Welcome aboard ladies! You will see the newly installed infant car seats complete with cup holders for the mums waters wine. Make yourselves comfortable, it's going to be a long and sometimes bumpy journey with little ones making their arrivals!

Yeah, it's been pretty quiet in the last few days. How are things going jo? Haven't heard from you in a while....!

Today was pretty busy. Nesting this morning consisted of cleaning all of the windows, grease busting the hob and the cupboards, and some vacuuming...hauled little guy to the doc, picked up the car from the garage, and got a pedi with the bf. Now the bump is feeling super low, but I'm not holding out for anything exciting at all tonight. I just give up in the hopefulness that things will happen. Even as a midwife, I'm convinced I'm going to be pregnant forever.

You and me both Trumpets. I will not only be pregnant For Ever, I seriously think I am going to be the only preggo In The World.

Had a lovely time on my date last night. The great thing about being married is that u can eat lots of garlic, make yr date buy you a macaron on the way home, then sleep alone in the big, comfy bed.

My bump is so high and round it's like I've shoved a watermelon up my dress. I don't need a bra for my 36Es as they just rest on it. And to think at school my boobs were so little I wore 2 push-up bras at once!

kittykatsforever · 01/06/2013 08:09

So lib you literally carried a watermelon ?!Wink
Is it too late to give dd2 back, she was the child from hell last night
( she's fast asleep now ofcourse)

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 01/06/2013 08:51

How did 2 bras at once work lib?

I'd forgotton all the snuffly squeaky grunty noises newborns make when they feed. And the desperate angry noises when they loose the nipple right in front of your nose kiddo Grin

Librarina · 01/06/2013 09:18

Not very well at all Frus, it's a long standing joke with my friends that I wouldn't let a boy anywhere near there as it was mostly tissue and wadding!

Am only getting out of bed now so I can go and watch Dirty Dancing!

Lorelei353 · 01/06/2013 09:34

Good morning.

Decent night's sleep last night which is nice. Off to yoga this morning which I love but it's beginning to feel far to go - doc tells me baby's head is 'well down' but I knew that. I can feel it's down now! All good though.

DH and I are making a Mexican feast tonight. It's our favourite meal to cook together so it's like a nice date night without having to go out. Grin

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 01/06/2013 09:57

Oh lore I want a decent nights sleep. Between ds and dd2 I'm lucky if I get an hour. they're now both acting as though butter wouldn't melt.

bringonthetrumpets · 01/06/2013 15:25

Oooh, now I need to go see me some Patrick Swayze!

I love the grunty, snorty little baby noises! And the little scrunch of the back and bum when you pick them up, and the smell of their little necks, good thing I'm about to have one or you would say I have baby-fever.

Enjoy your Mexican feast Lor! Muy bien!

Off for a family walk around the lake. Bump is still ridiculously low funny looking so it seems everything is locked in and ready to go, nowwww we just need a BABY to come out. Oiy. 38+6.

Oh I know bring my ds is making me all broody. Good job he's tiny and mine. Grin

Jojobump1986 · 02/06/2013 00:11

Eep! It's been so long since I actually posted that the bus had disappeared from my TIO!

Nothing overly exciting to report I'm afraid! I'm feeling healthier now than I have done for most of my pregnancy which is annoying me because everything feels less imminent all of a sudden! Went for a walk in the woods today. It was lovely having some proper family time & letting DS choose which path to take & giggling at him falling over or getting ridiculously excited by the passing bikes! Grin We did discover that he's not a fan of getting muddy! He got his hands dirty & wouldn't stop looking at them & rubbing them until I used a leaf to get the worst off! Any child of mine is soooo going to have to get over any squeamishness when it comes to getting a bit grubby! We had a BBQ this evening & DS learnt to say 'Mammy, barbie'! Grin One day I'm determined that we'll have a proper firepit so I can do campfire cooking whenever I feel like it! I love fires! Blush

All in all, a perfect day! I'd be quite happy for that to have been our last day as a family of 3... I bet it won't be though! 39+4 & counting!

Librarina · 02/06/2013 07:12

Looks like its a race between me and you JoJo, I'm 39+2 today and going for a picnic and a nice long walk.

Learnt how to fit the car seat yesterday...this is getting real!

kittykatsforever · 02/06/2013 08:12

Oh you 39 ladies its so close now isn't it!!! Exciting
I love the scrunched bum thing too ahhh
Is it normal to get hot flushes at night maybe from milk production? I'm washing the sheets every day as literally wetting them through??

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 02/06/2013 09:29

Hi kitty yep, it is normal, pretty sure it's linked to milk production, I get feverish when my milk comes in, when it happened with dd1 i phoned maternity in a panic then sweaty at night until it settles down. I sleep on a towel or two it should settle as soon as your body knows how much milk to make to meet demand.

kitty tmi question for you, do you find it a bit oochy when you had your catheter?

Lorelei353 · 02/06/2013 10:15

39 weeks today!

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 02/06/2013 10:47

Come on Gemini babies, it's time to get ready. Grin

Jojobump1986 · 02/06/2013 11:07

I'm in pain! Obviously my perfect day yesterday has broken me. My hips hurt, my back doesn't feel right & my pelvis is agony! I barely slept last night from the pain. I've had to send DH & DS off to church without me again. I'm so fed up of missing out! I wasn't planning on getting out of bed at all this morning but then DS was refusing to eat his breakfast & was howling for me! Really wish I hadn't given in now - stairs don't help! The only thing I've found that helps is kneeling/lying over a beanbag but it takes a lot of wriggling to get in the right position & the wriggling hurts & just when the pain is starting to subside my knees start aching! It's really upsetting me that I can't wait to not be pregnant! This might be the last time I get to be pregnant & I just want it over with! Sad

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 02/06/2013 11:50

Poor thing jojo you have my sympathy. Ds was my last pregnancy, and I felt terrible at the end I will remind myself of how ill i was if I ever get broody again 39+4 is good going, and on the plus side at some point in the next 18 days you'll feel much better, and have a snuggly baby to swoon over.

kittykatsforever · 02/06/2013 12:23

Oh Jojo you will probably look back with rise tinted glasses like we all do but I don't think there's a woman out there who doesn't want to meet their baby after 39 wks, I had a great pregnancy 1st time but still couldn't wait for her to come. I think because I wanted it to end before I got the horrible things, this time I only went 10 days over dd1 but got piles etc all of which I escaped first time, and lets face it as much as you want to savour the last pregnancy theirs nothing you can look on the bright side about piles and pain etc
Frus -first time I didn't ever feel catheter, it was in and out both times while epidural was pleasently masking it, this time no feeling for it in but they waited till the next day to take it out so I could feel something but not really painful or unpleasant and over in 10 secs, I've not had any pain or anything since it went out, are you still feeling it now?
Glad to hear I'm not the only crazy boiling fool, dh asked if I'm trying to keep persil in buisness alone!! Seriously the bed sheets are soaked through

Lorelei353 · 02/06/2013 13:00

I'm quite lucky. I'm still feeling like I'm mostly enjoying being pregnant. I'll miss it a little. It's flown by! Really looking forward to be baby snuggles but being pregnant for the first time has been pretty amazing.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 02/06/2013 13:37

I dont feel it all the time, kitty, but its not so much pain, as, i dont know, just something. It's only when I wipe, and not always. But I think it might be because they left it quite late before they took it out, so maybe was irritated.

Jojobump1986 · 02/06/2013 13:44

Lor I was like that first time! I remember being a week overdue & feeling almost a bit embarrassed when people commented on how fed up I must be! I loved being pregnant last time & was really looking forward to doing it again! Ha!

18 days Frus?! Hmm He'll be here by this time next week or I'll be wielding the scalpel myself! Wink

I'm so grumpy today. Poor DH dared to ask if I was going to get out of bed for lunch. I told him if he insisted on me walking down the stairs & sitting on one of those chairs then he'd be staying home from work tomorrow to look after DS because I'd still be broken! I now have lunch in bed! Blush

I'm getting slight period pain type aches all of a sudden... As much as I don't want to be pregnant anymore, I really don't want to go into labour when I'm already in pain!

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 02/06/2013 13:50

18days allows for 40+15 (dd1 was 40+15) but that would be the absolute longest. and there's no way you'll be waiting that long.

bringonthetrumpets · 02/06/2013 14:16

Kitty yes, totally normal for night hot flashes. Gotta love those hormones.

Frus I would see if you can speak to your midwife about the post-cath pain. She might have some suggestions about ways to help it feel better.

Oh jo. I so understand the over-doing it days and then not being able to function the next. Sad. For what it's worth, I've seen mums be very achy (one mum even had a cracked spinal vertebrae that no one had diagnosed until after the baby was born, good lord I don't know how she functioned in those last pregnancy days) but they've gone on to be completely pain-free in between ctx and not notice anything extra during the ctx either. Just try to rest up today, lady. Pamper yourself today. Nice hot shower or bath, DH-massages, and lots of rest!! Sounds like something is trying to start up again. Keep us posted!

I was just thinking this morning about the differences in end-stages of pregnancy have been for each of these kids and it's really crazy how much it changes. #1 I loved being pregnant. I wasn't really overly fussed about when he came out, I just loved it so much. He could have stayed in until 42 weeks as far as I was concerned. #2 I was sure was going to go to 40 weeks as well so I was super surprised when he decided to come out at 38+2 and now I'm past the point where #2's labor started and I'm just so done and fed up. 39 weeks tmrw and my midwife brain is fighting with my actual-pregnant-woman brain about why I should be patient, don't try to do anything myself, it's up to the baby as to when they're ready, bla, bla, bla. It's just like a running commentary in my head these days. Annnnny time now would be fantastic.
