Glad you've got a check up cherry, as if the midwife thought you would be ok waiting until next week. Good luck for tomorrow and hope they find it instantly for you.

ananikifo · 22/04/2013 19:57

Good luck tomorrow Cherry! I hope it turns out to just be back luck today!

I've lost about 15 pounds at 13+6. Tomorrow is weigh-in day though (try to stick to once a week) and I'm hoping I've gained this week. I am overweight to begin with so I'm aiming for a more modest weight gain anyway.

Is anyone else really dizzy? I swear it's getting worse, even as I force myself to drink water and eat carbohydrates. Am I still in the making more blood phase?

Soupqueen · 22/04/2013 20:37

Good luck Cherry, I'm sure it will all be fine, just too early.

I had put on 2 pounds at 14 weeks, I haven't unpacked the scales yet though so not sure what I'm up to now.

It hadn't occurred to me to have anyone other than DH there. Both families live far enough away that we should be safe!

I'm going to start crocheting and knitting things once the amnio is out of the way next week. I keep going in to John Lewis and and fondling the baby yarns.

I've had terrible trapped wind today - anyone else suffer from that? It was really painful and my bump was huge!

JellyCurls · 22/04/2013 20:38

Good luck tomorrow cherry hope midwife can hear heartbeat for you x

JellyCurls · 22/04/2013 20:42

soup sorry to hear you are going for an amnio, I seem to have missed this news, hope everything is ok.

If you want to start knitting now I love hand knitted babies so will accept your donations. My two dc have been sicky babies, dc1 especially. Used to get through about 4 or 5 cardigans a day. Keep telling this little one that spewing is bad I hope it is listening

Slippysnow · 22/04/2013 20:46

anafiko I went through a stage early on where I kept feeling dizzy, one day I thought my legs were gonna give way! Since then I have been feeling much better, I'm currently waiting to graduate and do some child care so I pretty much take things very easy - I wonder how different I'd feel if I was employed full time. Take it easy, eat more red meat and drink plenty. Ask the midwife about your iron levels, anemea is common in pregnancy so I've heard :)

HotSoupDumpling · 22/04/2013 20:47

Good luck for tomorrow Cherry, glad you pushed for a second opinion. As the other ladies say, the NHs, like most service providers, will often agree to forceful requests just to stop you hassling them!

Soupqueen, don't talk to me about wind, trapped or otherwise...it's a nightmare!

I've lost 2lbs because of lack of appetite, but I'm hoping my appetite is starting to come back. And as for having dm or mil at the labour...good lord, NO!

ananikifo · 22/04/2013 20:50

Thanks Slippy. When did you start feeling less dizzy?

Slippysnow · 22/04/2013 21:33

I'd say after 10 weeks it really stopped, no more head rush when I stood up etc.. If I haven't eaten sufficiently I notice it more. I had to leave the park the other day as I just didn't feel right the world seemed to be moving at a different speed, went home had a drink of water and a sandwich and was fine. I'm 13 + 4 weeks ATM

Natalieand · 22/04/2013 23:11

It's very quiet on here tonight...

cherry good to see u are getting seen tommorow so your mind can be put at rest xxx

Just wondering how many ppl r feeling movements yet? I'm 15 weeks today I thought I felt a little tickly movement on Saturday at 14+5 but nothing since I'm getting so impatient to start feeling baby now for some re assurance is anyone else my kind of weeks and not feeling movements? This is dc2 for me x

TheFalconsmistress · 22/04/2013 23:46

Crookie1 · 23/04/2013 06:46

Hi ananifiko,

How far along are you? I was 12+5 yesterday and for about 5-6 hours felt off the planet, it was scary! Hands felt disconnected from arms which felt disconnected from body etc and couldn't construct sentences :( felt like I might just pass out :(

NEVER had that before, have you?

Iheartcrunchiebars · 23/04/2013 06:54

Hi everyone! Has anyone felt the baby yet? I'm getting quite a lot of period like pain which I assume is him/her wriggling around but haven't felt anything yet.

I reckon I've put on about 2 stone (no joke) because I have eaten so much crap!! Am dieting from today! (Don't panic not calorie restricting just healthy eating)

pinksky · 23/04/2013 06:59

Hi everyone, I've been away with work and trying to catch up...
I really hope everyone is doing well, especially Smitten, MoN, Soup and anyone else waiting for tests/results.

All fine here, tired but sickness subsiding and beginning to get back to exercising, which I'm pleased about. Eating far too much sugar at the moment, haribo, chocolate, sugary cereal... Can't seem to stop!

Natalieand · 23/04/2013 07:51

OMG no time to read back as dd and I are running late but needed to post before I burst with excitement dh has been saying no to a gender scan because he says £80 is too expensive but my sister just offered to pay £40 and BAM. He has agreed I can book one for next week ill be 16 weeks on Monday whooooooop :-)

Sephy · 23/04/2013 07:55

Aw pleased you're getting to find out Natalie.

I've had a really bad night of three loo trips and weird half numb - half crampy feeling in my calves. Anyone any idea about why the leg pain?

Iheartcrunchiebars · 23/04/2013 08:01

Lack of salt? I think that give s you cramp in your calves?

ananikifo · 23/04/2013 08:08

Crookie I'm 14 weeks today. What you describe sounds really scary and worse than mine! I was googling pregnancy dizziness last night and I think with what you describe you should definitely tell your doctor or midwife. It's probably just anaemia but it's better to be tested and treated for it.

I get dizzy when changing position or standing up. Yesterday it was bad enough that I felt unsteady on my feet and I don't think I was walking in a straight line. I've decided that if mine stays that bad or gets any worse I'm calling my GP.

JellyCurls · 23/04/2013 08:36

sephy leg cramps and restless legs are just another wonderful symptom of pregnancy. I had both real bad with dc1 but, touch wood, not had any with this one yet.

smitten keeping everything crossed you get positive results today and good luck to cherry for today's MW appointment

roxvox · 23/04/2013 08:39

ananikifo I have been getting a little bit dizzy. I find I am losing my balance when standing still, and losing sense of where my feet are (I keep kicking things/tripping over my own feet). It's not all the time but when I am like it (combined with my baby brain forgetting words), it's like I am drunk!

natalieand very exciting! I am still seriously tempted by a private scan.

I have called in sick to work today (first time in PG), woken up with a really bad headache, ate a banana, and now I am in stomach/backache hell combined with a pounding heart and a gurgling stomach. I thought I was going to be sick too. I am not sure if it's pregnancy related or if I just have a bug. How can you really tell though?!

Smitten1981 · 23/04/2013 08:43

Thanks everyone, I should get the call today or tomorrow. Dreading it. I want to bury my head in the sand a little bit longer.

I've been having dizzy spells too this past week. Usually from standing up, but they soon go. Although I did nearly fall over in the kitchen the other day for no reason, I was standing still at the time talking to DH. He told me to be more careful, tsk!

cherrycherry41 · 23/04/2013 08:51

Been up for hours, babysitter coming at 9.30 then off to my appt. Had some horrible dreams last night, very very nervous Confused

Shootingstarsandcomets · 23/04/2013 08:56

I thought I felt some movement but I don't think I have- probably wind! I think with your second you can feel it from 16 weeks ish. I can't wait to feel him/her as this is the weird bit where you just don't feel pregnant anymore. I've put on 2lbs so far but I am definitely noticeably podgier around my middle and bum. I put on 3 stone with ds and in a petite size 8 and didnt go crazy, the dr said its just how you carry and not to worry. I was back in jeans after 4 weeks it literally fell off once he was born so dont worry ladies.
I'm heading to the city on Friday and my friend has booked us into the ivy club!! Whoop whoop can't wait for a bit of glamour in my life - I don't get much these days as a mum to my darling boy. What on earth will I wear to disguise my tum though and not look frumpy in such a place. Hmmmm. Hitting the shops I think!

roxvox · 23/04/2013 09:08

Good luck today smitten.

Quick question - how would I know if I had listeria? I am probably just being dramatic and this is just pregnancy symptoms!
