Going to attempt a boob measure in a while.... They don't feel much bigger and am having a boy. Whereasy friend had a girl and was huuuge. She just had a breast reduction to take her down from a H to a D.

Kittenkatzen · 10/05/2013 18:48

badguider yep it was Figleaves I ordered from so go for the size up. Although double check if you go with a different type as I'm not sure if the US sizes are a Figleaves thing or an Anita thing iyswim

frog H cup Shock my back aches just thinking about it!

frogchops · 10/05/2013 19:08

Yea kitten, and she's only skinny! She gained less than a stone during whole pregnancy!

CharlW1 · 10/05/2013 20:22

My boobs have grown 1 bust size so not too big really and I'm having a girl. My sisters went from a C to G and had a boy.

Today a woman at work was saying to me 'you'll be off soon won't you - how long have you got left?' Her eyes popped out of her head when I said I was only just over 5 months pregnant - she did try and redeem herself by saying that I hadn't put on weight anywhere else other than my bump my arse and thighs don't think thats the case

Creamtea1 · 10/05/2013 21:15

I sympathise Charl - I regularly have people saying 'your face doesn't look any different' which I take as meaning everywhere else does!
My bladder feels battered today from non stop kicking, this baby has gone from a no movement worry to a non stop wriggler. Have been really tired this week despite some good sleep so hope that's not going to last the whole rest of the pregnancy!

jennimoo · 10/05/2013 21:21

Yesterday, my dad asked me (on the phone) if I'd finished work yet! And my mum thought I must be nearly 30 weeks already (again on phone, thankfully) but was surprised to hear its only 24. I think their excited about another grandchild...

TripleRock · 10/05/2013 21:40

Hi everyone, just wondered if anyone else's wee tests have shown positive for protein?

Wed and today showed positive, and been asked to do another sample on Monday.

Also had unwelcome return of some sickness, fatigue and dizziness.

Made the mistake of googling and now worried I've got something nasty brewing... Has anyone got any experience? Never had this with DD

jennimoo · 10/05/2013 21:52

No protein but I haven't been tested since 16 weeks (24+4) but I do find any bit of stress or busyness and ill have some queasiness and fatigue. Coughing really bad at the mo and its making me feel quite sick.

Hope all is well for you.

Creamtea1 · 10/05/2013 23:18

Triple - yes two experiences of this. First time- protein in urine, normal BP, nausea and sickness, general unwell - turned out to be urine infection which had got to my kidneys and caused a 3 day stay in hospital. Was first pregnancy around 20 weeks.
Second time, in second pregnant around 38 weeks. Protein in urine plus high BP and some headaches. Was induced a week later because of pre eclampsia worries.
Also, you can have a trace of protein from a contaminated pot (have you used the pot before and rinsed out?) or just from mild urine infection. Did they test your BP too? Has your sickness/fatigue just come on recently?

TripleRock · 11/05/2013 08:03

Thanks for the replies Jennimoo and Creamtea

I did wonder if UTI but no other symptoms like pain when weeing, however first sample has been sent off to lab and awaiting results back from that, fingers crossed.

Sickness and tiredness have suddenly come on, but I've also not been sleeping great and been a bit weepy so I'm thinking maybe I've been overdoing it a bit. BP is normal.

So I guess something to just keep an eye on. Going to try take things a bit easy this weekend

frogchops · 11/05/2013 08:30

Triple I had a uti at 8 weeks only detected by urine test. I was suprised as I had no pain when weeing, no burning, nothing. Sometimes you can only tell by the test or having cloudy looking wee...

EmmaDee · 11/05/2013 10:40

Hi all,

Had my scan yesterday can't believe how nervous I was, I was physically shaking in the waiting room! All good baby is the wrong way round and my placentas at the front so that explains the no feeling!

The sonographer said that in a few weeks when baby gets bigger I should be able toeel it.

Team yellow here too, hospitals policy not to tell

Triple hope all is ok and they get it sorted.

herewego2 · 11/05/2013 11:20

Emma, nerves before the scan... can relate to that. Am pleased everything is ok.
My bump is now starting to make me feel out of breath, its like my lungs have shrunk, I keep huffing and puffing....

KamikazeeKid · 11/05/2013 13:07

Oh no..ds has full blown chickenpox today!!!

I'm now of course in google hell reading complications and effects on me or baby :-(

Anyone else had this....this just weeks after slapped cheek scare too! Being a first time mum was definitely easier than this....ive got those worries and dcs illnesses and effects stressing me now. I've had chickenpox but even NHS site is scary reading

fl0b0t · 11/05/2013 14:46

badguider- yikes..... as my husbands work is moving to a new office we thought we'd put off looking at nurseries until we know for sure where it's going to be (moving in Sept).

Emma -I was only nervous when we got grumpy sonographer! She didn't smile and I started to realise that it's a serious job and things could go wrong and..and...and... :-S

So we did our first actual baby stuff shop today! SIL and 6 month old baby visiting from tomorrow for the week (well 5 days) and we've just been sorting the bare minimum to get things sorted. Had to get sheets for the cot, some muslins, a changing mat, some blankets for the cot and a few other bits and bobs (oh and picked up a second hand baby bath for £3 today), so our first £80 properly spent. Room looks so cute with the cot made up- some VERY cute things in the sale in store including some "team yellow" Little Circus fleece blankets and changing mats reduced www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Little-Circus-Fleece-Blanket/375025,default,pd.html

jennimoo · 11/05/2013 15:06

Kamikazee - If you've had the pox just keep an eye out in case you do get any spots in the next 3 weeks, but I'm pretty sure the chances are low. I was glad DD got it (when I was 20 weeks) as now shouldn't bring it home when I've a newborn to catch it at the same time!

frogchops · 11/05/2013 15:15

Just tried the kitten method of measuring my boobs. I'm confused. Round my back I measured 31... But I've not been a flippin 30 since I was 11! So I rounded up to 32. And round my boobs I was 38. 32 BLOODY E?? surely not? My normal bras are a 36B?!? Help!

KamikazeeKid · 11/05/2013 15:17

Jennimoo that's what I was thinking! Glad getting out the way as I know its not good around birth or newborns - plus dealing with 2 outbreaks at once is not appealing!

Thanks for info, more than I've been told!

fl0b0t · 11/05/2013 16:28

frogchops- you'd be surprised! Where and when were you last professionally measured? I was wearing a 32C for years (kinda fit) and then got measured at bravissimo (I think it was) as a 34D. M&S measured me around 32DD/34D also. I think some bras just fit differently, also there's a squillion people wearing wrong sized bras. I know I often do as my weight fluctuates a little!

frogchops · 11/05/2013 17:31

I've looked at the la senza chart on their site and it reckons I should be a 36C which makes more sense. I'm sure my back is not a 32, that's tiny. And my boobs are surely not an E they seem so small!

jennimoo · 11/05/2013 18:02

Kamikaze - luckily I'd asked MW at the 16 week appointment what the risks were as thought about vaccinating DD, so at least had a fair idea when it arrived! Hope your DC doesn't suffer much: DD didn't seem bothered in the slightest, just annoyed at having to stay home!

I think a lot of people find that despite wearing a 36b they're really more of a 32e, but aren't used to wearing it so tight. I find that at some times of day my bra feels too tight though so would recommend looser. As the baby grows I think you expand round the middle there anyway.

I've cheated and am probably not wearing quite the right side: just got the bag of ones from last pg down from the loft and found something roughly right. I do miss under wires though: as I was bf when I got pg it's well over 3 years since I've worn a proper bra.

Don't know if any of that makes sense as despite a nap I am totally exhausted this afternoon. And DD is trying to evict me from the sofa so she can run up and down and jump.

badguider · 11/05/2013 18:31

That bra measuring doesn't work for me. i measure 35" round underneath but i'm in the last hook on my 36 bras and they're getting tight so i think i need a 38.
i measure 43" round the boobs, which with the 35 measurement would give me a FF but I'm ok in E for now and only considering going up to F to 'grow into', definitely not FF yet.

My current 36E bras are a bit tight in the band and ok-ish in the cup, I think I'll wait a bit to see if I go up a bit in the cup then order one anita maternity in 38F and see.

frogchops · 11/05/2013 18:42

My 36 still leaves lines where its dug into my back a bit so I'm thinking a 32 is way too small?? Maybe I do need to go get measured, which is crap as I much prefer online shopping!!

Dorita75 · 11/05/2013 19:19

I used to work in Boots baby department and measured pregnant women for bras. Although you do the method below, we'd always give a few either side (e.g. if 34C we'd suggest also trying 36B etc) as they always fit differently! I measured myself and was a 36D but have bought a 38C as that fitted better (M&S) and looked better....just trial and error I think.

DP bumped into my stomach in bed this morning (bummed me in the stomach!) so got the doppler out and all okay though more movement than usual, but so far have only used in in evenings so could be the baby just moves more in morning anyway....

I'm also feeling tired again but think it's because I wake early (before 6) even though am up till 10:30pm again these days. Also taking it easy this weekend. Have a good one everyone, hope it's not too wet where you are!

kimjayne · 11/05/2013 23:08

Just lay in the bath watching my tummy move. Our monkey seems very.active this evening. It was such a peculiar sensation. I saw what looked like little kicks and then more obvious ripples when he turned over. Really weird! I called the hubby to see but he missed it all. :( our little performing monkey must have got tired.
