Thought I may as well start this given I'll be around for another (hopefully) 14ish weeks :) Hope I've not crossed posts with anyone!

Thanks for that post thingy I was starting to feel a bit guilty not getting a pram ready for him. I think it might be me next, sorry if I've forgotten anyone. I'm 36 weeks today so starting to see the finish line you wait I'll probably still be pregnant in 7 weeks

Had a good weekend here

The plaster is done in the nursery and with the beautiful weather it is drying out at a super quick rate.

Friend came over with her ridiculously energetic 6 year old and confirmed I have a pregnant waddle now Smile

And my cousin is pregnant again (it's a secret but you guys won't tell anyone). It took her nearly 2 years to conceive her ds who is now 7 months old. She was a bit lax with the contraction as "I'm obviously not that fertile and with a small baby we don't have much sex" Grin
She thinks she is 7 weeks pregnant but with her irregular periods she isn't sure. She's happy about it but in a bit of a panic about having two so close together and all the nursery fees.

Hope you have all had a good weekend.

Alexandra6 · 01/10/2013 08:12

And am I next after when?! I'm 32 weeks!

Our house is still a building site (had a leak/flood on the weekend eek!) so can't even get into the nursery room, lots to do and we're worryingly busy at weekends in October but as long as we're more ready for the new arrival by 36/37 weeks, I'll be relaxed. And if the baby comes earlier than that, our main concern would be if the baby is ok anyway! can you tell I'm determined not to freak out

when it took us a year and a half and drugs to get our BFP so I was thinking about not using contraception after this baby as I feel infertile without clomid anyway. I can now imagine using that same line your cousin used so maybe I do need to rethink that! Wink Although I'd be the same as your cousin, still happy about it, even if a larger gap would be ideal!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 01/10/2013 15:30

I think you must be next alex my cousin is very much if the same opinion about BFPs. It took her so long to get the first she's really happy about this one. She just needs to get used to the shock.

I'm guessing your cervix is doing well (I have got it right? We're you the one worried about that in the early days).

Alexandra6 · 01/10/2013 15:37

Yes that was me, that time in my pregnancy is known in my head as the 'dark time' - was literally terrified! My last cervix scan at 21-ish weeks showed it as over 3cm and no funnelling so I started to relax and my holiday in Spain really helped with the stress from it. I'm really glad I didn't have the stitch and operation (recommended by the first consultant I saw) purely as it looks like my cervix is holding up without it, but hindsight is a great thing!

kittykatsforever · 01/10/2013 15:57

Alex I too met someone who had taken clomid to get bfp first time and got pregnant when dc1 was 3 months, it may well be worth a second though unless you bf as that does hinder your chances aswell while you are exclusively doing it, pregnancy made me much more fertile after first, dd1 took just over 18 months but naturally ( we had just begun tests) then since having her I have only had one af ( 2 mc and pregnancy with dd2) since, I never thought I could get caught so easily after the length of that first time

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 02/10/2013 21:54

alex "the dark time" Sad at least that bit is over now. Glad you can enjoy your pregnancy now (not sure just how much enjoyment there is to be had in the third trimester).

Alexandra6 · 03/10/2013 10:09

I'm loving the third trimester overall so far, apart from some bad nights sleep last week and being tired, I'm enjoying it! Had my first NCT class last night, seemed like a nice group. Did anyone else do NCT? How did you find it?

Alexandra6 · 03/10/2013 10:12

Oh and I've just seen a thread about people being bored when they go on mat leave before the baby arrives, I just can't imagine that! Am I really lazy, as I think I can happily occupy the time with doing stuff around the house, box sets, going for hot choc walks and meeting a friend for lunch now and again! Even if I end up getting a whole month prebaby, I just can't imagine getting bored! The only down side would be a bit of guilt that I'm enjoying relaxing while DH still has to work!

RedRobin1 · 03/10/2013 18:25

when very happy for your friend! It must be lovely to get a surprise bfp after ttc for long the first time around. I can imagine it's a bit scary at first but she will love having two siblings grow up close together Smile

I have my NCT booked in the third trimester too alex so can't be of much help but let me know how you get on! I will def join you in enjoying mat leave! I can't wait after the last few weeks at work I am soooooo looking forward to doing nothing but enjoying Christmas festivities, got a spa voucher to use, meet friends for lunches and dinners and just enjoy being huge and whale like for the last month SmileSmile

My bump looks like I have swallowed a big football! I am def carrying out front and lot of people have said nice things about me having a 'neat' bump Smile I love the odd bit of good pregnancy attention. Although starting to sound like a heavy breathing hippo when turning in bed at night! It's almost like doing a 3-point turn in the car!

Alexandra6 · 03/10/2013 21:15

You make me laugh red - I'm such a heavy breather after climbing a flight of stairs I sound like an obese heavy smoker!! (I mean while I'm pregnant, not generally haha!)

I've had loads of neat bump comments too, love it! I also got some gorgeous maternity hand me down clothes the other day so am liking having new outfits to wear!

Envy of your spa voucher. Trying to decide what to treat myself to as a mat leave pressie. Lots of people say pedicure but seems a bit pointless in winter when no one will see them!

RedRobin1 · 03/10/2013 22:20

I am not having a pedi either as will have socks all through the winter months. Using the voucher for a facial instead! I am a sucker for snoozing while someone rubs gorgeous smelling stuff on my face Smile

How long till you start mat leave?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasExhausted · 05/10/2013 09:21

red you are right she is really lucky. I think she is going to struggle at first. She gets hideous morning sickness - not fun with an 8 month old baby.
Once she has paid for child care costs it will be amazing.

A facial sounds lovely.

alex I wasn't bored on mat leave with dd. My brain died and I just floated around feeling very calm and stupid for about a month. Enjoy it.

kittykatsforever · 05/10/2013 19:51

I never got bored either, best days of my life lol
Where is kitten with her story??
Hope your allright fellow cat?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasExhausted · 06/10/2013 07:56

Hi kitty, I was wondering about kitten. Really hope she is ok.

I'm officially full term today, woo hoo. Don't think I'm about to give birth just yet though. I was beyond shattered yesterday, my lovely mil came round and insisted I put my feet up for a bit while she looked after dd. I then fell asleep for 4 hours [shame]

RedRobin1 · 06/10/2013 13:15

Very Envy of your MIL when mine just is a typical textbook MIL who stresses me out..

Hope kitten is okay was thinking of her too and not heard from her since

kittykatsforever · 06/10/2013 20:00

Oh when a 4hr nap, I'm with red Envy
Full term hey! When was dd1 born??

WhenSheWasBadSheWasExhausted · 06/10/2013 20:41

I know I'm really luck with my PILs, I should really get kicked off mumsnet I think it's compulsory to have crap / evil ones.

Dd was born at 38 weeks 1 day, so hopefully this one won't hang around too long. I've been really out of breath today, bumps very high and I'm struggling to do anything that requires any exertion at all. and when the bump drops I'll complain he's on my bladder, there really is no pleasing me at the moment

weechops · 09/10/2013 07:37

Hey girls got some sad news - my dad passed away in the early hours of Monday morning :( he had been ill for some time with lung disease but hospital called on Saturday and said to go up. Really sad he won't get to meet the baby, he was so excited about it. Just trying to organise things. Trying my hardest not to stress too much for the baby's sake but its awful :(

RedRobin1 · 09/10/2013 08:34

Alexandra6 · 10/10/2013 20:16

BelissimaLol · 10/10/2013 21:38

Oh wee how sad to hear about your dad. How are you doing?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasExhausted · 12/10/2013 14:28

wee how are you doing? Hope you are ok.

Had a very lovely morning, some friends organised a suprise baby shower / play date for the kids. It was lots of fun and really sweet of them to organise.
