Hi everyone, hope you had good wkends, I'm looking forward to my holiday next Saturday (although won't be the usual sunbathing with wine flowing!), still can't wait just to relax especially as I'm feeling a bit rough and sick today! Work are piling on the pressure ahead of my hols but who cares, in one week I will be off for two weeks woop!

Just wondered when the really preggers people started to get lightning crotch/cervix pangs? So I can be prepared and not go into cervix panic!

Taken the dog for a walk in loads of pain and now I'm down to one every 5/6 mins. Oh please let this be it or I will be throwing myself under a bus tomorrow!! Confused

MotherOfCleo · 04/07/2013 21:23

p.s cavort by 'raging arsehole' apologies, my brother is a builder and I pick up his sayings too easily I meant serious 'ump, rather than someone bring me the immodium Wink

Cavort · 04/07/2013 21:26

Ha Mother I have raging arsehole even when not pg, and I occasionally think I might have married one. Grin

Leaky norks completely normal. I found wearing a crop top to bed stopped it.

MotherOfCleo · 04/07/2013 21:58

ohhh exciting update Cavort, now where did I put those pompoms?!? Wink

I have everything crossed for you that this is eviction time Grin come on bubba, it's time to meet your mumma!

Purplemonster · 04/07/2013 22:31

Holy hell the hospital I gave birth at is on the news for serious medical negligence... Shock

Purplemonster · 05/07/2013 00:26

So they're in deep shit, it's called a 'never' case because they're such a serious breach they should never be allowed to happen...
The real 'you couldn't make this shit up' part? After being gently berated by all of my nearest and dearest all week about how very ill I look and why do I have to be so bloody stubborn and why didn't I just have the blood transfusion....turns out the hospital I was at gave someone THE WRONG BLOOD!!!

Linky just to prove it:

Holy cow Purple, that's scary!

Surely tho if it's already in the news it must have happened ages ago and things should already be 'fixed'?

Exciting news from the Cavort camp... gogo baby Cavort!

Welcome to leaky nirks club Mother. .. tis colostrum and totes normal. I second the crop top call- comfy anda miraculous leak stopper.

My last day at work today and feel strangely gung ho about it. Have loads to do that won't get done but that's cos my boss is an idiot and has kept throwing stuff at me so any handover gaps are her fault as far as I'm concerned.

Had a bit of a meltdown last night tho. My on-off period pains were quite strong on my way home, lower back was very sore and I felt sick and I was very tearful... went into a panic that I was in early labour and freaked out that I wasn't ready to be a mother!

All a bit embarrassing now in the pain free light of day Blush

Purplemonster · 05/07/2013 08:35

Whoop! Congrats on your last day Bear! Last day is a weird thing, I found it really odd to leave but haven't given a flying squirrel about work since.

I've got my fingers crossed for Cavort!

BraveLilBear · 05/07/2013 08:44

Me too on the fingers crossed front!

I do feel very strange Purple, just got on the bus and feel teary cos it's my last day as just Bear the Worker... next time I'll be Bear the Working Mother.

Bloody hormones making me daft

How's little Lucy doing ?

Quodlibet · 05/07/2013 09:05

Hurrah for last days Bear!

Purple any chance of a Lucy pic? Is she feeding any better yet? How are your dogs finding it?

Any update on Cavort? (crosses everything for a sneeze birth in the night).

JuicyFatSteak · 05/07/2013 09:09

Can anybody remember being 5 weeks pregnant? You know how nauseous I have been due to my very high hCG levels, well I haven't felt sick in 36 hours. Do I have anything to worry about? I'm still massively tired with very swollen breasts but I recently read the tiredness is probably down to progesterone pessaries.

Sorry to sound like a worry wart Sad

Purplemonster · 05/07/2013 09:12

Ok I've done a pic for you all. She's fine, still thinks boobs are horrid but will merrily suck away on a bottle the ungrateful little wretch so I spend much of my time hooked up to a machine being milked, just call me Daisy. She just sleeps constantly, I keep waiting for the screaming and crying but she's just too sleepy to bother...long may it last!

Bear I felt exactly the same on my last day, even mildly panicky at the idea of such a big change to my identity and purpose and...as soon as I was actually on maternity leave it all just disappeared and I felt fine about it.

MotherOfCleo · 05/07/2013 09:21

Juicy what nausea I had came and went at the beginning, try not to read too much into it. (hard to do I know) I found that if I ate little and often, so I didn't get hungry, I was OK, also if I didn't eat anything too rich I was fine. Plus I was worse if I got a bit dehydrated. It was only mild nausea though, apart from when I had a cheese sauce and spent what was meant to be a lovely evening out with the OHs family in the loo throwing up my guts.

Also I'm sure someone told me that the hormones are released in bursts rather than in slow steady amounts so that is why symptoms can seem to come and go.

To be honest I have had a pretty much symptom free pregnancy apart from the epic nork growth! and the little man is fine, guess that shows that sometimes our bodies just cope with it?

I know it is a total cliche but just try to enjoy it, I was wishing away those first few months wanting to get to my scan, the best thing we did was getting an early scan. Grin Have to say as well that it's hard when you find out so early, so I totally sympathise, I found out at 3 weeks and time seemed to go in slow motion till we got to 12 weeks. so I can only imagine how slowly time is going for you!

MotherOfCleo · 05/07/2013 09:24

Oh purple she is so so cute!!! Love those adorable little chubby cheeks Grin

I really can't wait to see what our little man looks like, I have a feeling he is going to be all my OH, I hope he has at least something that makes him look like I had a part in his creation.....is that a really odd hing to say?

JuicyFatSteak · 05/07/2013 10:05

Thanks for the reassurance, mother, the next week until my scan is going to drag for sure.

Purple, I wanted to kiss the screen!

All the babies on here are ravishing Smile

BraveLilBear · 05/07/2013 10:17

Purple she's gorgeous Grin

Glad it's not just me feels/felt weird about finishing work. Tis a massive change and I can't wait to not care.

Am a little more worried about how much discomfort I'm in - feels like I've got sharp stabby pains all over my bump, BabyBear going a bit circus performer and feel a bit sicky and shaky.

Have decided to get the basics done and may disappear early - feel very strange indeed.

Quodlibet · 05/07/2013 10:49

Purple she is a lush little squidge. Really beautiful - well done you! And she looks proper Berry baby dressed in purple.

Ow Bear, that doesn't sound fun. I bet the stress of final days isn't helping. Have you called your midwife to check? I reckon a nice lie down on some grass and an icecream might be worth trying?

Quodlibet · 05/07/2013 10:49

Noting nothing from Cavort since yesterday evening...

Purplemonster · 05/07/2013 11:10

I felt rough in my last couple if days at work too, I swear it's the stress. Have a lie in tomorrow and I second the sensible medicinal advice about consuming ice cream.

Thank you to everyone who thinks my hairy chubby cheeked little chipmunk is cute - I'm quite find of her but I'm aware I'm a little biased Grin

I'm getting quite excited about the lack of news from Cavort....!

Frogcatcher · 05/07/2013 11:22

Ooh no news from cavort?! Exciting!!

In news from Frogworld we found out yesterday that DP has to have another serious op on his foot as one he had before didn't work. It's basically a 3m wait for op then 8-12 wks possibly in plaster. It's going to be tight but hopefully he will be mobile again by d-day! Eeeeek if he's not. Fx that my pg is smooth & I am active all the way through & don't need to be hospitalised or have frequent hospital visits near the end as I'm going to be looking after him & SS. Another argument for home birth but fx bubs is not early.

HazleNutt · 05/07/2013 11:25

aww Daisy Purple! Victor sleeps a lot as well, normal I think. Last night was fed around midnight, 4 am and then slept through happily til 9. was awake a little and now asleep again. I'm sure this will change any day now and they'll be screaming 24/7.

Dh, as it seems, is one of 'those' parents - his facebook is full of baby photos. Baby sleeping in hammock, baby in pram, baby awake, baby sleeping in moses basket etc. By the way hammock was a good purchase, he really seems to like it.

juicy I would not worry about morning sickness, I didn't even have any.

Frogcatcher · 05/07/2013 11:29

juicy I didn't really have ms either. Never actually sick, used to feel a bit crappy in the afternoons sometimes but that went at about 10 weeks. Moody & teary as hell though! It does come & go. I paid for early scans at 8 wks & 11wks & got first official NHS one next week when I'll be 13+2.

Quodlibet · 05/07/2013 11:57

Oh you finally got your scan sorted then Frog.
Juicy I did have nausea but it was very on and off too, as were all my symptoms. I don't think you should expect any of them to be constant.

MotherOfCleo · 05/07/2013 12:49

Here's hoping Cavort is squidging her little bubba Grin

Either that or that she has finally managed to get some sleep! Preferably both!

BraveLilBear · 05/07/2013 13:14

Good news on scan frog and Hazle has a sleeping baby! Wow, go Victor!

Lol at discovering the new side to your DH though... tis very sweet Grin

Thinking of Cavort too!
