We've managed to fill yet another thread, so here is a new one to keep chatting away on...

And the stats list is here

Baby emery boards sound brilliant. I wouldn't have expected to need anything of that sort, but then there's always little things to think about!

Great to hear of you all having lovely sunshine. We were lucky too, and have enjoyed sunshine all weekend. Sorted ourselves on home broadband, mobile upgrades and curtains (!) so feel like we're readying for the disruption of baby, even if we don't have much stuff per se.

Hullo skelosia great to see another July face!

28+5 (and feeling enormous already) Grin

MightBeMad · 06/05/2013 21:23

Evening al, glad to hear Oliver had a better day x

Totally, sorry to hear you're uncomfy. I don't dare look now myself! Maybe the ice pack thingy someone guested might still help?

Three more weeks o get through at work. It's going slowly and painfully!!!

28+3

MightBeMad · 06/05/2013 21:23

Blush at the typos!

esme80 · 07/05/2013 06:36

Oh no, I looked in the end, as you say totally, red grapes down there. Do these things stay the rest of pregnancy? Oh the glamour...

notprincesskate · 07/05/2013 07:37

Morning ladies, I've decided I'm pretty happy that my downstairs view is now limited, I just don't want to know now Wink
I hope everyone got some much deserved vitamin D over the weekend we def did, although at one point I wondered how I would cope if I got much bigger and it got much hotter, I just seem to be sooo uncomfortable all the time, seriously wish I had watched what I ate a little more carefully now.
Glad to hear Oliver is continuing to show strength and determination, long may it continue.
I was a bit Grin at baby emery boards too, as I have a thing about nails and don't really like filing my own, I think it's one thing I might not add to my list.

31+2 same gestation DD born at, so I have officially never been this pregnant before!!

PhieEl06 · 07/05/2013 08:08

Congratulations notprincesskate that's a milestone, hope you enjoy experiencing the last stage of pregnancy. Smile

Just wondering whether foreign countries have the same policy as we do on counting kicks, just out of curiosity, Spocketta is fine but did have a period yesterday where she went unusually quiet & it's well made me wonder what I would do if I hadn't felt her kicks & the lying down & drinking a cold drink didn't work?

Hope all are well, & the weather is still good!

dinkystinky · 07/05/2013 09:05

Yikes Totally and Esme - they never tell you about those glamour of pregnancy. I had a valley cushion to sit on post birth - it helped relieve pressure on stitches in that area. I reckon it might be good for vulval varicose veins too. There are places you can hire or buy online.

Yay for hitting such a big milestone NotPrincesskate!

You sound super organised MrsRoss!

Phie babies (like adults) can be more sleepy in hot weather. Keep up the cold liquids and try lying on your left in a cool room if Spocketta is being unusually quiet.

TotallyEggFlipped · 07/05/2013 10:37

That must feel like a great milestone to have passed, notprincesskate. I hope the remainder of your pregnancy runs smoothly.

esme my MW rang me this morning so I asked about the varicose veins. She said there's not really anything that helps, but to keep doing pelvic floor exercises and some people find a support band helps to take some of the weight if the pregnancy. She also mentioned which hazel on a panty liner can help relieve discomfort. I'm going to try and take the bunch of grapes in my underwear as a positive sign that this baby is bigger than DD. [unconvinced about positivity]

IcingTheCake · 07/05/2013 11:36

Aww thats really good notprincesskate what a milestone Smile

elliejjtiny · 07/05/2013 14:34

Totally lost track of this thread as I've been trying to be a domestic goddess and spend more time on the house than on the internet. Been reading but too slowly so this is the first time I've made it to the end of the thread in quite a while.

Welcome to the newbies.

dinky glad your Shaad went well.

notprincesskate that's such a great milestone. I'm hoping not to reach that milestone myself as the furthest I've got has been 41+4. Getting to that stage once has been enough for me thanks Grin

shiv glad Oliver has had a better day/night. It must be so scary going through the rollercoaster.

mrsmillions where did your MIL get baby emery boards? Blush. Sounds like just what I need for my wriggly toddler, less lethal than scissors.

I had my 31 week appointment at the hospital today. Severus currently weighing 5lb exactly [eek], breech [double eek], with massive head [demands c-section]. Also have loads of waters, more than with DS3 and with DS3 there was a lot so really hope they don't break anywhere public! Ended up having another blood test to check for various viruses just in case as they can cause excess waters. I got the anaesthetist though without too much arguing which was good. They are finally believing me when I say I have awful veins.

photographerlady · 07/05/2013 14:39

I am stocking up my hospital bag with online shopping (booked my TENS, its a slow day at work...). Anyone ever use witch hazel? I am finding it hard to find info online and if you purchase the oil or a certain brand. Thanks Ladies.

Congratulations notprincesskate

Skelosia · 07/05/2013 14:45

Is there a way to go to 'first unread' or something? Sorry! Just scrolling through to find the last one I read is a pain!

I meet my HV next week. I am actually quite happy about that. I've not had a baby in this area, and DS was nearly 4 when we moved here, so not had many dealings with them. Also, as I haven't worked since moving to this house, it would be nice to find out what is available to meet other mums before baby comes, as I do have a history of PND. I want to avoid it like the plague, and isolation is a big contributor for me. So I am quite excited by it.

A friend of mine, who is also due in July but is about 3 weeks behind me has gone into labour :( They are slowing her down though. Hoping that all is well for her, as she had a miscarriage before this pregnancy. I have told her that her baby has a good chance now though. I think she is 29 weeks now.

Hope everyone else is doing okay :)

dinkystinky · 07/05/2013 15:13

Skelosia - go to threads I'm on - it should show posts since you last posted. Otherwise its a case of scrolling through. I hope your friend and her baby are OK and good luck with your HV meeting.

Ellie - plenty of time for Severus to turn right way up. I think there are a few of us brewing chunky monkey babies on this thread.

Shiv - if you are reading I hope you, DH and Oliver had another stable night and day and he has got rid of his infection now.

Cheese and others - thanks so much for your advice on the schools dilemma. We've decided to move the boys to the smaller private school - a better school for ds2's temperament and I think DS1 will respond well to his teachers there (and in yr 3 they have a smaller class and a teacher and TA there too) - still not entirely sure we are doing the right thing as love having friends in the community through the local school and already dreading the school run but seemed abit selfish to run that as my argument for keeping them there. Given we are friends with his best friends parents too we will make sure DS1 keeps on seeing his local friends. Just hoping now we have finally made a decision I will finally be able to sleep!

MrsMillions · 07/05/2013 17:28

Just a quick one to say Ellie - the emery boards are Boots own brand. Come in a pack of 3 about half the length of normal adult ones.

TomDaleysTrunks · 07/05/2013 18:07

Hello all.
Sorry I haven't posted for ages. This is a quick post from my phone. Work v busy, hanging on in there. On the plus, off to Kos on Tgursday and can't wait.
Hope all are enjoying the sun.
shiv been thinking of you and Oliver. Glad he had a better day.

josine32 · 07/05/2013 19:04

Do any of you ladies want to add me to Facebook at all? I'm due on the 25th July with my first (DD) My DH (newly weds!) is English but I'm Dutch.

Josine x

PhieEl06 · 07/05/2013 19:12

Josine PM me your Facebook name & I will add you. Smile

MrsRoss26 · 07/05/2013 20:08

You have all successfully put me off looking 'down there'! The thought of red grapes is enough to put me off making amorous advances on my DH too!

Saw the nurse at 7.30 this morning to have blood taken - I love her already, every time she gets it straight away. MW has given up...

josine32 · 07/05/2013 20:21

Can someone please add me to the stats thread as this Dutch woman is literally incapable of doing it herself! Thanks x

josine32 · 07/05/2013 20:22

Forgot to add I'm due on the 25th July with my DD Claire x

dinkystinky · 07/05/2013 20:42

Josine - its a case of copying and pasting the list and putting your name in the right slot on the stats thread. Only really possible if you MN from a computer though - I'm afraid I mostly use my tablet so cant help there.

Tom - have a fab holiday in Kos! Sounds like you're going ot need it after working so hard.

josine32 · 07/05/2013 20:44

Dinky stinky - thanks a lot for that - am on my iPhone so again not really any good is it? When are you due then? I'm on Facebook too, if any of you ladies would like to add me. I'm Josine McLeod x

Cheeseandbread · 07/05/2013 22:45

Phie hope you are having a nice hols!

Mrs Millions Grin at baby emery boards.

Dinky well done on making a decision on schools. I'm sure your boys will be happy. Smaller class sizes is always good- more attention for each child which means they can move along faster.

Still quite excited by my new leaking boobs... Only if I prod them though. Long tiring day at school today but came home to a nice spag Bol cooked by DH Smile

SlouchingPanda · 07/05/2013 23:06

Someone at work described me as 'heavily pregnant' today Shock. That is all!

30+5

dinkystinky · 08/05/2013 09:30

Am due on 4 July Josine.

Cheese - v jealous of your nice spag bol courtesy of DH- a lovely treat after a hard day of teaching and child wrangling. Not long till your mat leave starts now.

Slouching - at least you didnt get described as "uber-pregnant" Grin

Am going through a super annoying phase of being awake from 3 in the morning - kick started by school stress but has now turned into pregnancy insomnia. Am going to dig out my hypnobirthing CD as that helped send me off to sleep every time I listened to it last pregnancy...
