pow... here goes another Wink

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
getoffthecoffeetable · 10/04/2013 12:05

boy your MW sounds awful.
Postman's just been. No scan date again. Think I'll phone and ask when DS has his nap

berrybomb · 10/04/2013 12:09

onelittle - oh no, it's really worrying isn't it? That sounds very similar to mine. It's still there, but very light, so I'm trying not to worry.

It happened at 8 weeks, and now again at 10 + 3. How far along are you?

BoyMeetsWorld · 10/04/2013 12:11

Tired - it's OK, I have wondered that myself as I do have erm 'interesting' bowel issues ATM. Today's pain, though is much more in the pelvic area - and also my cervix which worries me or are other people getting the same?

Agreed, gas etc really does not make life easy to tell what pain is worrying and which isn't. I'm on the bran flakes (kept a small bowl down this morning!) and want to get some of that GasX stuff the Americans all rave about...

OneLittleToddleTerror · 10/04/2013 12:14

berry it's very worrying. I also had an mc before this one.

littlemonkey2013 · 10/04/2013 12:15

boy when i had some brown spotting at the weekend i had crampy type feelings in my lower abdomen. i went to bed and stretched out fully, had about the biggest fart of my life and felt loads better (sorry TMI but its true) gas can make you feel worse, espec when throwing up aswell.

my spotting stopped after 2 days so hopefully yours will too.

i think some of the healthcare team, midwifes and GPs, see these things all the time and so are quite blase. sometimes they forget you are going through it for the first time (maybe not 1st pregnancy but maybe first time symptoms) and dont know whether its ok or not.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 10/04/2013 12:15

I'm 11+3 btw. But I haven't had any scans or see a heartbeat. I know it's only much safer after 8 weeks if you have seen a heartbeat. One of my fears is to see an empty sac next week at my scan.

Fairydogmother · 10/04/2013 12:25

berry that midwife sounds horrible. yes of course sometimes mc happen but it doesnt ever need to be put to anybody in those words. very very unsatisfactory!

i'm another one with significant gas problems! last night i was doubled up in pain with the gurgling and despite 2 senna tablets theres been no movement down there! bit uncomfortable

BoyMeetsWorld · 10/04/2013 12:28

Oooh what are senna tablets, are they safe & do they work?

Fairydogmother · 10/04/2013 12:36

i got them in tescos and they are completely safe during pregnancy. in fact the gp recommended them.

they are herbal and the first time i used them they did work! maybe i just need another dose. i took them at night and they had worked by 8am the next morning!

getoffthecoffeetable · 10/04/2013 13:01

Zantac is safe during pregnancy as well.
onetoddler I have the same fear as you as I've not had an early scan either. I thinks until you've seen it on the screen it's always going to be a worry. Try and take things easy if little one will let you. DS and I have watched a lot of Peppa today!

harverina · 10/04/2013 13:06

I'm finding lactulose helpful. Pharmacist gave me it via minor ailments for free Grin I have also had pains which have eased after breaking wind Blush and the pains don't always feel like normal money pains so I sometimes get a fright.

Boymeets it's normal to way stretching pains. I've been getting lots over the past few days especially if I move quickly. They are like a stitch down low and they take my breath away sometimes.

Onelittle know what you mean about the fear of seeing only a sac at the scan. I did get a (40 second) scan at 8+4 and the sonographer said there was a heartbeat but I still have the same fear as you, not sure if that's irrational of me since I did have a scan? I read that the likelihood of miscarriage if a heartbeat is seen at 8 weeks is 2%.

Hope that those of you with spotting are ok and not too stressed out about it. Despite it being very common that wont ease your anxieties.

Getoff did you call about your scan yet? We have same due date, I wonder if that will change! I'm hoping they same in 20 weeks not 12 haha!!!

getoffthecoffeetable · 10/04/2013 13:26

harv I've just rung them. Apparently the scan is done at the same time as the consultant's appointment. It says to allow up to two hours for the appointment. So pleased I phoned!
It's on 29th April, when's yours? Hope I've got my dates right as that'll be almost cut off time for nuchal fold test!
Have also been having wind and tummy pains. DS has now learnt to say "mummy trumped" hoping he doesn't repeat that to too many people!

SpanishLady · 10/04/2013 13:40

am very jealous of those with scan dates - I am just getting ready to go for my booking in appointment - am for some reason nervous about the reception Im going to get when explain I believe I have gotten pregnant straight after a MC without waiting for an AF - have even started doubting I am pregnant and am just a mental case ):

am hoping the general uncertainty of dates will get them to scan me asap - I like onelittletoddle and getoff want to at least know if I have gotten this far with something to show for it.

and breathe

join others in hoping people spotting are reassured soon

OneLittleToddleTerror · 10/04/2013 13:56

Spanish don't worry. I'm in the same boat as you. My last period was my mc. I think that's why it makes me more nervous about the spotting, that and I haven't seen a heartbeat yet. My scan date is next tuesday, so it's less than a week's wait!

getoffthecoffeetable · 10/04/2013 14:06

Not long now until your scan then one
I have at least three friends who unfortunately had mc's but fell pregnant straightaway afterwards and they have beautiful babies now. It's apparently one of your most fertile times although obviously difficult to get your head round the loss.

SpanishLady · 10/04/2013 14:13

I dont want MW to ask how I feel about it as tbh I dont really know - I feel abit empty about it all - though I take great comfort in reading other people on the thread looking at prams and mat clothes, I just cant seem to bring myself to join in but hope I can soon.

heres to your scan one little - hope the week flies by for you!!

MummaPanda · 10/04/2013 14:15

Yea I'm barely hanging on by a thread atm! Dd's temp has gone down but she's had diarrhea and we've just found a rash all over the back of her head.
Last night was terrible, she kept waking up screaming, like every 20mins, then she pooped, so I changed her nappy, put her back in bed, she pooped again, changed it and put her back in bed. And yes, she pooped again. I pretty much completely lost it lol. Put her in bed with us after that and she did sleep a bit but I now have the worst headache and no energy to do anything Sad

SpanishLady · 10/04/2013 14:19

sorry mumma - a sick child is horrible to watch - hope she may have come through the worst of it?

MummaPanda · 10/04/2013 14:29

Hope so, she's got an appointment at the gp's this afternoon to check over the rash. She's zonked out on calpol atm lol. Wish I could do the same!!

MummaPanda · 10/04/2013 14:32

Would be so much easier if she was old enough to tell me what was wrong or what hurts!

getoffthecoffeetable · 10/04/2013 14:34

Bless you mumma sending you much sympathy and a nice cuppa (decaf of course!). Fingers crossed that DD is over the worst of it and that you get some answers from the GP.
Am currently battling with a whiney toddler who's whined all morning and is blatantly tired but he's only had 35 mins sleep and doesn't want to go back to bed. Am knackered and was hoping for a nap but don't fancy my chances - as the little sod has just got up yet again...

BoyMeetsWorld · 10/04/2013 15:03

Oh no mumma rashes with DS are my worst nightmare...so scary. What has the GP said?

MummaPanda · 10/04/2013 15:08

Don't know yet we have an appointment at half 4.

I just had a shower to try and revive myself... I got in with my bra on? And didn't notice for about 3 minutes. Oh dear.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 10/04/2013 15:09

mumma sorry your dd is not well, hope she makes a speedy recovery.

spanish hope you are ok and can start to enjoy the pregnancy soon. I'm a bag of nerves too, had a scan that put me at 7 wks 5 but all the reassurance from that scan has vanished now and I am convinced something is wrong (it probably isn't I just worry a lot).

berrybomb · 10/04/2013 15:14

Oh dear, sounds like we are all struggling today.

Here's to a better Thursday.
