Hi everyone, hope you had good wkends, I'm looking forward to my holiday next Saturday (although won't be the usual sunbathing with wine flowing!), still can't wait just to relax especially as I'm feeling a bit rough and sick today! Work are piling on the pressure ahead of my hols but who cares, in one week I will be off for two weeks woop!

Just wondered when the really preggers people started to get lightning crotch/cervix pangs? So I can be prepared and not go into cervix panic!

OP posts:

I really wish there was Quod.

Most things that I can find on Google to hopefully get things going are too painful to attempt with SPD so I am just bouncing on the ball.

I am still having contractions every half hourish but they haven't got any stronger or longer so I think they might just be BH. They do go right through to the bottom of my back like a mega-strong period pain though so maybe it is latent labour. Whatever it is it's quite manageable at the moment but I really wish it would turn into the real thing. The agonising lightening stopped so I managed to get a few hours sleep between contractions this afternoon, which has made me feel loads better. I am booked for a sweep on Wednesday morning so if I don't go into proper labour before then I am hopeful the sweep will get things going.

Come on baby Cavort!
I discharged myself from hospital last night after a bit of a row with them so me and mini monster are home, yay! She's a joy and seems to sleep constantly. Still can't get the little rascal to feed at all but I'm syringe feeding her so she's not starving to death despite what the stupid hysterical midwife who turned up at my house twice today seems to think silly cow

Hope everyone else is well and glad To hear Miles is finally with Mum x

Cavort · 01/07/2013 21:01

I assume they wanted you to stay in then Purple? What was their reasoning? And your MW thinks she is starving despite only having a marble-sized stomach and being regularly fed by you? Hmmm.

And we're still waiting for a photo of lovely little Lucy so we can all get all doe-eyed (and jealous in my case) over it. Grin

Purplemonster · 01/07/2013 22:45

I lost a bit of blood so had gone very a bit anaemic so they wanted to give me a blood transfusion, unfortunately they waited to decide this until AFTER they had just taken the cannula out of the back of my hand then wanted to put a new one straight back in. I politely declined. I also couldn't quite see why staying overnight in a hospital with hardly any staff around was going to be better for me than sleeping in my own bed with a partner to run around after me. I got my own way in the end though doesn't get home until 11pm!

Will sort out a photo soon I promise, I'm just a bit busy starving my newborn at the moment Grin

CatsCantFlyFast · 01/07/2013 22:46

Keeping things crossed for it to happen soon for you Cavort, the waiting would have had me smashing plates by now so well done on your patience!
Gorgeous gorgeous pictures ladies. I am making myself feel better by drinking cider and knowing you lucky lot can't Grin

Purplemonster · 01/07/2013 22:47

Ugh OH made me drink Irish stout today for the iron, it was bloody vile!

CatsCantFlyFast · 01/07/2013 23:03

purple you have touched on my specialist subject! Tell your OH that the iron levels in Guinness stout are a myth... Same iron in 1 egg yolk as 3 pints of stout

Quodlibet · 01/07/2013 23:12

Cavort I have pmed you to answer your curiosity about what I do, if you get mindblowingly bored!

Purple it sounds like you have managed to get your own way at least a little bit. Glad you are home.

HazleNutt · 02/07/2013 07:04

milk has come in, just like they say it should. I can give Jordan a run for her money.

janey1234 · 02/07/2013 08:08

I thought mine had come in too Hazle, but apparently not. Boobs were still Jordan-esque too, rick solid, huge and seemingly gravity defiant. Now he's latching and feeding better they're calming down thankfully.

How was last night purple, hazle? I love my DP so much - after I did the 3am feed he disappeared with Miles until 7am - was so nice to have some sleep.

Totally recommend one of these - Miles went down happily last night and settled himself. Is good because you can cuddle him then put him down in the warmth he was in rather than on cold sheets....

BraveLilBear · 02/07/2013 08:11

Wow Hazle what an image! Grin

How's everyone else this morning?

Cavort · 02/07/2013 08:34

Still here, 40+6. Sad Zero Jordan boobs and one enormous uncomfortable Mr Greedy belly. Sad Sad After a day of contractions they seem to have stopped, or at least slowed down to practically nothing, which is bad on the birthing front but good on the sleeping front meaning I have actually had a reasonable nights sleep. I guess if the contractions are not leading to an imminent baby then I may as well not have any at all.
Sweep booked in the morning so FX that gets things going.

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/07/2013 09:08

Poor you Cavort, tho good news about the sleeping. Bank as much as you can! ps... Hoping now you've made some room there's a new BFP rush on the way Grin

Purplemonster · 02/07/2013 09:19

Morning all, sorry you're still waiting Cavort but glad you got some sleep - by the time I had my baby I'd been awake for three days straight with no sleep. I don't recommend it Grin

My boobs aren't like Jordan's but maybe they will be in the next couple of days? they're being entirely rejected by the little rat bag anyway, she prefers to let me do all the work for her then just syringe it into her mouth. Lazy baby.

Cavort · 02/07/2013 09:33

I'm sorry for moaning Merk when I know that most of you on t'other thread would happily swap places. Yes, there's plenty of room over here for the impending stampede of BFP's. Grin

3 days without sleep Purple? You deserve a medal if you still had the energy to push a baby out after that. If mine goes the same way I imagine I could be on for a divorce by the end of it. I am an absolute cow when tired, let alone in pain.

I hope Lucy takes a liking to your boobs soon. Smile

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/07/2013 09:36

cavort moan away! I feel so sorry for you hanging around. How many times have you been advised to try pineapple/walking/sex/curries by now?

Cavort · 02/07/2013 09:59

Merk yeah the advice is wearing a little thin now. I want to twat everyone who so much as mentions an old wives tale or tells me she will come when she's ready. Having said that, I have just eaten half a pineapple washed down by rasberry leaf tea and I have been running up and down stairs this morning. DH was helping me out on the sex theory but has been put off his stride by the MW saying she could feel the baby's head during last week's sweep - I don't know exactly where he thought the head was previous to that?? Grin

HazleNutt · 02/07/2013 10:03

janey I think little Vic is still tired from birth, he ate at midnight, 4 and 6, but otherwise just slept happily through the night, not a sound.

If everything looks ok today, we can finally go home tomorrow, can't wait.

cavort fx for that sweep. I totally understand how fed up you are.

MotherOfCleo · 02/07/2013 10:12

Oh cavort, I hope she comes soon! For your sanity if nothing else! My friend had contractions like yours which came and went for 4 or 5 days before her son finally decided to put in an appearance. Sucks big time huh! Bless your OH, they are special souls huh.

Merk we all hope you are over here soon!!

Purple, hope Lucy learns the wonder of boobs soon! Little minx has you jumping through hoops doesn't she.

So Bear is due next is that right, then who after that?

BraveLilBear · 02/07/2013 10:27

Oh Cavort poor you - I'm starting to get impatient and I've got potentially 5 weeks of waiting to go through yet!

Sorry that DP has been put off doing the deed. Maybe reminding him that it could be his last time for a couple of months may motivate him to get involved...? I was strangely encouraged to hear that my DP is considering manning up to aid eviction the other day... I made a cheeky suggestion (my libido has totally exited stage left these days) about helping out and he said, very matter of fact 'it's too early to work yet'.

I took this as oddly hopeful that some action will be had before Baby Bear arrives! Don't get me wrong, really not interested in that way, but have been craving that 'early relationship deed-doing' that you have in the early days before reality sets in lately. Tho, I imagine the first few times post baby will have to be in that ilk?

Least you got some sleep!

FX that all will be well for you to head home soon Hazle and congrats on the working boobage Janey and I'm seconding the use of pompoms to encourage PurpleLucy to get on board the milk wagon, too Grin

BraveLilBear · 02/07/2013 10:29

Oh - and definitely plenty of room for some BFP berries to head over... tho I hope our mummy berries don't all jump ship Sad

MotherOfCleo · 02/07/2013 11:06

I agree Brave, they can't leave us!

Cavort · 02/07/2013 11:12

Brave I can't believe I finished work a month ago - it has flown by and i'm sure it will for you too.

And I am not too bothered about lack of DTD - I am so uncomfortable it's difficult to enjoy it at the moment... I would rather have another cup of rasberry leaf. Grin

I do want baby to turn up, preferably naturally, ASAP, but at least I know that whatever happens she will be here by the middle of next week so there is light at the end of the tunnel, which makes me feel better.

Cavort · 02/07/2013 11:13

And I won't be going anywhere post-baby. You are stuck with me forever!

Purplemonster · 02/07/2013 11:48

Well I was going to ask if people wanted us to stick around or if you we're all going to get fed up with smart arsed know it alls saying 'well when I was pregnant...' Or going on about babies. I'll stay as long as I'm welcome!

Just remembered, today was my due date, glad I don't have to do it all again though!

Cavort, have you tried driving over speed bumps or a long walk
