little beauty.

janey1234 · 05/07/2013 22:32

I've just added another pic of Miles. And cleverly it's in black and white to hide the fact that he looks like he's spent the last month in Barbados - bloody jaundice!

Purplemonster · 05/07/2013 22:50

Gorgeous Janey!

Quodlibet · 06/07/2013 00:25

Hurrah Cavort! Finally - you sound so relieved. Sending thoughts your way and hoping it all goes really well.

Brave my last post was confusing - I have been having loads of wiggles from about 14 wks but I thought the midwife would be sceptical of this as its more usual to feel movement a bit later on. But her first q was 'so are you feeling movement?' which surprised me a bit!

Cavort · 06/07/2013 02:43

Well baby arrived at 11.57pm and hasn't been off the boob since. This is most unexpected but I am pleased. .. and knackered.

6lb 8oz and probably called Elodie, but will confirm tomorrow and get a picture up.

Had a natural delivery with a bloody fantastic would definitely have one again epidural.

Thanks for all your well wishes in what has been the worst and best week of my life. I will have a proper catch up tomorrow.

janey1234 · 06/07/2013 06:17

Oh cavort massive, massive congratulations. And gorgeous name! (If we'd had a girl she was going to be Elodie or Amelie!).

What a bloody shit week but hopefully all worth it now.

Congratulations! SmileSmileSmileSmile

MotherOfCleo · 06/07/2013 07:16

whoop whoop Cavort!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin finally gets to put down the pompoms Wink

Elodie is a beautiful name!

Glad you finally got to meet the little lady.

Really am so so thrilled for you Grin

Purplemonster · 06/07/2013 07:31

Yaaaaaay!!!!!! Congratulations Cavort!

Quodlibet · 06/07/2013 07:39

Fantastic news! Well done Cavort, beautiful name. You must be over the moon that she is finally here.

Purplemonster · 06/07/2013 08:45

Ah fucksticks, being dragged by my hair to the hospital for a blood transfusion, OH went all caveman on my ass 'too I'll to look after a baby blah blah what If you keel over while I'm at work nag nag'. Need someone to hold my hand, the one that hasn't got a fucking needle stick in it Sad the annoying thing is I know he's right

Cavort · 06/07/2013 09:15

Oh no Purple, not at the hospital of death I hope? Grin Now it's not often I agree with a man but on this occasion it sounds like he is right.

Baby cluster fed from birth to 6am. I really wasn't expecting that! Sore nipples already! Shock

And whose fucking bright idea was it to put 4 bed rooms on postnatal wards? Why on earth would anyone think it is even remotely possible to sleep in a room with 3 other women and 3 other babies?? Angry

Bunnygirlie · 06/07/2013 09:16

Congrats cavort so happy to hear about the safe arrival of another berry baby! x

Is that everyone for now?

CatsCantFlyFast · 06/07/2013 10:27

Congrats Cavort, well done

janey1234 · 06/07/2013 10:47

Miles seems to like cluster feeding through the hours of darkness too. He's happily lying in his moses basket near the window in bright light (good for jaundice) snoozing through DP drilling and doing DIY. Last night he fed 10pm-1am, slept from 1am to 4am, then fed 4am-7am. Lovely. Bless DP, I had managed to express quite a lot of milk so he fed him from four until seven whilst I slept. Feel so much better after some decent sleep! :)

Purple - hope you're doing as you're told, you've got to look after yourself. Nag nag nag....

Cavort - my nipples seem to have reached a new level of soreness. Ouchie.

Juicy - hope the morning sickness is back again today (in a nice way).

JuicyFatSteak · 06/07/2013 11:26

Aw, Cavort, fantastic news! Thanks

Janey, that there baby of yours is scrumptious!

Yes, my symptoms are back and, would you believe, I am actually breathless at times! And backache Hmm surely it's far too early for this, even if it's twins?
