Thought I may as well start this given I'll be around for another (hopefully) 14ish weeks :) Hope I've not crossed posts with anyone!

Thanks for the good luck! Just had it and all looked good except the head was measuring up small on the chart, so they need to get me back at 24/25 weeks to check again. She didn't seem too concerned (unless she was being nice!) but of course I'm a bit worried! She said the brain looked good and everything else and the baby was drinking which was so cute. Was anyone else told their sizes were below average for anything? Mine is ironic as DH and I both had huge heads as babies!

I like Marcus Thomas, lovely name!

kittykatsforever · 09/07/2013 10:13

I wasn't told anything was small but the measurements on my notes were small on some and big on others, from what I've gathered off other girls who have had extra scans its always been fine and there is alot of room for error I know of them giving weigh estimates that were 2lb off!
I really like Marcus too it's not something you hear often but not too unusual, milo is cute aswell mind but I found if dh doesn't agree you rarely get to change their minds, I loved cleo for dd2 and dh was having non if it Hmm

Kittenkatzen · 09/07/2013 10:25

Thanks girls, Marcus can stay on the maybe list then Smile. kitty I love the name Cleo but gave it to my cat...kind of regretting that now!!

alex as per kitty some of my measurements are on the smaller end of the little chart they put in my notes but nothing was said. In fact the only comment they did make was that my baby had a "fat little tummy"! I'm sure all is well and you're getting a lovely bonus scan to boot Smile

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 09/07/2013 11:42

I wouldn't worry too much alex. The scans aren't always brilliant at guessing size and some people just have small heads. My family all have small heads, makes hat buying tricky.

Thingymajigs · 09/07/2013 14:25

Marcus is a great name. Smile Not overused either. I'm not too bothered about having an unusual name but ds2 is one of 4 in his class so it'd be nice to avoid that this time. For boys we like Arlo, Dexter, Benedict, Caspar (DP is yet to be convinced) or Zachary (but Dp's friends baby is called that so he has vetoed it.) As I have two boys I doubt we'll have a girl but I like Lucia, Penelope, Naomi, Eliza or Beatrix.

Thingymajigs · 09/07/2013 14:27

Oh I love Cleo too. Its on our name list which is quite extensive at this stage.

RedRobin1 · 09/07/2013 15:20

I love Marcus - it's such a fab name.
Thingy I have Naomi on my list too :)

Does anyone have any views on Natasha? DH and I love it and the only one we've agreed on but is it quite old fashioned?

alex don't worry about small wad measurements - from what little I know I think babies grow at different rates and speeds after 12w so it will be fine.

We've decided to wait till 20w to shop for baby things. The list stuff is getting obsessive kitten know where you are coming from with all them lists!!!

Alexandra6 · 09/07/2013 16:00

Ooh I'm loving this name chat! The cat comment made me laugh earlier - I took a week and a half choosing our cat's name so you can imagine how indecisive I'm feeling about our baby's name! I also like our cat's name and kind of wish I'd kept it as a baby option, although it's Cassie which reminds me a bit of Rodney's wife in Only Fool's and Horses!

Anyway I love Natasha, very pretty name - it's my little stepsister's middle name and she wishes it was her first name!

We have chosen our boy's name and we're debating the middle name and whether to use my dad's name, Bradley, for the middle name. What do you think of Bradley as a middle name, can't remember if I've asked before?

Girl's names we like are: Isabella/Isobella, Sophia, Amy, Lauren and Chloe. What do you think of those?

RedRobin1 · 09/07/2013 16:30

alex in order of preference

Lauren
Amy
Sophia
Isabella
Chloe

I am struggling with boys names - just can't think of any we like. I love James but DH prefers Jamie.

I love Bradley - it rolls off he tongue nicely and sounds really good.

kittykatsforever · 09/07/2013 16:50

Red, Jamie was my boys name, it's a name not used really now but I think it's lovely and I like Jamie Oliver lol
Also like Benjamin
I think Bradley is nice particulally if its got a family link too
From the girls I like Lauren the best aswell ( it's my sis name) but its not so popular now, I like all the names on the list but if in honest wouldn't go anywhere near Isabel, Isabella, bella or any derivative purely because its so popular. When I looked at the top 100 girls names last year I think there was 2 versions in the top 5 and I know lots of people who have used it, it's the whole twilight thing isn't it, that's not to say its not a really pretty name though its just whether you want your dd to be 1 of 5 others in the class iyswim, it was the same with the name Harry, that's one of my favs but the same for popularity

kittykatsforever · 09/07/2013 16:53

Alex I really like cassie to lol, I'd never have thought of it but now you've written it I'm like that's a lovely name and I've never heard of one ( you definatly shouldn't have given if to the cat) lol I'm lucky I only believe in pet names if you get me so my 3 are Pepsi, dolly and tinky I'd never want to use those although Chantelle did lol

kittykatsforever · 09/07/2013 16:55

Oh and really like Natasha too, we talked about that and also Natalie I preferred Natalie but only because I liked the shortened version Tilly thought it was abit prettier sounding then tash but there wasn't much in it

Alexandra6 · 09/07/2013 17:00

Damn our bloody cat ;) Should have thought this through Wink I would LOVE to give my mum's name to our baby as a middle name if it's a girl but I absolutely HATE her name (won't say it in case anyone is considering it but it's not a popular name these days anyway). It's a shame as would have loved to have done that for her!

Yes I love James and Jamie, great names. I also wanted Benjamin as an option, but DH didn't like someone in school called Ben so vetoed it! I really like Lauren too, it's funny as I never had it as front runner until recently so have surprised myself with that one.

I think Chloe is DH's fave out of our girl's names. I don't know any Chloe's funnily enough.

Kittenkatzen · 09/07/2013 17:53

Another vote for Lauren and Naomi here! Also love Isabella, and esp the nn Bella but ignoring the Twilight link that's my other cat's name. Doh!!

Agree Bradley works really well as a middle name - particularly as it won't get shortened to Brad which isn't as nice imo.

Natasha I'm in two minds about - you know it'll get shortened somehow, and I'm really not a fan of Nat (especially with the glottal stop you hear round my way!) so it would depend if you force it to be Tash/Tasha instead! Lovely name generally though, I don't think it's old fashioned.

alex we came to an agreement on the family naming front - if it's a boy he'll have my dads middle name as his middle name, and a girl will have mil's middle name as her middle name Smile

I love Natasha and Lauren. I love Lara too. And Isabella. What about a more exotic Gabriella??? I love that name!
I never thought much about boys names as we waited until the scan to start arguing!!! But I like Louis, Antonio, and other exotic sounding ones!
On other news I'm full term today. 37 weeks. Eek.

kittykatsforever · 09/07/2013 18:06

Chloe is gorgeous aswell!
My dh also vetoed Benjamin as he said they called the Benjamin he knew benjaminge! Very mature I know lol

kittykatsforever · 09/07/2013 18:11

Agree with kitten on the nat part tash much nicer!
My friends little boy is called Luca, I really like that too also Finlay!
We are a bunch of cat lovers arnt we

Alexandra6 · 09/07/2013 18:21

Oh my god I'm lying in my garden after work and my baby is kicking and I can feel it on the outside for the first time!!! It's amazing! Can't take my hand off my belly! I even saw it move. Awww Grin you can tell it's my first baby by my ridiculous excitement although not sure I could ever get bored of this!

Benjaminge Grin

Hang on lol I thought 40 weeks was full term?! What's this about 37 weeks? What does full term mean? Congrats and eek good luck, not long now!

RedRobin1 · 09/07/2013 19:30

Awwww alex that sounds so lovely. I can't wait to get to that stage where I can feel kicks. Very Envy and excited for you.

Haha we had the same debate about nicknames being Nat or Tash and we love Tash and Tasha.

kittykatsforever · 09/07/2013 19:41

Alex you never get tired of it Grin

kittykatsforever · 09/07/2013 19:43

Oh and yes full term is 37wks and onwards so if baby is born after 37they are classed as full term not a prem

Kittenkatzen · 10/07/2013 06:27

One of the September ladies posted a link to this on fb yesterday, thought you girls might like it too - I think it's bloody brilliant Grin

Great video. Smile I remember a 19ish woman shouting at a breastfeeding mother in a cafe for being "disgusting" and "putting her off her meal". I always wonder if she grew up to regret that or is still anti-BF.
lol, I love Gabriella. Although I dislike Gabby. I also love Peter but not Pete. And Penelope but not Penny. It's a shame that the nicknames tend to put me off. Oh, also on my name lists are Willow, Mary (although this is the bookies favourite for the Royal baby). Boys- Charlie and George.
How is everyone coping in this heat? I'm very glad I'm having a winter baby this time. With ds2 we had a heatwave up to 33ºc a week before he was due. I spent a lot of time crunching ice and not moving.

Kittenkatzen · 11/07/2013 07:38

Is Mary the bookies fave for the royal baby then? My money's on Alexandra Smile
