Very early days but I'm due 26 January - really expecting early February after being 15 days late with DC1. Thought I'd get the ball rolling Grin

Anyone else?

I'm the same. I managed to have long afternoon snoozes on Monday and Friday because I was working from home. I've also napped yesterday and today, I find my sickness is much worse if I'm tired.

I'm due to be working in London four days this week, which will mean 6am starts and not getting back until 7 at the earliest. I've no idea how I'll cope. DH wants me to work from home some extra days but I have meetings I need to attend.

I'm trying not to complain about the exhaustion and sickness, as I feel so blessed to finally have a healthy pregnancy!

littlestgirlguide · 16/06/2013 18:29

Re the tiredness, I am the same - but no chance for catnaps with a 4 year old in the house. I work 9 hour days with only 2 short breaks (no lunch hour) in a public facing office, so even snacking isn't an option really as no food or drink other than water is allowed in the public areas. Last time was so much easier, I could sleep all weekend, and had lunch breaks!
I can't complain though as other than being shattered I have got virtually no sickness as long as I eat regularly

Apparentlychilled · 16/06/2013 18:48

Hi all and welcome to newbies. PIL came over for lunch today and I feel so awful that I made DH tell them. They were pretty low key till I started to get a bit upset about last pg (which was ectopic), when they were nice to me. So didn't go badly, though I had kind of feared it might.

Feel exhausted today (not slept all day and slept badly last night) and feel really sick. YY to what eeyore said- sickness seems to be worse when tired but sugary drinks and snacking seem to help.

Trinpy · 16/06/2013 19:04

Hi everyone, another newbie.

Got my bfp yesterday. Complete shock but we're both really happy and really excited. From lmp I'm exactly 5 weeks but I think I'm really more like 4 weeks.

I already know some of you from my bfp thread in chat yesterday Smile.

DD is 16th Feb, but very open to change!

UniMama · 16/06/2013 19:17

Hi all,
I just tested today and had a positive result. Hubby and I decided to try for number 3 last month, had coil removed and we are pregnant already. Due feb 24th or so it says on the calculator thingy. But I will more than likely be at least 3 weeks early. So early days but very excited :-)

Crazyspills · 16/06/2013 19:26

Hi everyone, got my bfp after having HSG last cycle :-)

barebranches · 16/06/2013 19:49

hi trinpy i was following your thread with excitment!

told inlaws today and they cried!! my parents at then end of the month.

Bearfrills · 16/06/2013 19:52

Told PILs today and got asked "are you mad!?", told my mum who asked "are you kidding!?" :(

congrats to the new bfp joiners :)

we haven't told anyone other than my mum yet. It's quite awkward as people are expecting us to start ivf, and we see the in laws a lot. we've said we're delaying ivf, and I hope they don't guess from my grey face Grin

Trinpy · 16/06/2013 20:54

Hello and congratulations to the other new people!

Sorry to hear about your mum and PIL's reaction Bearfrills. Those are really horrible things to say.

We went to my parents house today. My mum guessed without me having to say anything. She is already knitting bootees. Didn't have the guts to tell my dad because he's such a worrier, I know his reaction won't be great. We recently cut contact with PIL so the plan is to send them a card letting them know the good news if all is well at the 12 week scan.

Bearfrills · 16/06/2013 21:02

I think they're just concerned that DD is only 21mo and I've just started work and DS (3yo) is very full-on. DH and I are pleased though so that's all that matters and this baby was just as planned as all of our others (fifth pregnancy) although it only took us one go which was a bit Shock after our history :o

I feel really sick tonight, I'm actually glad, it sort of reassures me it's real :)

Namechangingnorma · 16/06/2013 21:04

Hi ladies, just checking in. Sunflowered, am in exactly the same situation workwise, hadn't even thought about nipping out to the car. i think I just decided for the next few weeks I will manage work and not much else and if that means going to bed at half seven every night so be it. i was so distracted last week though, it was definitely not my most productive week! it seems to be quite a day for telling the parents, we told mine today and they are thrilled but I keep heavily caveating it with the fact it's so early due to 2 mmc's in the distant past. Hope you've all had a lovely relaxing weekend. anyone else have the urge to keep on doing pregnancy tests?L

Namechangingnorma · 16/06/2013 21:06

Bear, at least by having them so close, they will be close, really nice age gaps too. You are in the same boat as me though workwise, are you still in your trial period? When are you going to tell them?

Didactylos · 16/06/2013 21:12

So damn tired. Told DP last night, think hes as surprised as me as to how quickly its happened, but very much not going to tell anyone else yet (prev losses) But have to work out a way of avoiding certain situations and exposures at work eg xray etc without too much gossip, might have to take a colleague or two into my confidence this week

Bearfrills · 16/06/2013 21:18

Yeah, still in my trial period Norma. Going to have to tell them sooner rather than later I think but it's NHS so hopefully they have good policies in place and I won't get P45'd Confused

CubanoHabana · 16/06/2013 21:36

Can I join, just found out today, not sunk in yet!

barebranches · 16/06/2013 21:52

yes dida i wanted to check on last time before telling dhs parents. very strong positive luckily!!Grin

UniMama · 16/06/2013 22:04

Hi Cubano,
Congratulations! how far along are you?

sunflowered · 16/06/2013 22:48

I'll be packing plenty of sugary snacks in my lunchbox tomorrow then - thanks for the advice Smile. Work's been quite full on recently and we're having building work done at home so evenigs have been spent wrangling with builders/architect/neighbours... Will have to delegate a bit more to DH and get some early nights I think.

We don't want to tell either set of DPs until 12 weeks - MIL has had lots of stresses with elderly unwell relatives recently and don't want to get her hopes up for some good news only to find out things haven't gone to plan. Plus, bless her, she can't keep a secret to save her life so once she knows, the world will know.

Hi to all the new posters too

Glowbuggy · 17/06/2013 07:09

Is anyone else suffering from bloated period type pains? My boobs are KILLING me, but the cramps are making me so worried.....

sunflowered · 17/06/2013 07:40

I'm so bloated I feel like I've put on about a stone in the last week!

Have had super sore boobs too until this morning - really hoping that the soreness easing off isn't a sign that things aren't going to plan Sad

Bearfrills · 17/06/2013 08:23

Symptoms come and go, in my experience. I don't have sore boobs but then I didn't with DD either (with DS though they felt like they were going to fall off they were so sore!). I have bloating so badly, I can't even fasten my jeans properly, and wind - I've spent the whole night trumping away Blush I'm also really tired, sort of a run down feeling rather than sleepiness, and I keep getting pinching sensations along my caesarean scar.

feekerry · 17/06/2013 08:48

another here who had a luke warm reception from relatives. dd is 15m at present .....
