LOL.... I made a packed lunch for work today...even though I get a cooked lunch provided!

On the bump measuring, u should have the chart in ur notes...let me know if not & I'll upload a pic of it to fb.

Purple the trick is to NEVER stop going to the osteo, just keep extending the time between appointments. If u stop, they don't catch issues early enough & u end up having to spend £££ getting it fixed. I'm speaking from nearly 10 years of back issue experience (following a very mild whiplash from a bump at a roundabout when I was a student)....

flipflump · 12/06/2013 18:11

Emma, I did my sample today and noticed those bits. Was freaking out as I handed my pot over and MW said my urine was fine, no issues.

I'm measuring 29cm at 27+1. Bit big but I guess that's because I had a belly pre-pregnancy. Hopefully at next app I'll be on track. I'm not all that hungry at the moment. Today I've had special K, mid morning banana and lunch was a sandwich. Haven't made dinner yet but it will be chicken salad and pineapple for pud. Not sure how I can improve on that?! If there are any dieticians amongst you I'd be grateful for advice.

Kittenkatzen · 12/06/2013 18:19

frog it wasn't the same fat bitch troublesome colleague as last time was it? I did tell you to slap her! GrinWink. Seriously though are you worried? Have you got a kick counter on an app somewhere to put your mind at rest?

fl0 that is an impressive list! I've gone off food a bit generally the last week or so...don't know if it's diminishing space or something but it's most disappointing - I love eating!

ready please could you post the pic of the chart to fb? I don't think there's one in my notes and I'm interested...was told I'm measuring a week ahead at last mw appt.

frogchops · 12/06/2013 18:30

Yes kitten, same fat bitch! vile woman. I don't know if I'm just being dramatic. He's usually at his most active between now and bedtime so I'll see how that goes. Sad

fl0b0t · 12/06/2013 18:31

:-) eaaaatttiing. I have heartburn and feel sick but I can't stop right now! eek! I'm still weighing below my predicted weight gain and don't feel like i've put on anything except boobs and bump so happy with that. I find that whatever I eat I want to eat again. Hence two lots of weetabix!!

kipsonline · 12/06/2013 18:38

Argh. In hospital. Suspected DVT. Trying to stay calm...

kimjayne · 12/06/2013 18:51

hey ladies. nice to see all the bump pic updates on facebook. Our shapes and sizes are all really varied! its really interesting. im pretty sure mines had another growth spurt since my last post. Lord knows how big im gonna get!? yikes.
I was measuring 28cm at 27 weeks so I think im a rad bigger than I should be. But that doesnt surprise me.
went on our first NCT class last night. The other 7 couples seem nice (phew) and all similar ages to myself and the DH which is nice. And we are all due end of aug/start of Sept.
Did have a mini panic when the midwife calles me yesterday regarding my blood results. Apparently my Iron levels are low so she wants me to start on some Iron tablets. So nothing major!

HettySunshine · 12/06/2013 18:52

Oh no Kips! I'm so sorry, try not to panic the docs will get you sorted. Sending you hugs x

juniper9 · 12/06/2013 19:30

Kami glad things seem ok, and fingers crossed for kips.

I've been taken back under my hospital's maternal medicine unit rather than seeing my normal midwife group- I've been having stupidly fast heart rate (it went up to 165 whilst climbing the stairs the other day!) and they want to keep an eye on my appointments with cardiology. Wasn't a fan of my midwife team anyway, so I see it as a bonus.

CharlW1 · 12/06/2013 20:22

Sending hugs your way kip hope everything is ok.

I gave been suffering something terrible today with back pain - think it might be pelvic girdle pain as it is going right through my bum and top if my right leg. For those with experience - is it best to see a physio or osteopath? I have private medical insurance through work so I am thinking that I might as well use it.

Readytosettle · 12/06/2013 20:28

I actually use a chiropractor, but the main thing is to check what techniques they use. Try and find someone who uses a combination of acupuncture, physio massage/exercises & manipulation techniques.

kipsonline · 12/06/2013 20:46

Have been admitted, need chest and leg X-ray in am... On blood thinners and lovely surgical stockings too, delightful! Thanks for msgs

jennimoo · 12/06/2013 20:47

Hope it's all ok kips.

I measured 29 at 28 weeks (last week) which MW said was fine. She said even when bumps look big/small once you lie down they're mostly the same size!

Joskar · 12/06/2013 20:48

kips Oh no! Hope you get it sorted out and everything is well. Sending you positive and calm thoughts. Fingers crossed. Let us know how it goes. Flowers

Purple My "treatment" hasn't started yet. I need to see an osteopath about my feet first and the earliest they can see me is the 19th. I've been unable to walk properly for almost a month and unable to do any of the exercises because my mobility is so poor. "Too far gone," said the good NHS physio I saw. There are no private physios in the area with experience of this so I'm a bit stuck with what I can get on the NHS. Last couple of days my mobility has improved and I was so desperate to leave the house that tonight I went on a very slow walk. Needless to say I'm back in agony. A step too far it would seem! I think I'm starting to get quite depressed because of it. Glad your care is better and that you are catching it all early. CharlW1 take note! See a physio soon as you possibly can!

frog well done for not crying. That's what I usually end up doing when I'm angry! Sarcasm is your friend here I'd say. Nothing like a bit of passive aggression to relieve the feelings.

fl0b0t I'd be having that lot as a snack. Where's the six (at least) biscuits?!

I'm so jealous of you all with the yoga and the NCT classes. Not a sausage round here except the NHS. Mind you there are lots of farmers so probably I could go and get a bit of birthing advice from Jim over the hill. He's assisted in many a delivery.

Keepsmilingsunshine · 12/06/2013 21:31

Hope everything is ok Kips, you're in the best place. Let us know how it goes.

I was a Dr's receptionist in a past life and we always had a load of pots for various bodily fluids behind the counter. My advice is if you ever forget go with a full bladder and ask for a pot as you check in.

Kami hope you are now home and all is well.

I have done absolutely nothing for this baby yet. I have not brought a single item, thought of a name, cleared the nursery...do I win the prize for the least prepared person here? In truth, this is my second, so I do have most of the things I need somewhere in the loft but it all seems to far away to start getting it all down. I am however on the count down to mat leave..7 weeks and 2 days!!

frogchops · 12/06/2013 21:33

You're right joskar, I'm usually very quick with these things, and other colleagues have said before I'm the most sarcastic person they know Blush....but I was using all my strength trying not to cry.
Hope ur ok kips, Wink

Readytosettle · 12/06/2013 21:40

Hope they get u fixed and out of hospital quickly kips! Keep us posted. X

jennimoo · 12/06/2013 21:51

Keepsmiling - I'm not much ahead of you prep wise but have begun to check over stuff from the loft and may have a name.

I'm only 4 weeks til mat leave now :) and as I work 2 days a week a have a days leave that's 7 working days I think now!

Kittenkatzen · 12/06/2013 22:36

Thanks hetty

Oh kips that sucks, hope they get you fixed soon!

Fozziebearmum2b · 12/06/2013 22:37

Does anyone else have a really high pressured job? Been working like an idiot on a project recently and starting to wonder if all this stress will impact on lo... Ironically I work in HR so they should know better.

It's hard to get the toss up right between acting normally and looking after yourself

herewego2 · 12/06/2013 23:32

Fozziebear I can really relate to what you are saying, I reached hysteria by lunch: an adult student fainted 4 times in my arms on news of death of her mother, I was on the floor cuddling her trying to stop her screaming, onto dealing with accusations of racism from a mentally unwell student and finally dealing with a teacher's rather large personal problem that showed up in person. I don't think I got to go to the toilet all morning. Not even done any of my actual jobs on the list today that all have deadlines because of everyone's emotional business. Very weird and stressful day. Counting the days til maternity leave. Sorry if this is TMI!!!!

MrsMangoBiscuit · 13/06/2013 05:49

Fozzie, I too work in HR. We're seriously understaffed at the moment, rapidly approaching our busiest time of the year, and trying to get sorted out for our on - off - on office move. (thankfully not as stressful as herewego2's day :( ) Thing is, although I know my work is stressful, it doesn't seem to stress me out, I feel no physical symptoms from it. I love my job, I love the challange, but I seem to have gotten very good at putting it down when I leave and just switching off. I'm not worried at all that it'll be effecting DD2.

Are you getting any physical symptoms of stress? If so, it might be a good idea to step back a bit, or at least speak to someone about it. If not, then I wouldn't worry about it. But make sure you have time for the toilet, you keep drinking plenty, and you have snacks at hand. Or that you have lovely colleagues like mine who keep bringing me water and offering fruit and cakes. :)

kips I hope you're ok, and I bet you are rocking those surgical stockings!

jennimoo · 13/06/2013 06:06

I have suffered with anxiety before and read that normal everyday stress isn't going to affect your baby. It's only massive things like bereavement which might do.

However if its getting to the stage where you get physical symptoms ( I used to get queasiness, heart palpitations, insomnia) it's worth seeing the dr / talking to your MW as in my case stress/ anxiety led to depression a few times.

I'm pleased to report though that this is the second pregnancy where my mental health has been at least as good as normal, if not better :)
