LittleMissSnowShine · 17/06/2013 14:08

red - if the sickness gets much worse it could be HG. I've had it in all 3 pregnancies and it is vile. There's a good support thread on here somewhere which you should look out for, great place to get tips on managing bad sickness and to get support on feeling really down about it. I had 8 weeks of pure hell in January and February and it was so hard to feel excited and positive about being pg but it did eventually pass. Tablets from dr helped a bit and that thread helped a lot! Hope you feel better soon xx

Agh I am feeling foul today!! Normally work Mondays but I'm in Belfast and so is ... err.. Obama so traffic chaos here today and twisted boss's arm into letting me work from home today. Really getting nothing done cos DS is here too and I am feeling so wretched, tired, bad SPD, headache, nauseous etc. Not sure if it's just a bug maybe or just being 33 weeks pg and fed up, but not getting anything more productive than a bit of cleaning bathroom and getting a load of washing on!!

kittykatsforever · 17/06/2013 14:15

I've only had 4 hrs sleep for the past 2 nights...... That is all
Waves at friends then shuts eyes

Thingymajigs · 17/06/2013 14:37

Sorry to hear that everyone is feeling crappy. Hope you catch up on your sleep kitty.
Time is passing so slowly. I'm only 6+3. Confused Scan next Monday though so time better hurry up.
In great news, my previously sad deflated boobs have found a new lease of life. I've gone up a whole cup size already. I am loving this pregnancy.

MrsBri · 17/06/2013 17:06

Hello ladies :-)

I hope you've managed to get at least a nap now kitty.

Been to midwife and baby is 1/5, so good to go. He's also shoving VERY hard downwards. Think he's established where the door is :-)

Booked for a sweep a week tomorrow. Hopefully I don't need it!

BelissimaLol · 17/06/2013 18:19

Hi all
Thingy the beginning takes forever!! I remember thinking "how can I possibly be 6+3 only????" It does go a bit faster towards the end as you start panicking and almost wishing you had more time to get ready
Nic so hopefully you are on your way now! Must be beyond frustrating to sit and wait and be kicked!!
I've got my 34 week check tomorrow. Not expecting anything exciting. My friend said my bump has dropped and as far as she knows that happens 5 weeks before birth. Is she making it up???

MrsBri · 17/06/2013 18:50

I hope that's not true, Lol, as my bump has barely dropped at all. But Baby B is tall and shoves his arse out of the bump constantly, so even though he has dropped, he can still fill the whole bump!

I don't think there's any set rules about anything from what I can tell!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 17/06/2013 20:10

thingy ooh one week to go till scan. V exciting

kitty really hope you've had some sleep by now.

lol not sure about bump dropping 5 weeks before birth. When I was pregnant with dd it didn't drop at all. She wasn't really engaged until I went into labour.

msrbri glad he (I'm still going she) is heading in the right direction. Have you considered shining a light at your fanjango to give him more if a clue Grin. Hope you don't need the sweep.

I'm really worried about my friend, she is only 33weeks and the babies heart rate keeps decelerating, she might need to be induced tonight Sad

MrsBri · 17/06/2013 20:17

Goodness, When, I hope your friend and baby are OK. At least if she's being monitored she's in the right place for both of them.

And 33 weeks really isn't too bad these days either.

And as for the light, a friend of mine suggested the same thing!

Alexandra6 · 17/06/2013 20:32

Hi all, sorry I haven't been around lately, I've been manic at work and had cervix panics (had to go to EPU on Friday as thought my cervix was opening and had a real panic, all seems ok though). I'm now desperately trying to catch up on everyone! Am off on holiday on

mrsbri sounds like baby B is getting ready! Exciting!

Alexandra6 · 17/06/2013 20:34

Sorry baby brain!! Was meant to add in that I'm off on holiday on sat if all goes well with my cervix scans this week. And thingy time literally crawls doesn't it, has sped up a bit for me now but then crawls again if I'm having a worrying time! I'm trying to relax and enjoy the pregnancy a bit more!

MrsBri · 17/06/2013 20:51

That must have been so scary, Alex. Was it you or your midwife who thought it was opening?

I'm glad all is OK and I hope you get your holiday as planned.

RedRobin1 · 17/06/2013 20:53

Thanks littlemiss it's not as bad as hg and it comes and goes. Some days are good and some are good. I am just counting down to the end of this trimester and then I can start enjoying being pregnant a bit more.

I try and take 5mins out in the evenings to just think about baby and feel so grateful and thankful that he or she is growing well in me.

thingy I know the feeling - it's like watching paint dry, although I am sure paint dries quicker Wink hang in there - you are half way through to 12 weeks.

mrsbri I hope you don't need the sweep either! Are you 39 weeks now? Ooooo it's exciting!

when my brother was 33weeks and was in an incubator - so tiny and beautiful and he is now 25 yrs old and all good and healthy. Fingers crossed for your friend.

kitty did you get a few winks? I worry about how I will cope with the lack of sleep! Hope she has a long snooze tonite :)

alex gosh! You've had a horrendous time with the cervix scans-fingers crossed all is well so you can go on your well deserved holibobs and put your feet up!!

Waves at kitten lol and ted and anyone else I may have missed!

RedRobin1 · 17/06/2013 20:54

Some are bad* haha wish it was all good!

MrsBri · 17/06/2013 21:01

Yep, red, 39+4 today. Eek! Proving everyone at work wrong who was convinced I'd go early. Boo!

I hope I don't need the sweep either. It's most disconcerting having a head feeling like it is lodged between your legs!

I hope unite sickness fades soon, red. It must be exhausting.

MrsBri · 17/06/2013 21:01

Unite?! Your!

RedRobin1 · 17/06/2013 21:26

ads how are you getting on? Did you get an appointment for an early scan? x

Adsum · 17/06/2013 21:35

Hello! Smile
Am still in denial-land! Forgot to call for the scan today so will try and do it later this week. Feeling very bloated and (tmi) constipated - no action there for 2 days now - I'm surprised I can fit more food in but tummy is all big because of it!
Also saw lots of friends/acquaintances this weekend so lots of small glasses of wine/half drunk ones so that nobody would ask me as I'm a dreadful liar and REALLY don't want to tell anyone apart from those who already know - unfortunately I haven't gone off wine!! Just felt v guilty but don't really think its enough to cause major damage Shock

Hope sickness wears off soon tho red but it is a good sign isn't it?! X

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 17/06/2013 22:06

Hi alex sorry to hear about the cervix nightmare, you must have been terrified. Hope you enjoy your hol.

Waves at ads over in denial land. Constipation sucks, I only ever suffer from it when pregnant. Hope you try your scan booked soon.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 17/06/2013 22:13

All has gone quiet with my friend. I have a feeling that means she is currently being induced / having a c section Sad

You guys are right though 33 weeks really isn't too bad nowadays

kiwi5 · 17/06/2013 22:58

hi from a not very prolific poster!

xxxx

Thingymajigs · 18/06/2013 07:18

Congratulations kiwi! Barnaby is a great name, its on our list too.
My eldest had tongue tie as well and it caused a few issues so I'm glad to hear feeding is going ok. Give him a cuddle from us. Smile
How is your friend doing when? 33 weeks is usually a safe date to deliver but its always worrying. The weeks of being stuck in hospital can be really unsettling too. Hope everything goes smoothly.
Sympathetic nods from me about the constipation problems ads. Eating lots of fruit, veg and porridge helps quite a bit.
Come on baby bri! Are you feeling any suspiciously strong Braxton Hicks yet?

Alexandra6 · 18/06/2013 07:18

Congrats on your little boy kiwi

when I've been asking around about premmie births as was worried about that and it does seem that chances are good at 33 weeks (especially with steroid injections for the lungs etc). Hope your friend is ok. Sorry but what happened with her, been trying to catch up but must have missed that post?

mrsbri I'm excited for you! A friend of mine had a second baby the other day on just gas and air, said it was a good birth?! She said she really managed her breathing? Guess I'll learn all that at NCT. Wonder how much the good birth was down to her relaxing and breathing or whether it was just an easier birth.

Off for cervix scan today. Hi to everyone else Smile

Thingymajigs · 18/06/2013 07:21

Good luck with the scan alex. Let us know how it goes.

MrsBri · 18/06/2013 07:31

Congrats, kiwi :-) Great name!

Alex, good luck with the scan.

Thingy, I've had two evenings over the last two weeks where I've thought 'this is it' only for the contractions to stop! I'm ready and waiting for the real thing now.

Come on out, Baby B! I do think he's having too much fun in there though. I just want to meet baby now and find out if it is a boy or a girl and get to know them properly. :-)

kittykatsforever · 18/06/2013 09:24

Wow there's alot of posts since I stumbled in yesterday, managed to stay in bed til 7:45 this morning ( 2 night feeds) but better then the 2 yesterday when I had to start the day at 5:30!
Congrats kiwi that's wonderful news, did you know you were having a boy? Glad the tongue tie doesn't seem to be causing you feeding problems

When how is your friend?

Alex good to hear from you, I was wondering about you the other day and hoping you wee ok, let us know how the scan goes

Red- hope the sickness goes soon, it will really all seem like a distant memory soon enough and you can enjoy the 2nd tri
