Saundy · 29/03/2013 13:47

Wow how tall is DP?

Dizzy81 · 29/03/2013 15:53

He's 6ft, so I'm expecting to have a lanky baby!!!!

Fairydogmother · 29/03/2013 16:14

My DP is 6ft and I'm 5ft8 1/2 so we expect a long baby too! But maybe not as long as yours dizzy!

Told people in work today and they were brilliant so feeling good.

GinSling82 · 29/03/2013 16:24

Urrgh. Just woke up after nap and feel gross! Nausea & funny taste in mouth continues but craving daal [buconfused]. DH is working all day so I'll have to try and make it myself then I'm on nights later and I already feel exhausted [busad]

Wow Dizzy I think with genes like that your kids will be lovely and tall! Where do you find trousers to fit, I'm only 5ft10 and often struggle?!

TiredFeet · 29/03/2013 16:42

saundy even out of hours can give you anti sickness meds, and when I was really bad they would give me injections, you must try and stay hydrated, I know how awful it is not to even keep water down Sad . My tip is to drink when you can, just little bits, but when that is too much just keep wetting your lips almost, to trick your body into accepting a little water. Or I found ice lollies would help as they basically numbed my stomach so stayed down a bit longer. Take care, speak to a dr/midwife if you are struggling and also there is a good hyperemesis support thread on the pregnancy board.

I have the opposite problem, starting to worry somethings wrong as I'm not being sick yet, just very faint nausea. Dh thinks I am mad to be upset at not being sick. Am 6+2 today so maybe its early days still? Can't remember exactly when it started last time, and as my GP said, no two pregnancies are the same...

GinSling82 · 29/03/2013 17:00

I would try not worry tiredfeet, easier said than done I know but your GP is right no two pregnancies are the same, lots of people on here with dc already have testified to that. Try and relax, make the most of not feeling too bad as the nausea might start a little later this time or not at all if your lucky.

Dizzy81 · 29/03/2013 17:07

gin thankfully next do a tall range! Long tall Sally but only in their sale!!! I think jelly bean will be tall. Gulp.

Fairydogmother · 29/03/2013 18:31

Yaay Easter faces! [bugrin]

Saundy · 29/03/2013 19:43

Don't worry Tired I felt exactly the same at 6 & 7, now look how far I've come lol.

Ta for the advice, DP bought me some wrist bands & am managing some bread & Coca Cola which is good.

That's some serious tall genes you're combining Dizzy, I think it's fair to say DC will be a big 'un. In fact it looks like there'll be a few. Mine will be a mini egg no doubt [bugrin]

ilovemiltonismybestfriend · 29/03/2013 19:47

Tiredfeet, don't get too worried about not being Ill. I was moaning about exactly the same thing last week and now I'm nauseous ALL THE TIME! Confused
I have found my go to food now and what I crave above anything else is Apples! I can't get enough of them! Nom nom.

harverina · 29/03/2013 20:30

Tired with my dd I didn't have anything other than mild nausea which I could eat my way through with salty crisps.

Today....uurgghhh I feel yuk Hmm was really sick after lunch then felt so sick all afternoon, really horribly sick and miserable and tired and grumpy....jeez what a delight I must have been. We went out for dinner tonight - I needed steak again. Right up until I are I didn't think I would manage it but when eating it I got some respite from the intense sick feeling. I'm now feeling so sick again though. What a moan I am sorry Blush

Dizzy I am 5ft9 and my dh is 6ft4 - out dd is very tall. She was out of her Moses basket by week 9. I have a picture of her last night in it and she literally had about 2cm space above her head! Hence why we are avoiding a basket this time!

Watching with interest about the dopplers - are they generally reliable after a certain week? And how much do they cost? My midwife told me that they won't use a doppler until my week 22 appointment Shock!!! How rubbish is that!!

Hope you are all ok. Saundy I feel awful but you must feel so so much worse, take care.

I'll keep you all updated on the Doppler situation. I think honey is going to win though, just checked on Amazon and its not due till 5th - 9th April Sad

It's probably for the best though, if I can't find a heart beat it will drive me insane with worry.

Saundy · 29/03/2013 21:27

I'm sorry you're feeling like that Harv hopefully it was just an off day.

Last night was an awful low but now I am feeling much better. If I last out the night & can get up then I'm good, if not straight to a Dr tmr. Hopefully it wont come to needing the tablets Suffolk but that is my target/test & if I need them I need them.

On a more positive note - virtually no abdominal pain today - woo! I almost didn't notice but then I had a brief mini ache & realised that's all I'd felt today [bugrin]

Supposed to be driving home tmr, spending the night at my parents then telling everyone at Easter dinner on Sunday. We're a bit scattered so it'll be summer before everyone is together again. It's gonna be a big shock for everyone. Am a bit worried that I'll ever get there & blatantly have MS so they'll just know OR will be that green around a big lamb roast dinner that I don't seem happy about the news!!

I was in pretty bad shape when I told my boss & he thought I didn't want it!! Would hate it to come across like that again.

Am being a bit of a scaredy pants.

Saundy · 29/03/2013 21:28

*meant to say if I get up & eat breakfast! Would be setting the bar a bit lie otherwise!

Saundy · 29/03/2013 21:29

*low

getoffthecoffeetable · 29/03/2013 22:53

Good luck telling your parents saundy. We told both sets today, there were tears and they're all thrilled. None had guessed either which we were really surprised about. Got to tell my two brothers tomorrow. Not sure how to break it to one, him and his wife have been trying for a while now, I know they'll be really pleased for us but they'll also be gutted.

TiredFeet · 29/03/2013 23:14

Thanks guys, I feel bad moaning about lack of symptoms when I know how much some of you must be suffering!

TiredFeet · 29/03/2013 23:17

getoff could you tell them by phone /email? From bitter personal experience and that of people close to me in similar situations as well, I think that is often the kindest method? Then they can have a good cry in private before they compose themselves. But obviously depends on what you know of them, I am quite a private person I guess.

TiredFeet · 29/03/2013 23:22

harv (and anyone else) - moan away! Kept me sane the ante natal thread last time when I was feeling awful.

suffolk I am glad things have improved a bit for you, that sounds really tough. Nausea is still grim but at least it is a bit of progress

stuffthenonsense · 30/03/2013 07:00

Saunders good luck with breaking your news tomorrow....if it were me I would probably get thorn tons to pipe 'we're having a baby' on a massive egg and present it at the appropriate moment...because I wouldn't be able to speak through tears lol

Getoff that will be hard, I've been both sides of that coin, I remember very well that every pregnancy announcement made me feel like passing out but that didn't mean I wasn't genuinely delighted for them. I've always told those I've known are struggling face to face, with a hug...I don't know if its made them feel better but I've always hoped that they can see from me that I am trying to consider their feelings whilst sharing the news.

I'm still having to eat through the sickness, and my chosen fix is toast, I avoid bread as it makes me sluggish but nothing else will do, it's baking me miserable.
People on the coke, please head for caffeine free! In my last pregnancy I was a three a day lucozade addict. Can't stand the stuff now.

harverina · 30/03/2013 08:16

Diet coke is my friend so I have mainly decaf with an occasional can of normal Grin lucozade was a craving for me last time too, it's very low on caffeine but high sugar which worried me a bit - this time I am craving the taste of lucozade but it makes my sickness worse as it makes me burn!

Still feeling rotten this morning. My tummy is just so dodgy - heading into town to meet a friend for lunch today hoping I don't need to run to be sick afterwards...first stop? Chemist for sickness bands and something for my constipation, which can't be helping Blush

Fell asleep on the couch last night watching a dvd. Was so grumpy when poor dh woke me up, poor man.

Just going to get ready so will catch up with thread later

Wishing everyone a nausea free day Grin

harverina · 30/03/2013 08:18

Love the idea of a thorntons egg with the message on it! Wish I'd waited and done that haha!

honey86 · 30/03/2013 08:18

harv thats shocking! my midwife usually does the doppler at 14-16 weeks... i wudnt be so sure bad, im 9 weeks today and scanned this morning with a about to burst full bladder... nothing.. just the blood flow again... i bet this babys in a wierd position... hiding behind the placenta or something...

feel horrendously sick this morning, but glad i only have 3 weeks til the end of this trimester x

Dizzy81 · 30/03/2013 08:50
