bigbelly enjoy your weekend!

Are we really supposed to carry notes wherever we go? I've only been told to take it if I'm away for a few days or so. Don't think I have room for them in my already stuffed pushchair/nappy bag/handbag...

Thanks for sizing advice dinky I have to get that robot outfit for dh! Ok, little one will wear it, you know what I mean...

dinkystinky · 19/04/2013 10:09

Gosh Abzs - that sounds quite intimidating. Hope they move on soon so you can stop worrying.

Esme - I got told by my MW at my first appoitment I should carry my notes around everywhere. Like you my handbag is stuffed to bulging and no space so have decided not to unless I go away from London - am keeping my fingers crossed they're not needed at any point. Was never told to carry them with me all the time with the other 2 pregnancies so am wondering if this is a new thing...

MrsRoss26 · 19/04/2013 10:09

Icing don't get fitted at m&s if possible: they're hopeless! Far better to try any other shops in your area, who know their stuff. There is an excellent thread somewhere with women getting their sizes informed by a couple of informed mumsnetters. Best of luck though!

Am pretty sure I'm coming down with my first cold since the start of pregnancy (a real plus for me!) and feeling very unmotivated today. Shame it's so nice outside, I could really do with a day away from the office.

MrsRoss26 · 19/04/2013 10:17

Whoops, ignore me Icing, have read back and seen everyone else's excellent advice. Should've taken more care in reading through.

Such amazing news from Shiv too, that's fantastic. I have everything crossed for continuing great progress Smile

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 19/04/2013 10:28

Hello everyone. :)

Slightly shocked that so many of you are carrying notes around! I am hopeless for remembering to take them anywhere.

We're going to Haggerston Castle for 4 days at the start of June, should I take them with me then? And any survival tips for 4 nights in a caravan with PIL, SIL, BIL, DP, toddler DS, a dog and heavily pregnant? Confused

dinkystinky · 19/04/2013 10:39

Yes, definitely take them with you if you're away for 4 days Schro - in all likelihood you wont need them but best to be safe. Survival tips.... erm, ditch the caravan and book yourself in somewhere with a proper bed and air conditioning if its hot? If not, take your own pillows etc to get comfy in bed and try and sit out of the caravan as much as possible (as those things get v hot in the summer - that is if it arrives by June...)

photographerlady · 19/04/2013 11:08

Wow look at all the note carriers. Mine have been sitting in the kitchen for weeks but with GTT and 28 week appointment coming up maybe should start taking them with me. Maybe even to London when I'm at work but I rather dash for a train the sit 10 hours in a busy hospital in the city. Well hope I wouldn't have need to.

Devilforasideboard · 19/04/2013 11:58

Morning all. Been lurking but not posting properly for ages so decided it's time I did :)

I'm glad everyone seems to be doing okish, spd and the joys of carrying around what feels like a bowling ball now aside of course.

I've had an interesting week. Had my 28 week scan and consultant appointment and it turns out I have placenta previa (they thought it was partial at the last scan but is now complete). Consultant doesn't think it's likely to move so I have to finish work at 32 weeks at the latest and will probably be admitted at 34 if no bleeding before then and hopefully make it to 37 weeks for a c-section. I've to take it very easy (no heavy housework - yay! but no sex - boo!) and head straight to hospital if I have any bleeding. They seemed surprised I haven't had any bleeding so far so I'm taking that as a good sign. It's all a bit of a shock to be honest but it's out of my hands so I'm just hoping for the best.

Luckily we're more or less organised and the pram (icandy Peach, lush!) arrived this week. On the note front I was keeping mine in the car but am now going to use the excuse of having to have them with me at all times in case of bleeding to buy a large new handbag.

dinkystinky · 19/04/2013 14:39

Devil - sounds like you've had abit of a scary week but the fact you havent had any bleeding or indications of issues is a good thing. and it sounds like you've come to terms with it. I hope things continue to go smoothly for you and you'll make it to your csec at 37 weeks - though the idea of being admitted for 3 weeks doesnt sound too appealing. Enjoy the new handbag shopping!

TotallyEggFlipped · 19/04/2013 18:36

Devil that sounds like the perfect excuse for a new bag. I hope things continue to go smoothly right up to 37 weeks.

DD is now on antibiotics for a chest infection and DH and I are stuck in traffic trying to get back to her. It's complete gridlock and the radio says the roads probably won't be clear for hours Sad.

My calves still feel really tight and I think I'm even starting to walk a bit oddly because they're so uncomfortable. It's bizarre.

On the positive side it's a beautiful day here. It really looks like spring has arrived at last!

Abzs · 19/04/2013 19:18

dinky intimidating is the right word. Luckily the land belongs to a housing developer and they've rung to say their lawyers are on to it. They dealt with it very quickly last time, and given they're due on site soon expediency is in their interest.

PhieEl06 · 19/04/2013 19:23

Seems like a perfect excuse for a new bag devil! With that you've given me ideas.
On the subject of bags has anyone ever had a Storksak or Pitterpac?
I really really like this & this but can I justify treating myself that much!

IcingOnTheNappyCake · 19/04/2013 19:35

MrsRoss haha no worries thank you for the tip and i must admit you're probably right about most but i know the ladies in my local ones and they're really fab, just didnt fancy going somewhere i knew them but better than back to mothercare! Haha

Devil ooh thats not the best news but at least youve found out so youve got a plan and all that in place, i didnt realise youd have to go to hosp. 3 weeks before? Take it easy x

Phie oh my god! I fell in love with that second one as soon as i saw it! But the price Blush, dont think my OH would be impressed since hes just bought my birthday present Sad they look really fab though

On a side note, had my nails done today so feeling lovelyyyyyy Grin how is everyone feeling now its the weekend?

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 19/04/2013 19:38

Phie Haven't had either of those but I have one of these and it's fab, I love it and you can get leather ones too.

Devil I hope everything goes smoothly for you. x

Dinky There's no way I can book anywhere else, I think I will just have to spend as much time outside as possible!

Thinkingof4 · 19/04/2013 20:03

totally poor dd, hope she is better soon

devil yikes that's a bit scary, but v good you've had no problems so far

phie nice bags but do people really spend that much on a change bag Shock

Such a lovely day today, fx for a nice weekend

dinkystinky · 19/04/2013 20:04

Fair enough Schro - spend time outside, take pillows/fan to make sure you keep cool and enjoy the holiday! I'd be tempted to camp outside the caravan if its hot...

Totally hope then traffic cleared and you made it home alright and the ABs kick in quickly for your DD.

Abzs - glad the developer is on it - and the development means it won't happen again!

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 19/04/2013 20:32

I think we would have to pay for a camping space. I love camping but I think it might be offensive if we slept outside! :o

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 19/04/2013 20:34

Thinking I seen bags far more expensive than that in Saks in the US. And they were reduced.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 19/04/2013 20:34

By bags I still mean changing bags!

MarieKL · 19/04/2013 21:59

Shiv curling toes is wonderful news. What a special moment for you. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I'm not carrying my maternity notes with me either, though perhaps if I had a larger handbag I could.... Mmmm I'm off for a shopping trip with my SIL who is 22 weeks pg tomorrow, and may have to have a look at handbags Smile

Devil no wonder it was a bit of a shock but at least now you know what to expect. My sister had the ICandy and I agree, very lush!

Totally I hope your DD feels better soon and the traffic cleared for the rest of your journey home.

Schro no advice, but I hope your holiday is relaxing rather than stressful. Abzs hope you have a lovely weekend and any concerns are unfounded. Sounds like the situation is being dealt with, which is some reassurance.

Off to bed, as had a restless night witH DS last night. My favourite was the 4am wake up call because there was a seagull in his bed! hope everyone has a good weekend.

dinkystinky · 19/04/2013 22:50

Marie - ds2 woke us up the other night wailing he had an eyeball in his eye! Hope you get a good nights rest.

Another one with an ill kid here - Ds1 has a headache and fever virus which struck him down at school. Am hoping he is better for his birthday party on sunday

Cutandstick · 19/04/2013 23:06

Vouching for bravissimo icing - I cried after leaving my independent local bra fitters at about 16 weeks - as they refused to sell me a 34" back as I measured a 32" despite the fact I've had rib pain the whole way thru and can't wear a bra that tight. Bravissimo were wonderful about it!!

Hadn't thought about carrying notes - managed to leave them at home for consultant app and whooping cough jab too... So it may be a good plan.

Thanks for hospital bag advice.... On my to do list....

Anyone else feeling an aching like a bruise on their pubic bone in the morning - on both sides v low down?

IcingOnTheNappyCake · 20/04/2013 08:00

Ahh theyve had so many good recommendations, but i dont think theres a bravissimo near me Sad

cutandstick i havent had that but when i move to quickly or stretch to far i get a tugging pain in that sort of area, don't know if its the same sort of thing

Im finding that in the night i keep trying to lay on my back, i hate not being able to Sad luckily every time i roll over it wakes me up so i can shift back over, so aggravating though Sad

AmaDablam · 20/04/2013 08:02

Morning ladies

Devils that sounds like scary news, but like you say, very encouraging that you have not yet had any bleeding and it's good in some ways to have a "plan of action" so to speak, even if it wasn't what you'd anticipated.

I'm thinking of taking a trip to Bravissimo as I've only heard good things about them. Does anyone else HATE getting their boobs measured? It's not that I'm a prude or anything but there's just something so personal about it, plus if it isn't done right you just end up with something you're not entirely happy with that makes you downright uncomfortable. I've only had it done once since pg - that was in M&S and agree they're a bit rubbish. The lady was perfectly nice but I wasn't particularly happy with the bras I walked out with.

cut I get that sometimes on my pubic bone. This morning though it feels like my hips that have taken a battering from a cricket bat! Going to attempt some pilates in an attempt to sort them out.

26+6

Cutandstick · 20/04/2013 08:27

Make it a lump not a bruised feeling! Presuming its a gland! Was due to be waxed there this morning, glad I discovered it first because that would have HURT! Blush
