It was the 19th, which makes me 41+2 now. I've beaten all the other ladies in my family and now hold the dubious title of longest pregnancy Hmm

joanna1990marie · 28/05/2013 10:44

Yeah same, here and Im 3 days till the 40 week now, have had to listen to my mum's tales of giving birth to me and my sisters 3 weeks early, then 2 weeks, then 1 week, so I've beaten her. Quite jealous, but atleast ours will be a nicer colour with chubbier cheeks!

Very true Jo!

Midwife has just left, 2nd sweep done (she had quite a rummage!!). Now 75% effaced and cervix very stretchy and soft apparently, baby is fully engaged and she could feel my waters. If nothing's happened I'm booked for an induction on Friday. Finally feel like I'm getting somewhere! I really didn't want to be induced but MW said as cervix is so soft, they would attempt to break my waters rather than insert a pessary first, so a bit more natural than before.

Am now settled on the sofa with a cuppa and don't plan on moving all day!

joanna1990marie · 28/05/2013 12:44

That's great news, I'll be on this thread all on my own soon! How embarrassing is a sweep on the scale of 1-10?

OP posts:
NeedSomeSun142 · 28/05/2013 13:41

Iv had 2 so far one at 40 one at 40-2. which was Friday, consultant said I wouldn't last the weekend but here I still am 40-6!

they are not embarrassing I just thought that if it was going to help get baby out if happily give it a go. doesn't hurt just uncomfortable x

mildred37 · 28/05/2013 15:12

No they're not embarrassing at all, I was going to say no worse than a smear but they don't even use a speculum, just their fingers so its not painful. I had a towel draped over me which helped maintain a bit of dignity at least!

preggersbycheggers · 28/05/2013 15:20

I really wouldn't worry about a sweep. When you are in labour you leave your dignity at the door :)

preggersbycheggers · 28/05/2013 15:21

Sounds promising Mildred. Fingers crossed for you and needsomesun.

Lets hope there is a baby announcement within a few days on here!

joanna1990marie · 29/05/2013 08:03

How's it goin Mildred x

mildred37 · 29/05/2013 08:39

No news I'm afraid. After an afternoon of bouncing on my ball and period pains, yet again I am sat here fed up! I have no idea what is going on with this baby, it's so lazy! MW assures me that he's happy in there so that's helping. Roll on Friday!

How are you all? X

NeedSomeSun142 · 29/05/2013 08:49

all same here no news Envy . anyone else's Belly feel so stretched it hurts to touch?

Dillydollydaydream · 29/05/2013 09:00

Just popping back to say hang in there. I was due 31st May but my ds arrived on Saturday at 39+1 :)

Dillydollydaydream · 29/05/2013 09:02

Omg. I didn't have a ds at all, she's definitely a girl :)
Must be the lack of sleep lol

joanna1990marie · 29/05/2013 09:46

Lol dolly, thought baby brain disappears after birth, hehe, Im due on Friday but don't think theres a chance in hell my LG will turn up! Now peeing myself coz I read a thread about counting the kicks! Apparently if babies movement increases there's something wrong if it decreases there's something wrong, my lo's movement changes everyday! So now im extremely paranoid! What's everyone else's experiences of movements in these last couple of weeks!?

OP posts:
Dillydollydaydream · 29/05/2013 11:20

Saturday lunchtime I had no idea I'd have my baby by tea time so don't give up hope ladies :)

NeedSomeSun142 · 29/05/2013 11:25

joanna1990marie · 29/05/2013 14:54

Having some very mild crampy pains, so im scared to pump or go for a wee in case they go away! Will post again in a couple of hours, probably disappointed!

OP posts:
mildred37 · 29/05/2013 15:04

I'm having the same Jo! Went out earlier and since coming home have had crampy period type pain and backache. I'm hoping this is the start of my boy finally making his way into the world; but I've been here too many times before to get my hopes up!!

Will keep my fingers crossed for you Jo; would be odd if we both have birth the same day!!!

joanna1990marie · 29/05/2013 15:07

Will u still visit me if I'm here in the morning! I dont think mine will last! I'll be here at 42 weeks lol

OP posts:
mildred37 · 29/05/2013 15:34

Lol well I'm nearer to 42 weeks than you are but you could still go first!! I'm addicted to MN so doubt ill be going anywhere anytime soon!

NeedSomeSun142 · 29/05/2013 15:35

I've had the same since dinner time, bring on the pain!! I just want him here now lol

joanna1990marie · 29/05/2013 15:57

We all sound like loons begging for pain, I'm desperate though, thought my waters had broke last night, then I woke up!! Damn birth dreams!

OP posts:
mildred37 · 29/05/2013 16:02

Lol! I know I don't think I've ever wanted to be in pain before but it's a means to an end so come on baby lets get on with it!!!

joanna1990marie · 29/05/2013 16:12

Hear hear! My crampy feelings have gone so im a lost cause im afraid!
